There's a real honesty to Waylon's music. He wrote about his life and didn't hide the mistakes, it's all there. He had a great sense of humor, he really didn't seem to be nervous about performing. Very natural, and a huge amount of music. I keep finding great songs that weren't hits, but could've been. His covers of vintage country songs were the best renditions I've heard.
