- I am building a huge Garden Room Workshop and this time i will be showing you how i build the roof for my timber frame structure. I will show you how to make a flat roof right up to the point of EDPM rubber roof preparation.

The question is why do you want to build a flat roof??
i would much rather work outside in the winter time than the summer.

Built a garage almost exactly the same way about 5 years ago and it was absolutely rock solid. dramas that I came across was the flat roof, They love to leak and the concrete base, ordered ready mix and was too wet when poured and dried dusty. I would definitely go with an angled roof if I done it again and maybe sit the frame on a couple of courses of brick as the bottom of timber cladding goes manky quickly.
Was just planning a workshop build over Christmas so these videos are well timed
