Originally, I hated Travis' character but as the seasons went on, I liked how he grew up and became more mature. It made sense that he went with Bay. I liked Emmett better in the beginning but not at the end.
I think we were meant to feel that way about Travis’s development. He and Bay both weren’t the most likable people in the beginning of the show. Vanessa and Ryan have both openly talked about what a journey both Travis and Bay have had just as individuals and went from both being kind of bratty and entitled. Daphne and Emmett seem like such stable teenagers compared to them at the beginning of the series but we quickly see Daphne’s own personal issues with her dad and possessiveness of Regina. Emmett obviously cheated on bay and then broke up with her and WROTE a movie about her assault :|
Yes, they turned Emmet into a jerk and Travis was so negative in the beginning. However, knowing he was sexually molested as a child and his parents never bothered to learn sign language, it made sense how Travis was at first. Emmet though, never made sense. Including when he hooked up with Samone. I forgave him for that, but I could not forgive him for how he treated Bay.
I was surprised at how much I ended up liking them together. I was a die hard Bemmett fan, and I'll admit even now I still believe with enough time and trust rebuilt they could have (and perhaps did) find one another again. However, after everything that happened I think Travis was exactly what Bay needed. Their relationship was surprisingly profound and root worthy. I'm just glad that Bay learned from her mistakes and is happy. That's really what I wanted most.
How people can still ship Bay and Emmett after this, I will never understand. Travis is a good guy. He cares for Bay, even when their relationship was only strictly platonic. He apologizes to Bay when he messes up. Their relationship is healthy, mature, and built on mutual trust. I'm glad they were endgame.
True but Bay and Emmett had something SPECIAL. It was true love and then matters of convienence are thrown in the wind and nothing else matters. It is something in the way that Bay and Emmett looks at eachother, something Travis and Bays relationship lacks. Emmett might have hurt Bay more than Travis ever will but in my opinion he also made her happier nad loved her more passionately.
I love how they were friends, became best friends, and how they always trusted each other and were there for each other. Travis trusted Bay with the truth that he never told anyone because he wanted her to be comforted by the fact she was not alone. Bay also relied on him and you can tell, despite getting mad at him, appreciated that he protects her.

I think Travis just gives off more “Grown man vibes” than Emmett. Emmett was attractive in a teenage leather jacket wearing motorcyclist. But I feel like Travis has an awareness of his own sexuality that Emmett doesn’t really have. Especially with Bay.
I loved bay and emmett but i actually like bay and travis more. i think it was unfair the way emmett reacted to them when all she was doing was getting over him because he broke he heart, it just happened to be one of his friend who fixed it.
This was great! I absolutely love Bay and Travis. After what the writers did to Emmet, his breaking up with Bay and the way it happened. There was no going back from that. Travis and Bay I think are even better. LOVE THEM!

As someone who was in a relationship eerily similar to Bay and Emmetts, I will say that it was beautiful at the start...and it had some bright moments. But no matter how good it starts, things have a way of turning toxic if one or both people don't fight to make things work. Guess what? Relationships take work and that's what I love about Bay and Travis, they built their's on a mutual understanding and they work at it to keep it healthy and beautiful. ❤
I remember when I used to squeal when cute moments happened between Bay and Emmett. I now smile awkwardly at the screen when I see Travis and Bay together. I would have never seen them together but i'm glad that I did get to see it.
Hmm. Never watched this show but it came up as a suggestion with the Bemmett storyline. But after watching both I’d Bavis is way more mature and heartfelt than Bemmett. Sometimes it’s better to build something that started from friendship than one that didn’t.
ElleStone it does seem a lot like that from the outside and I’m sure a LOT of diehard Switched at Birth fans would agree, and so do I. Honestly, Bay and Emmett are toxic for each other. They fought over everything, and were on again off again for the longest time. I have to admit, though, I wish that they would have gotten back together. Emmett and Bay are never fully going to get over each other. Bay is definitely happy with Travis, and I’m sure she’s over Emmett, but, like she said herself, when Emmett told her he wanted her back, she had the tiniest bit of her that wanted to get back together. Emmett, on the other hand, did not hide his feelings whatsoever, but I think he’s stepped back. Bay and Travis deserve to be happy, but if they had had a messy breakup, I just know she would look to Emmett for support
A little late to the party here, but I just wanted to say when watching this as a young teenager, all those years ago when it was on ABC Family, I shipped Bay with Emmett. However, now rewatching as an adult I ship Bay with Travis. I feel like when I was younger and I watched the show I was attracted to the passion, tension, and drama that came with Bay and Emmett’s relationship. I feel like I thought that was what being in love was; being so in love that you overlook your partner’s indiscretions. As an adult I’ve realized that love is stability, trust, and communication. That is why I like Bavis. He doesn’t run or let her push him away when things get hard. He owns up to his mistakes and always is there for her. Sorry for the long post.

I didn’t like how they made Mary Beth extremely insecure and then she ended up with Tank. Yes, Tank was a decent guy but what he did still hurt Bay and for Mary Beth to say “too bad Bay got r**ped she should have known better” to dating that same guy while Bay is her supposed best friend… I think at the end her insecurity brought Bay and Travis together. I was a die hard Bay Emmett fan but the moment he walked away to be with Skye, it was all over. I wish they would do a 10 years later episode or something with the original cast.. just a little more to feel the closure lolx

Not only do they communicate with each other without fear of lack of support but they also love each other to an extent that is beautiful. Bay's relationship with Emmett was great to watch on TV but it was filled with toxicity because whenever they had a fight Emmett would run away and Bay would try to make it work but Emmett would be so caught up in what she did, that he would miss out on the opportunity to make it right with her. Then when he finally was ready to make it right Bay would either be waiting or she would've moved on.

Emmett was sweet and nice boyfriend back in season 1, Bemmett chemistry was the reason I continued to watch the show. But their relationship was also toxic. Bay need someone who strong enough to stand his ground but also love and look after her both. Emmett had to grow up and figure his life out before he could have good relationship. So in the end, I love Travis and Bay together. They could look after each other and support each other.

I loved this show since the first season. Travis was my favorite character on my show. Ryan Lane was so amazing at playing Travis. Ryan Lane fit Travis so well. I knew that Travis and Bay were gonna end up together in the end. I love Ryan Lane. He's so cute.
I am a huge fan of this amazing deaf actor Ryan Lane. I absolutely love him and his character. I loved hearing him speak. I would love to meet him. I myself am in a deaf\ hearing relationship. I'm hearing and my boyfriend Joel Lane is totally deaf and has Aspergers Syndrome. I am fluent in ASL. I absolutely love my deaf boyfriend Joel Lane just like Travis loved Bay.

After a lot of thinking I came to the conclusion that I am very happy about Bay ending up with Travis kind of. I mean I was a hardcore Bemmett shipper but Emmett messed up so bad so many times and it is not really forgiveable in my opinion so Travis is so much better for her. Besides the Emmett I shipped Bay with isn't really the same anymore and I really do love Travis as a character

Honestly I like them together... sure it's not what I expected at first, but you don't always end up with your first love, that's not realistic. Travis was good to Bay, better than Emmett by a long shot.

I liked Emmett at the beginning but he started to get more irritating as the season went on. I definitely didn’t like the fact that he got mad at Travis when he wasn’t even intentionally tryna get with Bay in Mexico, that was all Bay’s doing and Travis didn’t lie when he said that Emmett treated Bay like dirt. Dumped her in LA after all she went through. He act like he didn’t even give af about her getting taken advantage of. But now he mad cause she all in travis. Mane fk you go be with skye

Emmett was sweet and nice boyfriend back in season 1, Bemmett chemistry was the reason I continued to watch the show. But their relationship was also toxic. Bay need someone who strong enough to stand his ground but also love and look after her both. Emmett had to grow up and figure his life out before he could have good relationship. So in the end, I love Travis and Bay together. They could look after each other and support each other.
