thankyou to that man that tried to stop the kidnapping, he did all that he could especially when risking his life for a stranger, hes truly an angel and i hope hes enjoying life
My wife died and the bank foreclosed on my house, I tried to appeal it but the same police that shook my hand tried arresting me. Just sort of existing now
Let's not forget the guy who tried to intervene in the kidnapping only to get pepper sprayed. It takes courage to be the first to intervene in a bad situation. That guy tried to do the right thing and help someone who was probably a stranger.
@@ancienttways The killers are the crazy ones. WTF, kidnapping and putting a zip tie around her neck then stabbing her and dumping her if a cesspool. Crazy f”cks
This case hits home. My father was a religious man and pastor and controlled my mother fully with the same logic for many, many years. Fortunately it did not end this savagely, but it came close. This is simply a prime example of narcissism. People using religion to back up their actions no matter how vile are dangerous.
It's much more common in these small towns that people who are narcissistic and status seeking do so within a church community, but since in the national cultural milieu traditional religion is not in power/high status, it doesn't happen very often. Then people use other institutions that have taken its place instead.
Dude, I'm so tired of people like you constantly making Christians look evil, manipulating, cult members. I was born, raised and still an active Baptist, and nobody I know acts like these people. There's bad in every group of people. It's funny, Islam is by far the most radical, cruel, homophonic, violent, misogynistic religion known to man, but you wouldn't dare say anything about them.
So sad, she thought she had escaped these pieces of crap. What a terrible way to die, and then putting her in the septic tank shows exactly how they felt about her. The mom should have gotten life too. Love your content
I admired the dead pan stares of the people in the back of the court room while the mother wailed on about her poor son. Such an incredibly stupid trio, born and bred in the good ole American Heartland, yeah!
Ahh yes the ole "fake a kidnapping and a strangling to snap some sense into the person you love, but oops they ended up dying" shtick. Totally relatable, I've done it a few times myself. A great bonding exercise as long as you do it right
Seriously I kept asking that, how do you expect this to play out, where you kidnap her and "convince" her and let her go and she then magically does what you say? Let's say a prayer for every poor girl who was born as a Mormon. Sounds like that's what these neanderthals wanted all along.
When someone cries on their way to prison, but tells of them murdering the victim like they’re chatting about NOTHING.. shows me they only cry for themselves. I know many evil families like this. Ruining their children by not teaching them to be accountable for their actions!
They were awful people themselves, why would they teach their child to be a good person? It benefits them more to keep everyone in their family down on their level. If a kid turns out cold and heartless, you can bet it came from their parents - no matter how "nice" they appeared to outsiders
@@tonyabrookes9931 It’s not that simple. Not nature OR nurture. Criminologists, psychologists, and researchers think it’s some of both. Remember, though, that a fraction of a fraction of those raised by shitty parents will never go on to harm/kill ANYONE. 🙋🏼♀️ Raising my hand b/c I had a substandard upbringing. Birth parents, adoptive parents, foster parents. My mom was severely mentally ill. She killed herself. With her, it was just neglect and instability. My adoptive parents were hateful, cruel, & abusive. My foster parents - all of them - were WONDERFUL. I was on my own at 17. Joined the USMC at 20. Became a single mom a few years later. My son is now 34 & a Marine Corps veteran himself. I was married for 20 years, now divorced. I’ve never smoked or taken any illegal drug (not even pot), and if I have one or two glasses of wine per year . . . that’s unusual. I have no criminal history. I have never physically harmed anyone. Additionally, my son is a good man. Again, no criminal history, no history of addiction, no kids floating around out there. He came out of the Corps pretty banged up. He’s been happily married for seven years. Works like a dog. He’s intelligent, humble, and very laid-back. My daughter-in-law is lovely, kind, and BRILLIANT (working on her Masters in Chemistry! 😬) Then there’s the opposite scenario: lots of criminals and murderers who were raised in “good homes” by “good people.” Following your theory, shouldn’t kids raised like that be “good” people, too? Petty criminals, con artists, addicts, everyday sociopaths, murderers, batterers, rapists, pedophiles . . . come from intact homes, well-to-do homes, religious homes, highly educated parents. The “perfect” upbringing. What’s to account for them, huh? No, it’s NOT nature OR nurture because no family is perfect. Doesn’t exist. Maybe they spoil one child and he turns out to a decent human being. They spoil another child and that kid goes on to be a narcissist from hell. So please stop thinking you know what you cannot know. Maybe it makes you feel important or better or whatever. But you’re just plain wrong.
@@windwoman3549 If you look at any of the cons, murderers, psychopaths, narcissists that come from deprived, abusive homes, you can be certain that there were “defective genes” in their family. I’ve seen this with my gr grandfather who has passed down the “selfish narcissist gene” as well other socially defective character genes.
From The True Crime Room 9/4/2021: "Summer’s parents are currently raising the pair’s three children. Summer’s mother stated that it’s extremely hard for her to provide the children with answers. She claims they ask how their mother passed and when they can spend time with their “nana” and “pawpaw” (affectionate terms for grandma and grandpa)." That's just heartbreaking.
What do you mean when you say”she claims they ask how their mother passed”. Who is asking about who passing? The kids are asking how their mother passed? Candus? Huh?

This is exactly what always gets me. Especially when kids or torture is involved. Like the woman that let her husband keep a woman under their bed for seven years. It’s disgusting. I understand the level of manipulation involved with abusive men but I don’t care how much you brainwash me. I am confident I would never ever be able to stand by for anything like this. You would think that maternal instinct would kick in or something. I feel like the women are almost worse than the men that do it. Makes me sick.

When I first discovered Mike he barely had a following and I bought a hoodie from him. No one knew who's merch I had. Now I go in public with this same hoodie and get so many That Chapter fans coming to me. I love it that he is getting the well deserved love.
What an utterly vile family. The apple certainly didn’t fall far from the tree here. All this poor girl wanted was to be loved. And my heart breaks for those 3 little kids. Left with no mum and a piece of shit for a dad who killed her. RIP Summer ❤️ A massive shout out to Mike once again for his witty but sensitive attitude towards the victim. You’re so consistent and loved by everybody ❤️
That letter she wrote is really sad. To feel trapped like that must be unbearable. A lot of women must be in this situation, married early with kids and no higher education so you would feel like there is no way out. Not a good way to be.
Mom was treated that way ,had to wear a dress had to do all the cleaning cooking and no jobs allowed ,real old testament regime there ,but it all collapsed on them mom didn't stay to be cheated on and supposed to look the other way so family reputation wasn't trashed smh
Not just women. I married myex young. Luckily we never had kids together but I put a lot of stuff on "hold" to take care of and support her after the marriage.(she had cerebral palsy). Then after 10 years she ran off with someone she met online and left me holding the bag on everything and too old to really go back to a lot of the stuff I put on "hold".
@@ancienttways So you know all the details of their relationship? It was stated that they were fighting. And given the way it ended, there were VERY likely red flags among that whole family. Those people were sick. Someone wants out of your life....LET THEM GO! It's not like she was trying to take the kids away from the Inmans, which shows a certain maturity...unlike the monsters that took her life.
In her diary she's talking about how she deserves to be loved to feel love, that she no longer loves her husbands, so she's thinking about a new relationship before ending her current one. she taunted him, took the new guy with her to pick up stuff, rubbing him in to her husbands face, she could of taken her father or even the police if she felt unsafe, u don't take the boy friend unless u want to stir crap up, he attacks not her but the new guy, then his denied custody and she post happy family snaps with their kids and the new guy, why not make her account private? Because she is taunting him. Nothing she did deserved her being killed and I hope they rot in jail. But her behaviour is a factor in her murder.
Terrible people man and I know the guy that intervened feels so bad he couldn't save her but he has to know that he's a Hero and when I say very few I literally mean very few people would of had the courage and heart that he has .... He's a hell of a human being that deserves respect 👏💪✊✊
Parents with an ego are the scariest kind of parents. They really don’t understand that parenthood is about the _kids_ not about _them_ and it terrifies me how many of them are out there.
From what is released to the press this "trend" of multiple family members being involved in the murder (over custody) seems to be strong in Ohio. I already found this phenomenon intriguing, before Mike mention what happened to Summer. Do all these families think they are smarter than the one's caught/prosecuted? Weird, and crazy!
I can't ever get my head around how Summer became so irrelevant and so easily disposable in a family, which she'd been part of, for years. Did they even spare a thought for the children, who would be left with no mother? Obviously, they were so intelligent, that they believed they were committing the perfect crime? What a bunch of serious scumbags. Poor girl. Poor kids.
I guess to them, they saw her as being cruel to leave their family. Once you’re out, you’re as good as dirt to them. They probably saw the disruption of their family as harmful to the children, thus, doubling down on the lack of consideration for Summer. That being said, it doesn’t excuse what they did.
This one hit hard. She must've been so scared for herself AND her children. She was probably praying that they wouldn't get custody without her there. How horrible
Thank you Mike you've saved me from a boring evening yet again. Can't believe that the Mum had the audacity to apologise for what they did to the family. 15 years for her part in this was not enough. I'm lost for words about the father and son fingers crossed prison won't be kind to them. My only hope is that those children find happiness after having their mum ripped out of their lives.
OMG...really? I mean, AT LEAST SHE APOLOGIZED!! Did any of both murderers do so????? Iiiiii don’t think so!!! At least she had a little bit of humanity left on her... And she was the one to confess: you know how hard is to make a murderer confess? I agree with Mike: it was NOT HER, those two dragged her into this: and the way she was crying when she apologized, oh, girl, you can tell it is authentic!!! The other two look rather proud to me of what they had done...

Ever notice how in every murder case involving children the defense invariably invokes alleged child abuse against the victim, even lacking any evidence? It's despicable.
it's the modern witchcraft yellout('they were a danger to community, i did society a favor' much like you'd say a witch was a danger to community to get rid of the person for whatever reasons you had). likewise if you skiv someone for whatever dumb reason, you can always just make the claim the victim was a chomo.

Law enforcement & the CJ system needs to take animal cruelty much more seriously. It's a red flag for a reason and, as we see in so many cases like this, indicative of what could be next.
This was twelve years ago. I think more cities and states are more aware now. I think it was Italy. Where a man who killed his wife and hung the family dog received time added to his sentence for the pups murder as well. I salute the judge ...
Yeah, as cruel as industrial farming practices are it's frowned upon to throw animals from a moving vehicle. If you harm animals just because you can or are upset, you should go to jail for some period of time and have court ordered counseling. We need to figure out what the fck is wrong with you before you get to just walk around freely again. I don't have kids, but I don't want these people near anyone's until we know what's up.
19:45 Sandra trying to convince the court that she and her husband had "twisted their son, Will, into doing it" is one of the only things I'd trust from this lady. They DID raise a twisted monster. Yep. But the fact that she thinks that makes him not responsible for his heinous actions is hilariously horrifying. As if he's a 4th grader who got caught cheating on a test. We all know how Young Will got out of trouble and never learned consequences or boundaries as a kid.
I don't actually believe it was her idea - and certainly don't believe she twisted anyone into doing it. Will's approach to his wife was likely taken from the way he saw his mother treated in the home. Her crime here was being obedient.
@@rustinstardust2094 well yeah she aided but that makes it sound like she just followed along, when, no, she was driving the abduction vehicle or else she was one of the masked people grabbing Summer, so she assisted, took part in it willingly,, abducting & terrorizing, kidnapping and murdering the mother of her 3 grandchildren ! You'd think any sane decent human being who has given birth herself, would understand how much a mother means to a child ALL oF their life, and the fact that these 3 yahoos decided to just rip that love away from those kids is one of the worst things, one of the most abusive things anyone could do to a kid. She let them or helped them put her in a septic tank and acted like she didn;'t know where Summer was, for days... I went to church with Summer and her family. Summers sister and brother in law were in my first wedding back in 2009. I remember this like yesterday… horrible horrible crime.
Very sad. Summer had the guts to break free from that crazy family, was a dedicated mom, tried to pull her own bootstraps up in a job and those miserable control freaks killed her. Let Summer's children know of their mother's character and strength.
So sad, the diary entry saying she doesn't want her kids to know her as a slave who did what she was told. Her kids can know that she was brave enough to leave this crazy crazy family. RIP Summer.
I am still mouth a gape.... in shock. Mike every week you bring to light cases that I have not heard of.... this one hit me hard. Is "Happy Life" a new slang term for strange penis? I love how everybody just ignores that SHE DECIDED TO CHEAT. She could have gotten a divorce at any time. And taken every dime her husband would ever make.

@@CowSaysMooMoo Don't recall anyone claiming she was a scholar. She married young, into a family where'd that's the way I was. In the beginning, he would've pretended how sorry he was, promised he'd never do it again, swore to change, cried even, "Ohh baby, don't leave me, I'll kill myself. It's all just because I love you so much". Wait 3 to 4 months for her to start to trust him again, think he's really changing his abusive ways and WHAM. He does it again. He keeps her at home, pregnant if possible and reliant on him for severe cent he unwillingly ever gives her. He cuts her off from her family, her friends any sources of support for her by treating them bad so they'll stay away, by ;ying about her to everyone. He beats her down by ignoring her needs, period, by treating her shitty, even when he is not actively hitting her or blowing the grocery money or cheating on her. He keeps her depressed and unable to think by all that plus never helping her with the children or anything, loading more stiff on her than she should have to deal with. The pattern goes on until she gives up and wants out. And even real scholars have fallen prey to these nuts.
Oh! I know this one! A "city" is defined by its form of government--usually with a mayor above a city council. Towns are usually run by town meeting or town councils. Once you get down to villages and townships, I don't know--you're on your own. But I live in a very small city, and wondered why it is a "city" and discovered it's not to do with how big or small or wealthy a place is, only who's in charge of picking up the garbage.
Do you understand how long it would take for a person to be strangled with a zip tie(or anything I guess)? It would be a very slow and drawn out process. She may have lost consciousness after like 20 or 25secs I'm thinking. So there would have Been about a ten minute time period where she was actually strangling due to the zip tie. Which means all 3 of these people had plenty of time to attempt to save her. Certainly not a "blackout" type of situation as they are saying happened. She likely died very slowly and I feel so horrible for her family and friends. 3 monsters for sure. I pray the justice is harsh.
People strangled on TV die in a conveniently short space of time. Your post reminds me of one of those dumb criminal videos I saw. 2 guys (not bright), kidnap (to get his PIN) a guy strangle him (TV style) when he passes out they assume he's dead (don't check) toss the body in a dumpster and off they go. A while later the 'victim' crawls out of the dumpster and goes to the police.
Approximately eight minutes for death by strangulation, around 90 seconds to cut off blood flow during a choke hold, rendering a person unconscious. We were taught this during urban warfare training during the Iraq War.
Summer didn't deserve to die, with that said, she didn't have the right to use her children as pawns and just replace their father. Women are constantly using children during divorce to inflict pain on the man. She was a monster in her own right.
@@TheRoadhammer379 with the exception of the photo with the kids & the new boyfriend, which MAY have been posted to cause upset, there’s no evidence that she used the kids as pawns. It's sadly quite a common thing to find people who claim to be Christian doing the most un-Christian things in thought, word and deed. The hypocrisy in some religious people is sometimes truly breath taking, how do they do these things yet continue to call themselves religious? I say religious rather than specifically "Christian" because that kind of behaviour isn't just a Christian thing, it's something that is seen by people practicing all kinds of faiths.
I feel it's because of that wretched "prosperity doctrine" that has been around since the seventies. The laser focus on wealth (the ridiculous notion that one's financial wealth is solely relative to one's level of faith in God and commitment to same - a Las Vegas God, if you like) has made it far too easy for scammers and grifters to start churches. If America would start taxing ALL religious institutions, it would cut back on 75% of that crap. I grew up in it; I have inside knowledge.

Wow, what a sad end to a beautiful and caring woman, treated like a slave and when she tried to break free they killed her. Everyone deserved the death penalty in that case, no exceptions.
Hey Mike, great storytelling! So sad that Summer's children have to go through life without her. I'm glad those Inmans got what they deserved. Have a fantastic weekend!

Everybody loves Mike, but what did you think of this horrific murder? If I knew that poor girl who was murdered, I would wonder why Mike gets more attention than the story itself - poor Summer.
Great job as always Mike! Could you look into the Bentler Family Murders that occurred in Bonaparte, Iowa in 2006? Horrifying story of Shawn, 22, slaying his entire family...
I grew up with Summer as my neighbor. We were never that close, but we played some as children. She was the nicest, sweetest girl. It broke me when I heard this happened.
No you didn't. Why would you lie about something like this? How do I know? Because I grew up with Summer as my beighbor. We were never that close, but we played some as children. She was the nicest, sweetest girl. It broke me when I heard this happened.
Can't tell if you're trolling or not. Our families went to the same church. We were in the same neighborhood, few houses down the road. To be fair my brother and I hung out with her older brother mostly and played basketball, but there were occasions when we were younger when we all played as kids. Feels awkward to have to defend myself and be called a liar here, but whatever. I tried to keep it short for the sake of not writing a novel in the comments. There's a ton more details I could tell but I'm going to leave it at this because, well I don't think anyone really cares about my story too much, this isn't about me. I was just trying to give some context about what I knew and experienced, I can say for certain she didn't deserve this.
@@mearlyEDIT: I screwed up the quote. frankly, I don't believe you either. It sucks but people lie about little things to make themselves interesting, and some people like me have trust issues when it comes to accept anonymous people at their word. Do I hope you're not lying? Of course. So did the guy who replied I take it; he was joking about the fact that upon first seeing your comment, he opened the replies to see who called you a liar. "Usually it's not something great!" No, these stories are usually shocking, or sad, or unbelievable, but you telling them makes them better. Because, you do so much research and take time to put these stories together, so I always enjoy watching them, another great video, Mike!! ❤❤❤
"When they engage in activity that ends in the result of another." Uh...wot? Anyway what I actually intended to say was that as a mother, I can't imagine encouraging my sons to treat people the way "Willie" treated Summer. Having said that, if I participated in the kidnapping and murder of my daughter in law - and it was my idea - I'd at least have the loyalty to lie and say I did it alone. Sheesh. She's awful no matter which way you look at it. Those 3 evil, soulless, rotten apples came from the same decaying, wormy, splintered tree.
This reminds me of the Kelsey Berreth case in Colorado where Crazee Patrick Frazee used Kelsey's noggin for fungo practice. I still think his mother was in on it because she stood to be the baby's primary caretaker with Kelsey out of the way and she was feeding Patrick lies about Kelsey being an abusive mother. Just like that case, this was all about the grandchildren and what would happen when the ex-hubby was out of the picture. Summer must have really hated Willy because she left him to get a job cleaning a bank after hours which can't pay very much. Well, now Bill can start a new ministry in prison.
How sad , those children have only 1 pair of grandparents and that’s it …… the children always pay in crazy schemes like this one……, the children carry the burden of no mom for the rest of their life’s. RIP Summer

Sounds like our ol' pal Chris Watts...
I admired the dead pan stares of the people in the back of the court room while the mother wailed on about her poor son. Such an incredibly stupid trio, born and bred in the good ole American Heartland, yeah!
So agree
I have a thing for older women. Like 85 to 90 years old. There also has to be some type of inheritance involved. What are you doing this weekend
Yes and did they have to use the f$&!ing septic tank?! Talk about adding insult to injury.
It's really creepy how on the outside what appeared to be normal looking people end up resulting to things like this.

It’s not that simple.
Then there’s the opposite scenario: lots of criminals and murderers who were raised in “good homes” by “good people.” Following your theory, shouldn’t kids raised like that be “good” people, too?

Its extra creepy when a woman - a mom - supports this happening to another woman who has children. That level of callousness is so scary.

What a bunch of serious scumbags. Poor girl. Poor kids.
I guess to them, they saw her as being cruel to leave their family. Once you’re out, you’re as good as dirt to them. They probably saw the disruption of their family as harmful to the children, thus, doubling down on the lack of consideration for Summer. That being said, it doesn’t excuse what they did.

To know that all you need is fresh start in life but having that held against you is indeed Insidious and horrendous .
I shall Not forget Summer's story any time soon . I am thankful for the verdict , hope that everyone that loved Summer reminds her children every day how much she loves them , and to Mike for giving Summer a voice here that was stolen from her . We Love you Mike and intrigued for the next one here .

They are all adults and old enough to know right from wrong, they made that decision together. She got off lightly. All Summer wanted was to live a happy life which is what we all want without living a life with controlling bully’s. RIP Summer, may you find peace where you are.
A story of our very freedoms. 🔫
A woman trying to make a living for her kids, and got involved with sociopaths. Sad.

If you've never been with an abusive controlling nut, let me fill you in how it went down.
Very uninteresting and nothing to do with the subject but... yes, I guess.🤫
@@polarbearsrus6980 - had you been paying attention to what Mike said, you would know it is exactly On topic !

@@TheRoadhammer379 somebody needs a hug

Many demons like these ones love to hide behind Gods name to avoid others knowing what they truly are.
So what you're saying is atheists and satanists are kind, loving, moraled, well behaved people, huh? Yeah it's just religious people who do bad things.
Poor Summer. I escaped from a very similar situation. I made it out alive, but very traumatized. I could not bring my child (middle school age) I know first hand how all this goes down. There are not adequate words to express my utter disgust with Bill, Will and Susan.

People who have never been there can never understand what it is like and the terrible choices you sometimes have to make to survive. You made sure your son was safe, and then got out. When it goes to trial these pieces of trash always say "well i thought the kids were in danger" despite them never mentioning it before the trial, and never went to the cops. I was born n raised in Springfield Ohio and was still living down there when this happened. The whole "I want 12 kids and a 2nd wife" was absolutely absurd!!! But I remember this happening specifically bc they put her in the septic tank behind their church. There's a ton more details I could tell but I'm going to leave it at this because, well I don't think anyone really cares about my story too much, this isn't about me.
