I think it's pretty clear that his "Rose" is still in the garden. The gardener might be there, too, though not right next to her.
Yeah.. I'm surprised he missed that.
@@chlupl I think it’s he paused and some key times and missed it.
Im not so sure the gardener is a victim in the story, it suggest he left with her or he left alone. She may even be with the gardener still, but my money is on the rose in the garden being her. He totally missed that, but to be fair, the studio version put more importance on the last verse than this version.
Are he may be stupid. Maybe he is a DEI hire.😂
Waylon is one of the outlaws of country music. Marvelous singer.
He is pretty much the first guy to do outlaw country
The line "some say they ran away together, some say that gardener left alone" gives you a clue as to what happened to them. It further says, "No trace of her was ever found" and he said "I'd walk through hell to keep my Rose in paradise". The old man killed his cheating wife and perhaps the gardener as well but it seems fairly clear that his wife is buried in his garden. That's why there's still a Rose out in the garden and it's why the old man just sits and stares at his garden. The gardener may have left alone or he may be buried with the wife in the garden.
My very favorite Waylon Jennings song is one I have never heard on the radio. It was a song he did with Anita Carter (Johnny Cash's sister-in-law), called "No One's Gonna Miss me When I'm Gone". I also think Anita Carter has probably the best female voice in country music and I think she could have become CMA's Female Vocalist of the Year or Entertainer of the Year but she never wanted to win awards and she never tried to become a "star". In fact, she didn't much like singing solos. She much preferred just singing harmony with someone else. Hers is the beautiful high voice that takes the first "Oh-h-h-h" she and her mother and sisters (Mother Maybelle Carter and her sisters Helen and June (Johnny's wife) sang with Cash on "Were You There". That also would be a great song for you to react to if you have never heard it before.
BTW, to answer your speculation about where Waylon was from, he was NOT from Georgia. He was from Texas.
As a Texan I can confirm he was indeed from Texas.
@@barnsaresafeyup584, Littlefield, Texas to be precise.
Also another line I think is important is “some say it even grows in the winter time and blooms in the dead of the night” key word being dead
Next by him: Try "Are You Sure Hank Done it This Way," "Amanda," or "Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love"
Everyone needs more Waylon in their life! You have some spot on observations. I grew up listening to this. Fun to see someone else discover outlaw country
Waylon is my favorite country singer.
Try Storms Never Last his duet with his wife Jessie Colter.
That is absolutely beautiful duet :') try "whatever gets you through the night" too, more upbeat and fun. I love Waylon & Jessi.
More Waylon!
Waylon is one of the few singers that sounds every bit as good live as he does in the studio. You need to keep going with his songs. Would love to hear you take on songs like Bob Wills is still the king, Clyde, Mental Revenge, and Cedar Town Georgia!.
He was born and raised in Littlefield, Texas.
Waylon was from Littlefield, Texas.
Love that you reacted to this song. I heard it on an old Waylon CD and learned it on the guitar and I song. Nobody has ever known it before I sang it to them. So cool you are putting it on UA-cam.
This and "Will the Wolf Survive" are two of my favorite songs from later in his career. They are great and often over looked songs.
Rose In Paradise.... RIP
I love this song. Loved your reaction I could tell you liked the song.
This song is one of my favorites, I enjoyed and appreciated your review of it.
Wish we could “see” the performances. Waylon’s from Texas. He is also the Original Outlaw with Willie.
Thank you for doing this, mate. I am not a great fan of Country music, but I am a huge fan of Waylon Jennings . The man has an incredible life story and is almost solely responsible for making Country Music what is today. He fought against the system that was current in the Country Music scene in his early career and almost gave up several times. But he finally cracked it and became the living legend that he is. He was born in Lubbock Texas.
"Reno and me" and "Where corn don't grow" are great stories and musically ace.
You've just listened to the King of country music.
As with Elton’s “Indian Sunset”….Again, Shocked to see Rose in Paradise!!
Waylon is a mist Rabbit Hole! A must….Lonesome, Onry and Mean.
“Singer of sad songs“ it’s fun, it’s catchy, and the wonderful voice of Waylon Jennings. This is kind of the early Waylon Jennings stuff before he was a big big star. Still one of his greatest songs. Another good one yes “San Francisco Mabel Joy” …. A very sad song.
Nice reaction
He's from littlefield Tx
One of my favorite Waylon songs, along wuh 'Drunkun' and Dreamin,' 'Waymore's Blues,' and 'Big Mamou.' And don't forget his duets with Willie Nelson, like 'Clean Sirt' and 'Makin's of a Song.'
There are so many great songs from Waylon, but one I didn’t know until more recent years is “singer of sad songs.” That is a fun song to listen to. Of course I know all his big hits love them
Waylon Jennings was a guitar player for Buddy Holly. They didn't have room on the plane the night we lost Holly, Valens and the Big Bopper. So fate saved his life the day the music died.
He actually gave up his seat
He gave up his seat because he had a head cold and didn't want to deal with the sinus pressure problems associated with flying at different altitudes.
he played bass for buddy Holly not guitar
Thank you for sharing Waylon. My favorite country male artist ever.
Waylon is an absolute legend. My favourite artist ever.
Check out “the conversation” with Waylon and Hank Williams Jr.
Outlaw Country!!!!
My favorite Waylon song...you got the story right away..love my Waylon, Hoss
Love Waylan Jennings 💕. If you haven't heard Crazy or Amanda, worth checking out!
My absolute favorite Waylon song.
Waylon is identified as a Texan through and through, but he also spent a lot of time in Arizona, when he was young and later in life.
He's buried in Mesa, Arizona
This is 80s Waylon, I think from Will the wolf survive. Huge Waylon fan here but I was brought here by your take on Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss, I appreciate your wide tastes in music and I'm looking forward to checking out some acts I'm not familiar with on your channel. Check out Honky Tonk Heroes album by Waylon if you enjoyed this. I've enjoyed your takes MrLboyd and looking forward to watching more.
Listen to Clyde, it's a short fun song from Waylon.
Clyde live by Waylon! omg it's phenomenal! so is "don't you think this outlaw bit...." arghh love him.
Rose is in the garden. He was not going to lose her!!!
I've been on a Waylon OUTLAW Jennings binge for about a month. Listen to his earlier pretty 😍boy stuff and ride into the 70s and early 80s. Fire!! I think that he said that he left Nashville so that he can turn up his bass lol. A real character. He was great. LOVE his blended that rock, blue in his country. Wait until you check out his version of I've Been a Long Time Leaving (Sickest waltz you'll ever hear!!). Check out Waymore Blues (damn near rapping/funky!!!), Time To Bum Again, Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way, Only Daddy That Will Walk The Line....
This is my favorite Waylon song, followed closely by "Drinkin' & Dreamin'".
Everyone that likes music likes “Are you sure Hank done it this way.”
"Some say the gardener left alone". Leads you to think he killed her. Probably out of a jealous rage and buried her in the garden, hence a the Rose in the garden.
should react to his song "Cedartown, Georgia", it's more cut and dry - great song
Waylon is from west Texas
Waylon was born in Texas. Littlefield i think.
Waylon is from Texas.
Please react to "Dreaming My Dreams" and "It's Not Supposed To Be That Way" by Waylon.
Check out the highway men and their song "higwayman"
Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash broke the back of the Nashville Machine. Artist had more control over their work. Now the Nashville Machine is alive and well. That is sad.
Such a great song it makes you wonder what really happened to her that's the joy of country songs they tell so many cool stories they reel ya in.
I tried playing this on my UA-cam channel and uploaded about a year and a half ago it was a fun one to play but it didn't sound anything like this stuff LOL just basic chords and my lousy voice
Please consider reacting to long black veil by lefty frizzel and flowers by Chris young
From Macon but I’m not banker and have no garden
Thank you for this! Please check out “Outlaw bit’s done got out of hand “. It explains a lot of the “outlaw generation “.
The song may suggest that she is buried under the rose bush.
He's saying she's buried in the garden
Just turn it around and be a good music fan. Not genres but good music no matter where it comes from. If you really dig into country music, you'll understand that it's Scotch-Irish folk mixed with Blues folk and negro spiritual patterns. It's the American sound of roots music. Waylon is a great start!!!
Waylon, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson equal The Highwaymen. Must must, you will want to react to the whole album.
The Highwaymen would be a good song for him to listen to.
5 DEADLY VENOMS, 2PAC TREACH APACHE some real boom bap rap you will love this.
Yo love your work ethic keep it up man.
The original release is slower tempo and more haunting.
you should listen to points of authority and a place for my head by linkin park
I’m not sure that she ran away but is the rose in the garden. Not sure but just sayin. If you listen he does talk about that rose that blooms in the winter and dead of night.
This is Struggles grandfather
Too get the full effect listen to the album version. Live version is good but the flow of the music and vocals on the album version just sets the vibe
Yo MrLboyd, I need you to react to Jojis New song 'Glimpse of Us' ASAP, You'll love it.
he is struggle Jennings grandpa
Aye you should react to "This is War" by Gawne, Tech N9ne, and Atlus or "Waves" by Gawne and Atlus. Death to Mumble rap was honestly a really bad first impression for Gawne lmao. Either that or you should check out something by Shoe Gang. Id suggest listening to "Execution Style" by RJ Payne ft Shoe Gang first. Although they have a ton of Eminem remixes and even some songs over beats that Eminem produced too. They're extremely lyrical🔥⛽
Try "Four non Blondes".."What's going on?"
Already done
Today is Waylon’s birthday, Born June 15th, 1937. The studio version is better IMO.
I like this version better, studio version is too polished.
Did he miss she is dead and on buried in the garden?? :)
Waylon. Is the only true outlaw. Look up the bust. That her wrote outlaw bit about. Even the dea. Could not set him up.
He wrote.
Waylon , Cash and Willie. Merle too. But I can't imagine my life without Waylon's music.
I've only ever looked at your thumbnails, your hand appears to be stuck to your face, did you manage to free it.
What's next two cigarettes in a ash tray
Or playing with the queen of hearts.
Listen again, he killed her and buried her in the garden.
Waylon is from Texas.
