- Steve Reeve's Old School Bodybuilding Workout
Hope you enjoy this homage to Steve Reeves, a classic bodybuilding and star of the old school Hercules movies.
Steve Reeves got our dad Duke into working out, and our dad got us into working out, so we wanted to make this video as a tribute. Hope you enjoy it.
It's true... I started working out when I was 29 years and 364 days old. I am actually 5 inches shorter now... regret it so much
tricepsish hahaha
Lol
And don't work out after 60 or the same will happen.
Damn. They told you to wait...and you. didn't. LISTEN!!
LOL that is it.
I am 46. When I was twelve, I used to have to lift weights in my parents basement where my Mom couldn't see me because she used to start yelling at me that I was going to stunt my growth. I am 6'2. I guess I would have grown to be about seven feet had I not started weight lifting so early.
Mauricio Labra ofc lol I workout since 12.5 years old
When I got up to 167 lbs my mother didn't want me to get any bigger. I ultimately got up to 235 lbs and 19 3/4" guns.
@@bigmuscles250lbs It's important to feed the pythons.
@@ADDIDASSSSSSSSSSSSSS It's all about the guns.
Possibly
Don't workout until you're 30 years old or else you will stunt your growth haha! Love it guys!
hahah the text was a real gem!
lol it was!
Is it true
ITINERANT * no lol
fucking freaked me out till seeing this comment, thank god
His body is definitely old school 🔥💯
Did some training back in the mid 70s with some bodybuilders well into their 50s and 60s, I was in my 20s. They always did full body training. They were extremely conditioned and looked great.
Full body is the shit
Paulo Guga It is really tough. I tried his championship workout. It's a lot of reps and sets. It contains more than 70 sets.
@@MysterD515 Of course, it's tough, it was a contest preparation routine. Steve Reeves, in his book, said the best way to bulk is 6 sets per body part, 8-12 reps and always going to failure to achieve the most possible bulk of muscle.
@@Mks25932 lmao! That went completely over you head.
Funny video bro. I'd rather have that classic old school physique than the juiced up freak beast look anyday
Agreed. People seem to be getting more into classic look anyway. Just look at all the parted haircuts and thick framed glasses everyone is wearing now.
These guys are juiced up lol
Kyle Sweeney If you think these guys are on juice you either A: have no idea what you're talking about, B: are using it as an excuse to not work hard in the gym or C: all of the above
Both of their physiques are perfectly attainable naturally.
Benjamin Hamilton yea that's obvious, I was referring to the look bodybuilders had before steroids were introduced.
Reeves juiced, as did those early bodybuilders too. They knew almost nothing about proper nutrition and training, yet testosterone has always been effective. Physiques of the '50s are achievable naturally today IF you have good genetics.
Reeves would do slow, perfect reps, 2 up, three down, and if he could do 3 sets of 13 perfect reps, he’d add weight, then do the 8-12 rep range until he could do 13, then increase weight, etc. He did full body on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, then took the weekend off. On off days, he would do cardio in the form of power walking, which he popularised.
The Faux-Reeves actually has a very accurate 50s era physique. I'm impressed.
Brilliant voice over guys
Haha that’s awesome man! Steve Reeves really was an icon of the day
LOVE IT! Your editing and storytelling game is so on point. Goals for days
Thanks dude really appreciate it! Definitely a huge part of what makes this so fun for us.
With all the fads and fashions of the past 60 years, you can't go wrong with a good old fashioned workout like this.
Francis Squire yep...good ole fashion training
Such a great job on this video dudes! You totally nailed the nostalgia factor from the music to the narration! Love the respect for Steve Reeves! Happy 2018 Buff Dudes!!
The power walk at the end killed me!, 😂🚶
Steeve reeves is my favorit bodybuilder of anytime! Ty to remember him through your video.
Amen 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 TO That One! ADAM!
I wish I could workout the old-school ways, in an old-school gym. Nowadays, it's all about who can lift the heaviest, taking selfies and getting followers on social media. Even some of my gym buddies spent time talking about how they can get more followers and sponsorship rather than actually working out at the gym.
This was one of my favorite videos!
I'm 52 yrs old and I started bodybuilding because if steeve Reeves not Arnold, watched all his movies and read lots of articles on him, he was the true king of bodybuilding! Thanks great video , funny to!
Working out on the beach while wearing dress pants - CLASSIC!
My god the slightly unsyched audio made it so good...you gyus are creative AF
How to look confident when walking 101: 2:36
that vince mcmahon power strut at the end...
No chance!
I am glad no expense was spared in the production of this film.
Do the Charles Atlas "getting sand kicked in your face" thing.
Steve Reeves and Reg Park are great classic physiques.
I loved watching Steve Reeves' movies. Thank you so much.
NICE !! I DO THIS WORKOUT EVERY OTHER DAY. EASY TO MAINTAIN ON THE ROAD AS A TRUCK DRIVER.
I wish you would do a whole series of workouts in the Steve Reeves character
Me too
Even though I've just started a PPL workout, I've been look at Steve Reeve's regime as well for down the line. This was an excellent video! Thanks.
Thanks For Sharing These 📹!Steve Reeves LookSo MUSCULAR AWESOME AND Very Handsome TOO!
I love this video. You guys have some fun with the Steve Reeves persona and are still respectful to Steve. You've got the period film attitude down perfect.
NICE! The production quality was excellent!
one of the best workout routines that I have tried...thanx a lot for sharing with us.God bless u...
This is awesome! I'm trying this workout. Thanks, bros!💪🙌👍
Maurice Cooper He wrote a couple of books. I have one. His championship workout is tough.
Michelediaf what kind of workout it is?
@@MysterD515 did he neglect hamstrings work
I really like this one. It's actually a lot of great classic moves that can be as simple or as challenging as you want to make them.
Steve Reeves trained x3 a week using 3 exercises per body part 3 sets each apart from biceps get get incline curls 9 sets it’s on UA-cam in his own words.
Thanks for shareing this great video from steve reeves.
He was one of the moest aesthetics bodybuiders ever. Greetes.
This workout seems pretty simple yet effective. I don't go to the gym but I do have dumbbells at home and also, I like workouts that target all areas of the body and doesn't take too much time! All I did is something like this and gradually increase on the weights overtime. I can see my fitness and strength improving little by little. Much thanks for the share!
Good one. I started my morning with this workout. I did the exercises as super sets to save time and keep my heart beating. Jumping jacks and pullups rather than a brisk walk. Thanks Dudes.
The Number One. Hercules is Steeve Reeves forever for the eternity. Saluti from Lecce South Italy ❤😊😎💪 I am Chickboxer and Bodybuilder
Awesome video Dudes! I've gotten GREAT results myself from full body training. Would love to see more content like this about other Golden Age Bodybuilders!
Beautiful Mr. Reeves but don't forget those deadlifts and toe raises! And crunches.
Awesome I am surprised you didn't include a stomach vacuum in this. Hope you can do a Eugene Sandow workout.
Excellent! Great video, as always! I have just gotten back into working out and this is shockingly close to my current program. Classic.
PLEASE do something from Pumping Iron! one of you is Lou and one is Arnold. and your dad can be Lou's father
ToiletClogger1945 COM’ON LOUIE!!
This was.... An experience. Which I loved.
This was amazing
lol, awesome.
I never get tired of watching your videos, especially this one 😂
You guys are awesome, hilarious and weird in a good way! With your workout, keep motivating others to do the same. Thanks
The dubbing voice killed me.
I used to get that "don't workout until you're 30" alooooot. I started working out at 15, and all of my friends and cousins who saw progress started to tell me that I shouldn't workout at this age as it could cause problems with my bones, can cause stunted growth. And if I stop working out for a week or two, and wanna join back they'll tell me there is no point in continuing your workout now as you've spoiled your body by not working out for too long. Alot of discouragement I faced which made me actually to stop lifting. Until I was 22 and got back in lifting as soon as I got the chance. And on the other hand another cousin of mine who started lifting by the age of 14, kept grinding and became buff as hell by 17 and is just as tall as I am now and has an amazing physique. Moral of the story, don't listen to all those disencouragements and JUSTDOIT!!
Do the Ben Swolo workout, Kylo Pecs
Kylo Tren
you guys know how to keep interesting watching you after many years
Brilliant
This was such a good vid!! The music and the old fashion theme 100%

You guys gotta do a Vince McMahon video.
I am thoroughly entertained. Thoroughly.
HILARIOUS😂😂😂😂 and awesome at the same time💜
“One has to wonder how he even swims?” 😂😂
Steve Reeves was awsome
Outstanding .
Good to see how a body builder looked before steroids and HGH.
I love this channel! You are a couple cool talented buff dudes, HOOAH!
this was really funny lol. well done
I want that shirt and trouser combo! That's a style that should come back into fashion :)
Looks to me like standard pleated dress pants that would come with a suit, and a simple short sleeve button-down
Don't know if you can get that exact look today, but I bet you could get close at just about any store that sells Men's Wear
It does look good, and comfortable
It´s hard to get this wide cut of pleated pants these days. Sadly.
Struck a nerve bro. Steve Reeves was the greatest. You guys got it going right too. Cool vid
look like a steve reeves , for real !!! great
The power walking is by far the best part!
Perfect push ups!
I love this workout. I think it's straight forward and covers so much of the body. The only things I added was a set of pull ups and good mornings. What I found interesting is how challenging the pushups were for me. I have a fairly strong bench, but I also weigh ~285lb so sixty push ups totally kicked my butt(chest and triceps haha). Thanks again for the content, Steve Reeves was such an interesting and inspriational figure to so many people.
My dad also admired Steve Reeves.💪
I'm limited to home workouts for a while and I have some dumbbells so this is perfect. I'll probably do this three times a week
Thumbs up from Sydney, Australia!
Hahahahahaha ... Excellent!!!!!!.... The best channel
Thanks For Sharing These Videos 📹 🙌 ❤ 🙏 💕 😊!
Old school body building is simple effective and natural, no anabolics

Pretty good footage of Steve. Hard to believe it's from the 50's. He looks like one of the Buff Dudes. Has to be a connection. Aesthetic as fuarkkk
Very clever! You captured the look and voice over of the 1950s!
that was great thx
incredible homage
What about Reg Park?
Ahnold's idol.
