- Waylon Jennings & the Waymore Blues Band, “Can't You See”, from Never Say Die: The Final Concert Film, Nashville, Jan. '00
Listen to Waylon Jennings: WaylonJennings...
Waylon Jennings played his last major concert at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium in January 2000. Backed by the all-star Waymore Blues Band (“the band I always wanted,” he later recalled) along with his wife Jessi Colter and guests John Anderson, Travis Tritt and Montgomery Gentry, Waylon delivered a moving, exhilarating performance, revisiting his greatest songs one last time.
Waylon Jennings was an American country music singer, songwriter, and musician. Often credited as a pioneer of the outlaw country movement, a subgenre of country music that is characterized by its rebellious, anti-establishment themes and sound. Jennings had many hits, some of which have been covered by other artists or have become country classics. He collaborated with many other artists, including Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Johnny Cash.
His most popular and well-known songs include "Good Hearted Woman," "Luckenbach Texas," and "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to Be Cowboys”.
Similar artists to Jennings include Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Kris Kristofferson.

Even in his last years, no one could touch this man's voice! The true GOAT!
He was a great, true artist, he would not have wished for proud talk that diminished other artists.

I did some shows in between 98 to 2000 but, I’ll never forget when that call came in . I was shocked ,No one ever knew he was as bad as he was. I’m still Sad to this day. RIP my friend.

Hey Jerry
being a American of Mexican decent, Waylon's and Hank Sr's love of the way they sang their songs is what attracted me to country music for that I will be forever grateful. I've had some tough times while attending to life's challenges, I must be honest and admit that when times got rough and seemed a little unmanageable a little bit of Waylon's wisdom whispering to me on the music box would help put everything in perspective. Thanks forever grateful, rest in peace Mr. Jennings!!!
Hey Steven 👋
There ain't men left in this world like this one 🕜 sad sad truth 🥺

BEST COUNTRY WAYLON JENNINGS THE WAYLON BLUES DAND MUSIC 🎶 🤠🤠👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I seen this Texan in 1975 and 1976 and was never disappointed. Only Waylon could cover this song by TroyCaldwell! Being from South Carolina we went to see Toy and Troy every now and then. Great people. Waylon used this song to close out his shows. Another great performer gone but will stay around for a long time. I always said if there was never a Allman Brothers Band Dickie Betts would have been Waylons right hand man.
Hey Lee 👋
30 years old and can honestly say Waylon made music for every generation. My son is 10 and listens to Waylon, my wife loves Waylon and I LOVE ME SOME WAYLON.
Waylon is one my country hero's. He was the original outlaw. I remember very clear the fame he had in the 80s. He made country music cool for the young crowd back then. Waylons music captured me into country music. It literally brings tears to my eyes to watch this. He was such a huge figure from an era of country music we'll never see again. He died way too young at 64. RIP
Well said...from an era of country music we'll never see again. It should be a crime.
How did we get to Brooks and Dunn? Sugarland??Yuck.
Listen to his 60’s and 70’s !🙏
The final song from his final major concert. He did a few casino shows in small markets in the months that followed, but this was the true grand finale.

@@CathyAnderson-hc5mq Hi! :)
@@tomhallick419 how are you doing Tom 👋?
This is what a real country music looks like, sounds like , is. I will admit there are some ok decent singers in Nashville today, then you happen to see them and they some little city boy who went out bought a cowboy hat and pair of boots and you can tell looks totally lost or uncomfortable. You don't have to imitate or be fake just be yourself, this man waylon was real, he broke the mold for you, it's all about the music
RIP Waylon Just So Nice and Well Done Pray For Peace 10-4
Lost a legend ! Oh Waylon could beat those strings like they owed him some money! Go rest Hoss.
