Mel Gibson had a gift on film. From here in 1979 with Mad Max through Lethal Weapon movies to his masterpiece Braveheart. He has the talent to play a protagonist that lost everything to seek revenge
Ransom could be thrown in there too
What about "Apocalypto". The best Movie.
@@Balt9mmRansom he still has his wife, insanely rich. Not near the desperation of Max, Riggs, or William Wallace.
Obviously the patriot
@@kylesawkon4074 I forgot about that movie
When he walks into that garage and you hear the supercharger always sends a chill down my back..classic scene.
Yeah .. def
Ufff that sound is Epic. When last V8 interceptor's engine starts... It gives me chills
Imagine if he walked in that garage and all they had was early honda civics. " sorry team we had to down grade, global warming"

It's more like a beast waking than an engine starting.
@@serverlan763 I would hope it at least sounded like gooses Z1000 😂🤤
The man who lost everything became mad with rage and thirsty for revenge. He lost his wife and child to gang members. Once they were gone, he became Mad Max. A man with only two instincts: Survive and Vengeance.
If I didn’t kill myself first I would spend every breath of live trying to hunt them down
He is the anti christos. And the biker gang is the Abrahamics. Because the Bible says the Beast will have power over the saints and destroy them. And Mad Max should be coming any minute. That is why all governments are being demonized and will be taken down.
Your definitely Right, this is basically he's origin Story of how It All started
The first move was about Max losing his humanity. The Road Warrior was about him regaining it. That could have been the entire Max Rockantansy saga.
Beyond the Thunderdome was basically a loose re-telling of Road Warrior, and Fury Road has very little to do with the prior films at all.
I got older, I can' t see this scene without tears.
Me neither
I do too.
Same here.
Same, as Max is running down the road towards his wife and kid, the music, just hits a lot harder now that I'm older, and as a father myself. This movie left a lasting impression, the gritty realism is what really stuck with me even watching it as a youngster.
Literally every man's worst nightmare
This is a very important clip because this is the moment Max became Mad and started killing.
Hah he didn't start killing all he just did a revenge

He wasn't really smarter.

"My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams, this wasted land. But most of all, I remember the road warrior, the man we called Max.
To understand who he was we have to go back to the other time, when the world was powered by the black fuel and the desert sprouted great cities of pipe and steel - gone now, swept away. For reasons long forgotten two mighty warrior tribes went to war and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel they were nothing. They'd built a house of straw. The thundering machines sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked, but nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled. Cities exploded - a whirlwind of looting, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men.
On the roads it was a white-line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice, and in this maelstrom of decay ordinary men were battered and smashed - men like Max, the warrior Max. In the roar of an engine, he lost everything and became a shell of a man, a burnt-out desolate man, a man haunted by the demons of his past, a man who wandered out into the wasteland. And it was here, in this blighted place, that he learned to live again."
--Opening Monologue, Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior
Fucking poetic
In high school we watched this movie in English Class. All the girls screamed in sadness and the boys were silent and angry. It the first time we as a class agreed on the same. Sadness for this brave, humble family MAN........ He inspired me and many others....never give up during tragedy of all levels.
RIP Hugh Keays-Byrne (1947-2020).
He'll ride eternal, shiny and chrome on the highways of Valhalla...
When they were filming Fury Road. They were doing Behind the Scenes and he yelled out to some cast War Boys characters. "You are all beautiful!"
Even when not filming, the guys playing the War Boys he said that to still saluted him as if they were filming.
Remember him when you look at the night sky.
@@redpyramid9697 WE REMEMBER THE NIGHT RIDER !!!! And we know who you are...Goose.
where it all began. I was a touch saddened when I typed in "mad max" and 90% of everything that came up was from either the last movie or the upcoming one. thankfully there are plenty of us keeping these original 3 alive and kicking
Miller's got a thing for tough old ladies!
So does Weinsteine.
3:00 every step drives him more Crazy ... his humanity is gone in this scene ... madmax is born
I love the scene when he walks to get his interceptor, he fades away and then the interceptor drives, its like he fades INTO the interceptor, truly a part of him

@masonf7332 which is very normal in this situation.
Max worries that he'll become like the outlaws and criminals he deals with, but he doesn't truly take pleasure in inflicting suffering. That's what separates him from most of his enemies in the franchise. Only Johnny Boy suffered his wrath for murdering Goose.
Man, there's so many ways they could've survived this whole ordeal.
The biggest issue I had was with the mother running down the center of the road (with her baby) for some reason. I guess we're led to believe that she was panicked and that's all she could think of doing, but.....
@@Maffmatix not to mention leaving all of their bikes lined up ready to go. Could've atleast backed into them and smashed them up a bit before driving off. Also could drive away calmly and if the bikes give chase you simply run them over.
@@dangolfishin I agree with backing over the bikes, but with her child screaming and the old lady yelling "Just GO !!!" all she was thinking was escape. When the Ute stalls, panic takes over, she grabs the kid and starts running blindly.

Every MEN turn in Mad max mode if situation like this happen...trust me
You hurt a man like this and eventually we all become max

What makes this whole story even more sad is that Max saw the world he knew fall apart along with his own family.

AND YES, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US HERE, would do the same... but how would we feel? Like him... at the end of this masterpiece movie... a good man, totally broken..., that is... the greatest tragedy... so be grateful you have your family and people you love... because if anyone would do anything to them... there is no one (at least in my mind) who would stop me from taking justice into my own hands, but it would just end us, totally, after all that... even I would want to die...so just protect your family WITH ALL YOU HAVE IN YOU, this today is no less sick world than here in Max world.

This is one of the most brutal and horrifying scenes I have seen on screen. The ellipsis with the small ball on the road is so powerful and disturbing...
i just realized that this grandma with a gun is very much like filo bedo’s mama from Every Which Way But Loose!! Clint Eastwood is the original Mad Max 🥶
I Love mad Max
I was at Clunes railway station last week. I could feel the presence of the ' Nightrider '.
I believe George Miller was an ER doctor, so you know the dialogue between the doctors was written by somebody familiar with that language. If Jessie just had a flail chest and internal injuries, and the doctor thought she was salvageable, how do we know she didn't survive?
To keep her alive to be an organ donor.
Yes ! Omg :( ❤and Mel Gibson was a Hell of a man in these days and still is !!!!

Why didn’t the old lady just holding them until Max and her son come back? Or tell them to leave and stay inside the house?
