  • When I was searching for how to install an RV backup camera I had a hard time finding one that explained how to do it from start to finish. I thought I would share putting in my new backup camera with you in case someone finds it helpful. Some people installed the backup camera in the middle light but you can't install it there because you are required by law to have three middle lights and two on either side (five in total) across the top of your RV. You don't want to be ticketed for not having the proper lights on your trailer.
I hope if someone is looking for how to install a backup camera that they find this video helpful.

I’m glad it helped. I found the same thing when I was trying to search how to do this! That’s why I made the video. I couldn’t be the only one who was looking for this info.
It really isn’t that hard. Let me know how it goes! 😊

The brand is Rohent. I’m still very happy with the purchase. There is a link to the exact camera in the description of the video.

How do you know you were screwing into something soild and not just 1/8" fiberglass?

Good question. I could see that the kitchen cabinets were mounted behind that wall (based on where they were in relation to the window. Also, it felt solid when I pushed/knocked on it. You can normally hear hollow points. Plus, a little bit of good luck 😉

Why did you drill new holes when you removed the light it had the holes

You can’t install a camera where the light is. Legally (at least in Canada) you have to have those lights installed and working. I just removed the light to wire the camera wires but then put the light back.

Hi Laura... Your adoption follow-up video just showed up in my feed. It was the first time I had seen one of your videos. I will likely never look at the rejection video as it would probably just make me angry, on your behalf. I have now scampered around to a few of your videos, and have concluded that you have a wonderful outlook on life, and a wonderful family. If there were any losers in that original encounter it was their loss NOT yours. People's brains are wired differently, and they react to an overload of unusual information differently. I suspect that sooner, or later one, or more of those family members will break from the pack, and make contact. However, if that never happens you did nothing wrong. I am posting this on one of your more recent videos assuming there will be a better chance of you seeing it. Please try to stay warm as I assume winter is fast approaching for you. Here in W. Texas it is just beginning to get comfortable outside. Take Care.
