    I've been doing this for months and it has changed my life. I don't even train BJJ anymore but now I bike without pain, run without pain, and box without pain. And the soreness in my back is gone.

      Alexios! Thank you so much for letting me know. Honestly, hearing this kind of feedback makes me incredibly happy knowing that the content is helping people like you. I've heard many people mention about the benefit to the back too. Now I'll just have to make another to take it even further! Be sure to let your training partners know to. Thank you again, extremely grateful for the comments

      @@owenthomas9863 Not sure to be honest! I just wanted to do other things as well e.g, boxing, kickboxing, mechanical engineering, jazz piano, drawing, running, hunting. BJJ is great though and I could see myself getting back to it.

    Thank you , Laurence. This helps me a lot. I don't train bjj. I am just an old guy with stiff hips and want to move better.

    I just listened to your podcast, which is what lead me to these videos... both great resources! I thought I had pretty decent hip mobility until trying these stretches. Turns out, I've got a lot of work to do! The Frog Squat and Seated Knee Rotations were bloody tough! I couldn't get my feet flat like you do on the Frog Squat, which meant I sat pretty high. And I couldn't get my knees past 45° on the Seated Knee Rotation before feeling super tight. I'll be coming back to this video daily until I'm happy with my mobility. OSSS!

      Ryan Morse Hi Ryan - thank you so much for letting me know and also taking the time to watch and listen!! Really appreciate it.
      It’s a constant battle for me to, but bit by bit, it gets easier and easier. Feels great too. I love the frog squat when chilling in front of the TV at night. Great exercise.
      Let me know how you get on

    This is awesome. I am about 7-months post surgery for a torn labrum + FAI in my R-hip. After only 2 weeks of 2x / week, I feel this routine is really helping me get my tightness down and range of motion up. The only thing that really feels iffy for me is the cossack squats: I can't yet smoothly transition off the ball of my foot like you do, without losing my balance and feeling a lot of tightness in my groin.

    This routine feels great. Do you think it's ok to do it daily if your keeping it gentle? I just subscribed to your page, if you ever do a video dedicated to loosening tight hamstrings I'd be very excited to see that! Thanks

    • @BJJStrength
      @BJJStrength  4 роки тому

    Just came across this video and I can tell it's going to help a lot. Couple questions regarding the seated knee rotations: how far out are your feet from your body and how much separation is there between your feet?

    • @BJJStrength
      @BJJStrength  5 років тому

      Thanks Miguel. I really appreciate you letting me know, be sure to spread the word if it helps :)
      That's a great question. I would suggest your feet being shoulder width apart and with regards to distance of the feet away from the body, set it up so your shins form a 90 degree angle to the floor when they are pointing skyward.
      Does that make sense?

    • @pickofdestiny94
      @pickofdestiny94 5 років тому

      @@BJJStrength thanks for answering! Yes, it makes sense. Does it matter the angle my body has relative to the ground?

    • @BJJStrength
      @BJJStrength  5 років тому

      @@pickofdestiny94 another great question. Yes, if you're too low down (i.e. back close to the floor) it will open up the hips and make the exercise easier. Having the body between 45 and 90 degrees, based on what feels comfortable, is best

    One question, In the frog squats I can't get my heels to the floor, what do I do?

    • @BJJStrength
      @BJJStrength  4 роки тому

      Awesome!! I still do several of these stretches almost every day. It also helps if you foam roll the tissues too, particularly the psoas

  • @nunyabusiness1317
    @nunyabusiness1317 5 років тому

    When I do the second exercise my leg cannot stay at the 90 degree angle for some reason. My foot naturally bends back in towards me and if I try to force it to stay 90 degrees my knee will explode. It’s weird I know not sure why

    • @BJJStrength
      @BJJStrength  5 років тому

      For sure don’t force it. It might be worth spending some time dedicated to just this stretch. You can do the same stretch and put a pillow under the lead knee, which takes the pressure off. You can also place the lead knee on a bed. Then slowly work up to doing it on the floor. Does that make sense?

    • @nunyabusiness1317
      @nunyabusiness1317 5 років тому

    • @BJJStrength
