How To Make Perfect Fish Fillet And Rice In Just 20 Minutes: Best Meal Recipe For Busy Weeknights!

    👩🏼‍🍳 5-Minute Fish fillet:
    White fish fillets (Sole, Tilapia, Branzino, etc.)
    Garlic, sliced thin
    Fish Outta Water Spice Blend (or make your own; the ingredients are below!)
    Salt
    Unsalted butter (about 1 Tbsp for 3 pieces)
    1-Make sure the fillets are cut to fit in your pan. Make small pockets, little cuts every 1-2 inches, to make room for the garlic splices. Don't cut through the fish.
    2-Place a garlic slice in each little pocket. Season the top with salt and generously sprinkle your spice blend.
    3-Heat a non-stick pan. We love cast iron because it gives the fish a beautiful sear.
    Add a small piece of butter when it's hot, but not too much. When it's just about melted and bubbly (don't let it brown!), place your fillets, spice side down. Don't move the fish, and make sure your butter doesn't smoke-control the heat of your pan.
    4-After approximately 2 minutes, carefully flip the fish and season the second side with a little salt and your spice blend. Let it cook for about 90 seconds, then remove it from the pan.
    ** If using thicker fillets, such as Cod, please allow for longer cooking time (perhaps another minute for each side)
    👩🏼‍🍳 The Perfect Rice:
    1 onion, finely diced
    1 carrot, grated
    1.5 cups of rice
    Salt
    pepper
    2 1/4 Boiling water
    1- Dice the onion, grate the carrot, and rinse your rice well in a fine strainer until all water comes out clear.
    2- Heat olive oil in your pan (make sure you have a matching lid), and add the vegetables. Saute on medium heat for a few minutes until the onion is translucent and becomes a bit yellow from the carrot. Add freshly ground black pepper and salt.
    3-Add your clean rice and fry for a few minutes. Mix every 30 seconds to prevent the rice from sticking to the pan. When you smell "popcorn" from the fried rice, add boiling water 1.5 times the amount of rice (so, 2 1/4 cups for our 1.5 cups of rice).
    4-Mix, ensure the water is boiling, and taste the water carefully. Add salt until the water tastes your liking, and close the pan. (The Total amount of salt is around 1 Tbsp for this quantity.)
    5-Place it on the smallest flame on low heat. Set the timer for 18 minutes! Do not open the lid.
    6-When the timer beeps, Turn off the heat, open the lid, and fluff the rice with a fork.
    (If, for some reason, there's a bit of water left, continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes.) Close the pot, let it rest for a few minutes, and enjoy!
