Merry Christmas to the Larson Family. Was hoping to see the quatrac pulling a sleigh full with things you all deserve. Thank you for being a lovely family.
If you run into that tire situation again, try putting a ratchet strap around the tire. (on the tread) That will compress it and squeeze the sidewalls out.
The best thing to do with that lube finer filter is hook the lines together and take it off put it in the iron pile trucks had that in the 70s it doesn’t do crap but hold a lot of oil
i worked in a tire shop for 6 years or so we took a old compressor holding tank welded a 2-1/2 inch threaded pipe to it hooked a high pressure hose about 4 ft long to the threaded 2-1/2 welded pipe then took a 2-1/2 inch pipe welded a good handle on it smashed the tip a little and connected it with a ball valve in between it to the high pressure hose and had a 55 gallon air blaster for airing up truck tires and heavy equipment tires you just had to make sure you didnt bump the valve by accident 😂
On that service truck, that oil filter was popular in the 70s and 80s they went away from them in the 90s most of the trucks that had then have been changed to the new style filters we change ours on our 359 just a lot simpler
Its not a clam Chet, its called the apron. The thing pushing the dirt out of the bowl is the ejector. Scrapers are my favorite construction tool to use.
I hook a air hose to the tire I’m trying to get on the wheel kink the hose spray the starter fluid un-kink the air hose and hit the tire with a weed torch and 💥keep the air going till the beads fully set and inflate to the proper pressure
When using a tire blaster it usually works better if the tire is laying down with the dish down on the floor. Then the tire is resting against the rim on the bottom. But you need a clip on chuck that will fit against the floor. Congrats to you and your new bride!
I have best luck with putting the tire and rim up on a 5 gallon bucket when i go to put air in them and we have a 10 gallon woofer and that works way better than a 5 gallon.
For best results inflating those tires, remove the core from the valve stem and you'll have much better luck, That tiny little core valve lets such a small amount of air in, when it is removed much more air goes in. The former railroad company 4 door service truck, is that an 8.2 l Detroit 4 stroke engine?
LOL...years ago, we pulled one of our semis in the shop to change out the drive tires. It was a Friday afternoon and a few BEERs were involved. We tried the very same thing with the very same results you ran into. For some reason, semi tires and starting fluid just don't work... But it was fun trying.
Wouldn’t hurt to have another well but what about an electric pump? I’ve got a shallow well pump in my basement I put a fitting on there for 1” Forresty hose and I got 200’ of that and nozzle I got can flow about 20gpm works fine until I run my well dry. But you need real fire hose so much easier to use and handle.
Lay the wheel on a 5 gallon bucket next time your trying to seat beads, it will relieve yours troubles of having to try seating each tire 4 or 5 times.
Thank you for taking the time to explain about damming, and influencing water to go through the underground pipes so it doesn't erode your field. I was honestly completely clueless about that whole process before.
If you lay the tire on the ground put a block of wood underneath the rim on one side and it will pop on right away all your air is escaping out the bottom
Chet y’all need to put airlift kits on the front axles of ur trailers. Ya won’t believe the tire and brakes that ya won’t half to replace i run airlifts on my dump trailers
They call that filter is a Luber Finder filter it is packed with news paper be sure to bleed the air out of it, holds 3 gallons of oil, you can remove the whole filter and not hurt the engine.
Yep, I remember changing those luberfiner filters. Put one of the vent plugs so it is high so you can bleed the filter after you get it running. The dome top filters took a 101853 oring, flat top filter took a square cut oring. I never had and trouble you did installing the oring, they would just lay in place.
Great video thanks for explaining the "tileing" and erosion. I have a quick question why is it called "tile" and not drainage? where did the term "Tile" come from?
That filter is called a luberafiner. Used on heavy duty trucks and equipment. Probably not used on newer vehicles much now days. Most just use 2 larger spin-off filters
@diersirrigation we had them when I mechanized at Anchor Motor Freight. We're only changed them every third oil interval. Eventually G M recommended removal . Change spin on every 6000 miles and oil evert 100,000 miles because the 6-71s leaked oil so bad that it was continously changed thru maintenance level.
Just a word of caution! I used to use the starting fluid to set the beed on many occasions until my uncle burnt his logging truck. He blew a tire and the steel ribs must have caused a spark. The back of his truck literally exploded with fire. He was going slow on a woods road and went he jumped out he got a distant smell of starter fluid. It makes sense that when the tire seats itself the fire would go out for lace of oxygen leaving raw starter fluid inside the casing. So that is why this practice is frowned upon. You probably don't want this in your field during harvest. Love your channel! I plow snow with a Case 125 tractor. (They just bought me a new one this season)
Putting dish side of rim in 5gal bucket and air blaster works good. Because rim off the floor and tire bead up against the rim and should seal up on that side.
I would lay a length of tile over your upright and tee into it (with the ends capped). The idea is to keep mud out of your underground drain. Remove your temp above-ground tile after dry up in the spring. I don’t like the idea of a naked drain pipe at ground level.
I wonder if you hooked a air Chuck up to the big tank to provide more pressure, how much better the cleaning might be. I have absolutely no knowledge that it might work better. Just a random thought and maybe a fun science experiment
Chet, you need to slightly cone shape around inlet an put a Orange carrot on that 8 inch inlet. It will stick up 3 foot. Everyone will see it when planting and harvesting. You might also need to dress it up wih skidster
They have them flagged on gps and plant over them. The planter shuts off for a 6ft circle around the intake. During harvest the grain cart drivers are responsible for pulling and replacing the orange flags that they put by the intakes.
Received your calendar today. Wish i knew it was so small cause i could have saved ten bucks. Boxes are to small to make notes in. Now a 12" square calendar has about the right size of box to make notes in, and you see it from across the room.
Thank you for explaining the process of making a dyke system. Complicated at first but makes a lot of sense now. I’m so happy that you found Jean Marie, she is such a sweetheart. Congrats to both of you.
chet if you want to build thst terrace quicker take the dirt directy above the tile inlet becauee that area will naturally get replenished with topsoil and your gaining capacity at the same time quick circles as well
With That quad track shifting rough it could be a number of things possibly be due for a transmission service and calibration or even just a calibration but have also seen other issues with the valve block and clutches but if you keep up on routine maintenance it’s usually just a clutch calibration
Lube-a-finer filter haven't seen one of them in long time. Make sure you bleed air out of it with engine running and loosen bleeder. Most of the time oring is square cut not round strange. It's really bypass filter and it always getting small amount of oil while engine running
There's a cheat way for the tire blaster leave the air line hooked up to the blaster with the valve open will give you more flow it works 99% better most of the time.
There’s a lot involved in what you’re trying to achieve. I can’t tell how much elevation change you have, but you could end up moving a whole lot of material. It looks fun though. Iv never seen that type of gps unit and looks fun to play with.
Check out the Crary machine that Iver's Family farms has been using to do that very thing They have been video recording it the last two weeks videos Why don't you move your lay on the the ground Semi Water tank over by the wash bay You could use it from there in spring spraying
Water faster or Slower? Can you re claim water for the wash bay or the farm from the tile? does it go down to a lake? Your Channel is one of the coolest in my book and thank you!!!!
The only difference between your abilities and others is the ability to put yourself in their shoes and actually try.
Merry Christmas to the Larson Family. Was hoping to see the quatrac pulling a sleigh full with things you all deserve. Thank you for being a lovely family.
Take the wash water one more step and recycle it. You have so much roof why not catch the rainwater in a cistern, it's 100% soft and really cleans
When u use ether to put a tire on the bead it works best if u have the air hose hooked up with constant air pressure then lite the ether
If you run into that tire situation again, try putting a ratchet strap around the tire. (on the tread) That will compress it and squeeze the sidewalls out.
Been there done that, works well!
It's your channel. You do what you want to.
The best thing to do with that lube finer filter is hook the lines together and take it off put it in the iron pile trucks had that in the 70s it doesn’t do crap but hold a lot of oil

I call them catch basins. I’m from Kentucky. 3:12
You need to balance your rim on a 5-gallon bucket with the outside of the rim facing up hook up your air hose in blasted with your chute
Buy yourself a 13 gallon bead blaster! It never fails and you don’t have to use ether!! 0:30
On that service truck, that oil filter was popular in the 70s and 80s they went away from them in the 90s most of the trucks that had then have been changed to the new style filters we change ours on our 359 just a lot simpler
Back in Texas in the 40's they used to terrace farmlands. It was part of the government soil erosion projects. They used road graders to do the work.
Still do in central Texas
You can purchase a spin on filter head to replace the luberfiner.
thx for keeping my Tractor Kenny clean
Its not a clam Chet, its called the apron. The thing pushing the dirt out of the bowl is the ejector. Scrapers are my favorite construction tool to use.
Camera don't do it justice can't tell what you done but your explanation is good
I hook a air hose to the tire I’m trying to get on the wheel kink the hose spray the starter fluid un-kink the air hose and hit the tire with a weed torch and 💥keep the air going till the beads fully set and inflate to the proper pressure

Get rid of it… make sure you unscrew the lil bolt on top of lid to purge air and let it fill up with oil.. when oil runs out tighten bolt
For best results inflating those tires, remove the core from the valve stem and you'll have much better luck, That tiny little core valve lets such a small amount of air in,

Reset head unit. It will upload the amphemeris files for projected starlight path.

Cool. If you think about it, show it working next time a good rain comes.
Brohdy clean sure looks nice. Leave the air hose on as you light the tire.
Lay the wheel on a 5 gallon bucket next time your trying to seat beads, it will relieve yours troubles of having to try seating each tire 4 or 5 times.
How are those tiles not plugging up of dirt or straw shit?? I dont understand that
Truck looks great Eric. You guys know all the tricks . It is amazing all the repairing and maintenance your crew does.
The Big Swede’s voice is changing! Yes, it is!
You explain the leveling of the dirt very well and congratulations you and your wife.
I REMEMBER YOU GUYS DOING THAT BACK IN 2020 IT WAS A FUNNY VIDEO
Thank you for taking the time to explain about damming, and influencing water to go through the underground pipes so it doesn't erode your field. I was honestly completely clueless about that whole process before.
Merry Christmas to all of you and your families from Oklahoma
If you lay the tire on the ground put a block of wood underneath the rim on one side and it will pop on right away all your air is escaping out the bottom
Merry Christmas and a happy new year do you and all your family
Chet y’all need to put airlift kits on the front axles of ur trailers. Ya won’t believe the tire and brakes that ya won’t half to replace i run airlifts on my dump trailers
Thats awesome you have enough good soil deep enough, i think you would really jack up a field trying that around here by ripping off topsoil
If you soak dried rubber gaskets and o rings in brake fluid for a few hours will make them like new and soft
They call that filter is a Luber Finder filter it is packed with news paper be sure to bleed the air out of it, holds 3 gallons of oil, you can remove the whole filter and not hurt the engine.

Nice to see Chet has got two hands.
Are you covering you tile inlets with stone to prevent from filling with dirt?
Those Luberfiner filters are 50's technology. A bypass filtration. That is why you don't see them on new stuff. Plus the covers tend to leak.
My understanding is that only part of the oil goes through that filter at a time and that it is not necessary to change it with every oil change.
Air to the tire after the sauce before fire, it’s science when it comes to fire
Chet, Big Swede & Chris If you will cut two- 2x4's just long enough for the wheel to sit on them, the Ether works much better.
You use that scraper quite a bit. You should look around for a good used Terex TS-14 or TS-24 scraper.
I’m not telling you what to do but a trick is to put the rim on a 5 gallon bucket then it will seal with the cheetah
Helpful hint on replacing tires, move the front axle tires to the back and but the new set on the front axle
Just a word of caution! I used to use the starting fluid to set the beed on many occasions until my uncle burnt his logging truck. He blew a tire and the steel ribs must have caused a spark. Love your channel!
I plow snow with a Case 125 tractor. (They just bought me a new one this season)
Chet, you did a fantastic job of explaining
The disappointment on Chris’ face when the air canon didn’t work three times in a row was priceless! “Junk!”
Putting dish side of rim in 5gal bucket and air blaster works good. Because rim off the floor and tire bead up against the rim and should seal up on that side.
InAustralia we call them contour banks.they guide the water to drop off points in gullies we we dam it for later use.l
I would lay a length of tile over your upright and tee into it (with the ends capped). The idea is to keep mud out of your underground drain. Remove your temp above-ground tile after dry up in the spring. I don’t like the idea of a naked drain pipe at ground level.
great video guys. Merry Christmas to all of the families.. December 21 th. here
I wonder if you hooked a air Chuck up to the big tank to provide more pressure, how much better the cleaning might be. I have absolutely no knowledge that it might work better. Just a random thought and maybe a fun science experiment
Where I grew up, the terraces were to keep the water…never thought to put a drain in them.
It's getting dark at 5 but it's light out at 6 30 in the morning your going to have to get up early.
Luber Finer filter! Old school and messy but been around forever on older semi trucks. Just a bypass filter. They do look like a spring brake….
Chet, you need to slightly cone shape around inlet an put a Orange carrot on that 8 inch inlet. It will stick up 3 foot. Everyone will see it when planting and harvesting. You might also need to dress it up wih skidster

Please don’t use that gas water pump indoors. That will spew CO in that building, not good.
So you want to retain water maybe a retention area?
Should rotate tires, I hear it helps with even wear.
chet if you want to build thst terrace quicker take the dirt directy above the tile inlet becauee that area will naturally get replenished with topsoil and your gaining capacity at the same time quick circles as well
You need either without the upper cylinder lubricant works much better but is hard to find
That a Lubrifiner found on every Diesel engine truck till the 80 worked VERY well
You could try calibrating the transmission in the quadtrac, you can do it yourself at the farm
Okay Chad this spring you have to go take us back there and show us what it's doing
With That quad track shifting rough it could be a number of things possibly be due for a transmission service and calibration or even just a calibration but have also seen other issues with the valve block and clutches but if you keep up on routine maintenance it’s usually just a clutch calibration

BS, welcome to the joyous chore of changing the filter on a Luber Finer!
Waching you from Romania
Put a block under the rim to hold the bottom bead up against the wheel when using the bead blaster.
Can we get better shots of Chris' shirts, they always seem comical (when I can read them). Great video as always, Chet!
I understand completely
There's a cheat way for the tire blaster leave the air line hooked up to the blaster with the valve open will give you more flow it works 99% better most of the time.
60% of the time, it works 100% of the time.
Another great video Chet and thanks for explaining you did a good job.
Merry Christmas 😊
That big oil filter is called a luberfiner filter, all the older semis had one
Tile opening Do you need covers or how do you keep them clear from getting clogged up
Looks like a Luber finer filter I had one on my 85 Pete
You boys, I swear!
when you finish hauling dirt, lift the lip and bring the crowd all the way forward and you have a big dozer blade to level out the fill !!
There’s a lot involved in what you’re trying to achieve. I can’t tell how much elevation change you have, but you could end up moving a whole lot of material. It looks fun though. Iv never seen that type of gps unit and looks fun to play with.

We call then Dry Dams in IL
Its all about the air fuel mixture when beading tires
Big S do you fill your oil filter prior to installing?
Do you need to replace the fertilizer that was scraped off building your dike? A bead bazooka has worked really well in the past for me.
Where did dough get his hooded vest?! I love vests, he’s right core temp is crucial!
Im definitely pro tile for the trout and salmon around me its MUCH better all around.
Water faster or Slower? Can you re claim water for the wash bay or the farm from the tile? does it go down to a lake? Your Channel is one of the coolest in my book and thank you!!!!
I’ll agree with that title 100 % god bless stay safe
Do you place stand pipes on your tile inlets or screens over the opening?
