    TESTIMONIALS
    ‘Started hitting the moves laid out in these courses the very next class...extremely uplifting to have such a quick improvement in my game’ - Houston, TX
    ‘I’m the only white belt in the academy doing these moves…I’m suddenly competing at a blue belt and above level…thanks Coach Tom’ - LA, California
    ‘Some of the best strategies you are going to see for control and submission’ - London, UK
    ‘The detailed way Prof Tom breaks down his moves into the absolute essentials is just next level for me. This is absolute gold‘ - Sydney, Australia
    ‘Most of the guys at my Academy, have about 60lbs on me, but since purchasing your ‘Kimura Attack system’ and ’14 days’ everything has changed. I feel much more confident, roll better and the guys on the mat have commented on the same. Thanks, Coach Tom’ - Dallas, TX
    ‘I know you have your names for your courses, but I’ve renamed them the ‘Zero to hero’ courses, I went from getting constantly owned, to now being completely dominant on the mat in no time at all’ - San Diego, California
    ‘I use the course material heaps, and just recently put it into action at a local comp, walked away with double gold. No one was more surprised than me! - Miami, Florida
    ‘As a new white belt, these classes have helped me so much, Prof Tom’s technique, the details, and his attitude. I love how Prof. Tom shows the ‘mistakes people make’ and then shows the correct way of doing things. The only one I have ever seen do this’ - New York, New York
    Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia
    ‘The instructional saved me big time at a recent comp, my opponent was def more experienced, but that was ok, coz I had Prof Tom’s video in my brain. Nailed it and scored gold’ - Colorado, Denver
    ‘All of it. Everything you show in your awesome videos are now my ‘go to techniques’. Thanks for your vids Prof, Tom’ - Houston, TX
    ‘You really have to watch every second of the video because Prof, Tom drops these little nuggets of gold throughout the course. And they make ALL the difference. The only one doing this. Keep them coming Professor’ - NY, New York
    ‘If I could only be taught from one person, Prof Tom would be it. I can’t wait to train in person one day’ - Dallas, TX
    ‘Went to a recent competition with these videos fresh in my mind. I knew I had an edge and the confidence this gave me was unreal. Got the gold. All submission wins! - LA, California

    Most of the Jiu-jitsu guys in my school go to Bikram yoga. I know that particular yoga style focuses on knee and spine flexibility. The 105 degree temperature in the studio helps detoxify the body, and allows better circulation of synovial fluid in the joints. Good stuff

      Yes Angelo Bikram/hot yoga is tough but great for extra flexibility for sure! Happy rolling (-: Coach Tom

    What's up with load of negative comments?
    He's taking his time and knowledge to share thoughtful insights with basically complete strangers and half of y'all can't extract pearls of wisdom when they are directly in front of your face and / or even say thank you Professor Tom.
    Geez.
    Thanks for taking the time to share Professor Tom 🤙

    I am going to share a story. In training I have detected both pecs in a 2 year period. My left arm will never be the same. Problem lots of bench press and no stretching. Don't be me shoulder flexibility is so important.

    this really wasn't much of a how to video. All that was really said was that one should stretch. And... yea, okay. could you imagine putting out a video on how to pass the guard. And and then all it is someome sitting down, and saying for four minutes that you have to use a guard pass. To find one that works for you and practice it, and in 6 month your be able to pass the guard..Its like okay, good info on the obvious, but that wouldn't be a "how to" video. And likewise neither is.

      Fair comment. I will film my quick stretching routines tomorrow so that people can see exactly how I stretch before and after class. Have fun on the mats (-: Coach Tom

    Do you have any tips specifically for hip and leg flexibility?
    Other then that great videos choked a guy with the baseball bat choke on my last training(still a newbie with only 2 stripes on my white belt so every submission makes my day hah)

    • @TheGrapplingAcademy
      @TheGrapplingAcademy  5 років тому +2

      Just youtube generic stretching routines or yoga stuff. I think a lot of hip flexibility is genetic but most can be gained easily. (-: Tom Davey

      GetFit WithMe That's right. Except for maybe extreeemely rare cases with anatomical differences in joints, double jointed usually just means hyper mobile

    • @TheGrapplingAcademy
      @TheGrapplingAcademy  4 роки тому +3

      my current lifts (5 reps) sit at 330 bench, 500 deadlift, 450 squat. that's no suit/straps, garments etc just 5 reps with good form. (-: Tom Davey

    • @rossomeness3549
      @rossomeness3549 4 роки тому

      Solid numbers! I was focused on powerlifting before I started Jiu Jitsu and I think all the years strength training really translated well to BJJ.
      I work in Africa currently and I wanted to continue training and learning even though my gym is back home in Texas. I found your channel, so my teammates and I have been hooked on it since. I really appreciate you putting this on here!

    I thought flexibility takes a crazy long time to develop... This stuff confuses me.

    • @astraghost774
      @astraghost774 3 роки тому

      Getting moderately flexible can happen pretty quick when done daily.
      Putting your legs behind your head or something like that will take considerably more time.

    • @astraghost774
      @astraghost774 3 роки тому +1

      @@psyience3213 - To do the splits, you need to hold the stretch for long periods of time until the mind allows the muscle to relax. Look for videos by gymnasts or ballerinas explaining how to do it.

      Hi Perrin, My goal for this video is to simply encourage people to stretch, even briefly as so many people fail to do a minimum effective dose of stretching daily ands that is all it takes to get extremely flexible! Happy training (-: Coach Tom Davey

    It's quite literally impossible to become "the least flexible person in class, to the most flexible person in class in 6 months." That is literally impossible.

    • @FH-pn1tm

    Flexibility takes longer to develop than strength. Connective tissues adapt slower than bone and muscle.
