Well done MAG it shows we are so much stronger together. Lots of much harder battles ahead, but hopefully we will achieve the goals of the motorcycling community. Keep up the good work.
Dont forget bikers this is a good result but there will be lots more in the future I live in the Isle of Man and am glad I have just joined MAG we need a voice to take these bullies on.
Huge kudos to you all for leading the campaign and push back on this and getting Northern Rail to reverse a policy which we all know would have been the thin end of the wedge and would have become a standard policy across the rest of the country. Thank you.
Nice one. 1200GS rider here living in York. I think MAG have been tremendous on this Whitby / whistle stop issue and, as a user of the cafe, I thank you all. You also have a new member in the New Year. 🙏👍
That's great news. I first came to hear about this from "That bloke on a motorbike", it's things like this that we as motorcyclists need to start pushing back on. The public perception of motorcyclists has been undermined for decades by media and politicians and enough is enough. Where I live (Scotland) you only ever hear about motorbikes when someone gets killed, but you never hear the same for car users. It's all very anti-biker.
I live in Central Scotland myself and have been a MAG member for years and totally agree with what you said. You don't hear about all the good charity work that bikers do, just the biker fatalities, sadly.
@@alistairshaw3206 A question for you, if I may? Given that many of these motorcycle groups are based down south do you think it is a worthwile thing to join when you live where we live. Do thay have enough sway with non-English regional bodies to make a difference?
One of the protest rides I was involved in was the ban on learner motorcyclists on the new Queensferry crossing. We got learner motorcyclists on to the old Forth bridge. Otherwise, it would have been a long diversion via the Kincardine bridge for them. We need more members everywhere, especially in Scotland. So go ahead and join MAG. Us bikers need more help to keep our lifestyle. Where do you live? I'm in Cumbernauld myself.
@@alistairshaw3206 Dundee. They used to do gatherings here and the first thing that happened was the cops would turn up with camera vans and start videoing everyone, it was hugely oppressive.
Excellent news!! This sets a predcedent which will make it more difficult for any other organisations who might be thinking of going down a similar path. Well done to all involved!!
We the motorcycle community are very greatful for your efforts, let's hope now people using the carpark obey the rules , so both parties remain happy for the future
I'm a car driver but visit whitby quite a lot, i always park in the co-op car park, i'm so glad bikers have been allowed back on the car/Motorcycle park, i fully support Bikers over this action, i have been to the whistle stop many times & the Bikers are a great bunch of people & i love to see all the bikes on show, Respect to Bikers everywhere.
Very well done, congratulations to all involved. People power - you’ve now. got to let the virtue posturing politicians know the UK, despite their recent efforts is still a Democracy, where the Politicians are “EMPLOYED” by the Citizens to carry out the will pf the MAJORITY - not their own hair brained and totally unscientific emotive whims based on radical, minority activist wishes. Good luck guys (from Oz) 😁👍🇦🇺
I’m going to join , iv been riding all my life, been in some bike clubs & that , as you the demo needs to be large , but joining should be considered the same as putting on a crash helmet or a good jacket , numbers count .
Well done to all involved in this. The decision to try and outlaw motorcycles from Whitby station car park appeared to have been arrived at without any prior public consultation. It smacks of arrogance on the part of the decision maker as he or she didn’t think the m/c community was anything other than a disorganised oily rabble. The signed were rather amateurish, contained a spelling howler and failed to cite which (if any) of the “Byelaws” (sic) would be contravened. Heartening that the Railway company finally caved but it’s clear they would not have done so without coming under pressure from MAG and others.
Well done ...great result lads...but at the end of the day we can stop whinging and always use the massive carpark behind the co - op ... after a long ride the the 2 minute walk to the Whistle stop is a blessing 😉👍🏻
What you're missing is that once they've banned the sale of new cars and motorcycles, be it in 2030, 2035 or some other year or even if it never ends up happening, there will still be millions of cars and motorcycles on the roads for as long as we can keep them going. The thing we need to fight is that they will start to ration the petrol, either by increasing the cost until it is completely unaffordable or by limiting supply. The result being that you are unable to use your petrol car or motorbike!
i was at the whistlestop cafe today and parked in the big car park over the road from the whistlestop as its free for bikes, when i got to the cafe the 2 bays for bikes outside the cafe were full of bikes and i thought oh jeez parking tickets for this lot then they were all showing me the latest news that bikes can use the car park again Oh Yesssss, the signs are still up at the entrance but the whistlestop say they are due to be removed. so good on everybody that email/contacted network rail...
Excellent, well done guys. It just proves how nonsensical the regulation was in the first place, just a we don't like it so ban it mentality! The battle to stop the ban on the internal combustion engine is going to be tough though, it might be worthwhile to combine forces with other affected groups, like the car world. Personally, I will never buy or use an electric powered vehicle of any type, but I think thats what they want ultimately, for no one to have personal transport, so it is an existential problem. The vast majority of people are just sleep walking into the void though, they have no idea of what the elite are attempting to do, so it's vital that the word is spread far and wide. How about MAG getting bike dealers to offer MAG membership at the point of sale of every bike sold, maybe with a sweetner of some kind? Many bikers also drive cars so it's an easy way to get the message over. Just a thought, I know you guys are on the ball.👍
As for electric vehicles, its been shown time and time again, they are ultimately far worse for the environment from mining the rare earth materials needed, to disposal of the limited life batteries. And how will people recharge the EV’s ? - already we have the “woke” politicians saying please don’t charge EVs, use home A/C, washing machines etc at certain times, because the sabotaged (limited bas-load power due to insane reliance on unreliable renewables) Power Grid can’t handle the load. Utter stupidity from virtue posturing, ignorant, self important politicians the world over.
@@heleti0000 Agreed. However, I recently saw Jeremy Hunt being interviewed on the power grid and for the first ever that I've seen he stated that the grid had to have at least 3 times it's prevailing capacity to cope with future demand, and in fact work on increasing capacity is in progress. So they are serious about the electric car scourge. Problem is, they are still intent on increasing wind and solar generation, as those are the only so called renewable sources available with existing technology. Still doesn't resolve the base load issue though. Until fusion becomes commercially viable, if that ever happens, the only other solution is nuclear. That's a 10 year minimum build though and very expensive. So with their existing green agenda they will be looking to reducing consumption, so it's easy to see where that's going!
That's fantastic news Thursday nights wouldn't be the same without a good run to whitby and have a cup of coffee and look at the beautiful machines that park there very well done to MAG for getting this tradition to keep going.
They want money everyone wants money. Nothing for free in uk. Even the toilets cost money in whitby. Campsites cost more than a b&b. Scarborough has good m/c parking go there instead boycott whitby
Northern were always going to have to backdown, they would have been in contravention of the byelaws laid down in the Railways Act so wouldnt have stood up if taken to court. Banning notices were possibly actioned by someone at Northern far exceeding their authority. Just enforcing a ban would have to be done by the Railway Police as only in extraordinary circumstances do the "normal" Police get involved in anything taking place on railway land. MAG please press for more m/c bays at the station, you may find support from Whitby council, the town thrives on tourism & anti m/c sentiment is rightly in decline in this country.
Well done . This is a victory for our biker groups. This might make other comapnys think before they act . Again well done . If the Government even try to stop petrol bikes being sold then they will have to have a re think becasue theres no way that this is going to happen. 👍👍👍👍

Well I wonder how many people who used this car park, and were turfed out just for being a motorcyclist will now join MAG as a way of saying, " Thank You "??.
So they've changed their mind, great, but why pay the same price to park as a car and put 2 bikes in one space. Seems they're trying to double their profit to me.
People don’t ride motorcycles to pay parking fees ,once bikers start paying to park, it will embolden others all over the U.K. to start charging to park motorcycles . I have never paid to park a motorcycle in my life & I don’t intend to start now . To me motorcycling is my religion & anyone banning motorcycles is discriminating against my religion . Give these parking upstarts an inch & they will take a metre ,no parking fees or bans to motorcycles anywhere !
Yah I don't think that is a big deal regarding the ban on the sale of petrol vehicles in 2030 or 35 as probably by then none petrol bikes will be better than petrol bikes. Also where are you going to get your petrol from if petrol stations stop selling petrol and turn into charging stations. Electric motorcycles can be very good, what we are still waiting for is the main companies to produce those really good electric motorcycles. There was a university that made an emotircycke that travelled the world, why was that never put out on the market with a few tweaks to suit everyday riders. I'm in favour of electric bikes they ride better than gasoline bikes, so smooth and responsive very little noise, the cops don't even know your there until you pass them silently. So their not ready to give you a ticket for going a little over the speed when they are doing their checks, you mostly only ha e to worry about the automated systems 😅.
