Arceus was able to create an egg for the Creation trio asexually. Perhaps Dialga, Palkia and Giratina can do the same. These are mythical beings with divine powers (and in the undiscovered egg group I might add) so isn't it plausible that they could create a child from nothing? It would certainly explain Ash's ability to encounter Legendary Pokemon. On top of this, you can even explain these Pokemon's inability to view Ash as their child because the conception may have been (to think of a better word) accidental in such a way that these Pokemon don't know Ash is "their" child. Or I could just love the Sinnoh Legendaries and have a mind for outlandish fanfiction.

The whole anime story is Ash's father telling his grandchildren stories about their father while he babysits them.
This is why Ash's Pikachu can hit Ground types with Thunderbolt.
This is why some Pokemon know moves they shouldn't.
This is why some Pokemon know more than four moves.
It's all a story an old man tells to his grandchildren - the way he remembers it.

Like how Ash is ageless, has more interest in Pokémon (because he's half legendary Pokémon), and why his mother is practically in love with a Mr. Mime (as she's attracted to Pokémon) after her boyfriend (Or possibly even husband, assuming there's a institution that would marry human and Pokémon of course) left her and their child. Najwan Najib I agree Red cant be Ash's dad because they are the same age. Brock, Misty, Prof. Oak, Lt. Surge, Giovanni all the same age in the anime that they are in the game series. Imo Red shouldn't exist outside of the game series and Ash shouldn't exist outside of the anime, it just doesnt make sense, but the creators of both crossed those lines already.
Furthermore, Red had Giovanni disband Team Rocket. So why would Giovanni still be the boss of a dead organization?

A few hundred years into the future, he finally catches them all and begins to age. Nostalgic of the past, he asks Dialga to go back in time to see the era he was born in. Unfortunately, Dialga takes that saying a bit too literally, and sends him to just before his conception, where he meets his own mother and, having forgotten how she looked, sleeps with her. The rest is history.

I have theory about Ash's father. My theory is Ash's dad is in fact Gary's father. That's right I said Gary's father. I mean, if he was Ash's father then it would be able to explain a lot, first it says explains why Gary hates and disrespects Ash so much in Seasons 1 and 2. If Ash is his half brother that means that their father cheated on Gary's mom, leading to a most likely, broken home. And given that its never stated in the Anime that Gary is an orphan (unlike Blue in the games) it is possible that Gary's parents went through a bitter divorce over the affair, or if they are dead it is possible (albeit grim) that it was as a result of a violent altercation between the two. And as for Ash's mom saying that his father is a great trainer on his own journey, well she could simply be sugar coating it so that Ash doesn't have to learn the horrible truth. This would also be a good explanation as to Gary's change in Diamond and Pearl, where he starts acting polite and kind to Ash, it could be he has either come to terms with his father's transgressions and realized that Ash isn't to blame.

I once heard a theory that Pikachu's gender was left uncertain at first on purpose so both boys and girls could relate to him/her better and wonder if maybe there was something to that; when I was in first grade most of my female classmates thought Pikachu was a girl because "she's cute" and most of my male classmates thought Pikachu was a boy because "he's strong."

Ok, so, Red only exists in the games, Ash only exists in the Anime Red and Ash are the same person just in different canons, don't believe me ? Just look at Gary and Blue they are the same charcter just in different worlds. In reality the writers probably thought Red was a dumb name/there are different names to give Red, Satoshi at the time... just like Ash, in the diffrent games so they probably didn't what name to give to the protagonist so they went with the name that was universal throughout all versions also like I stated before Red's original name was Satoshi so for a while they probably WERE seen as the same character (sorry for my ramble)
The only Pokemon-Father Theory I consider plausible is a Lucario because of a few reasons:
•That could be one of the main factors in Ash's love of Pokemon
•Ash's ability to use aura
•They said he was on a journey but they didn't say he wasn't one of the Pokemon on a journey
•If his grandfather was a powerful trainer, than maybe he was a Zoruark who had a kid with a female Lucario seeing as the offspring of pokemon takes the gender of a female, that's also why Ash is a human because just like a pokemon, he takes the species of his mom, and what does he take from his dad? Aura. Just like how a pokemon gets egg moves from its father!
And that's why I think the Theory that his dad is a Lucario is plausible, while it has its flaws, it's still a solid theory in my opinion.

I still believe Ash's father is Giovanni. The theory to me was he went off to be a Pokemon trainer, wasn't very good at it, and refused to return home empty handed. As such, he created Team Rocket to steal Pokemon instead. He got hungry with power, and never returned home to Pallet. This was further cemented to me in the show canon (as I stopped watching during Johto Champions) when Ash has to get his 8th gym badge, he fights Jesse and James in Viridian Gym instead of Giovanni, who was coincidentally dealing with Mewtwo at the time, so they had never met in person up to that point.
I don't know if they met eventually in the canon of the show, as I mentioned I stopped watching before Master Quest happened, but that is still my theory today. Ash's Mom probably doesn't know Giovanni of Team Rocket, she just assumes he is still on his Pokemon Journey, oblivious to the fact that he has turned greedy and evil in his business of stealing Pokemon.

I always thought Giovanni being Ash's father made some sense, in a weird way of course. First of all, the Pokemon anime clip in which Mrs. Ketchum tells Ash that it took his father four days to reach Viridian City gives us something to work with here. Who's the gym leader in Viridian City, one whom Ash conveniently never faced? Surprise surprise Pokemon fans, it was Giovanni! And I'm not talking about any of the lame newer seasons, let's just stick to the Indigo League season of Pokemon. In that first season, Giovanni is shown a handful of times, and we immediately get the feeling that Giovanni is the main antagonist of the show, unlike Gary, who's simply a childhood rival and not an enemy. Moreover, the devious Team Rocket, whose leader is Giovanni, somehow only steal from Ash and are constantly pursuing him. But why always him, why not another Pokemon trainer? Perhaps Giovanni knows that someday Ash will become a far superior Pokemon trainer than him, even a master, and ultimately challenge himself. So maybe this is why Jesse, James and Meowth are always there to delay Ash's inevitable meeting with his father. This theory is not entirely "far-fetched", like the Pokemon! With respect to age differences between Ash and Giovanni, geographic locations of Pallet Town and Viridian City, and various circumstantial evidence, such as Gary facing Giovanni for the badge but not Ash, I think Ash's real father may have been a much nobler and respectable Giovanni back when he truly loved Pokemon. But somewhere along the timeline, Giovanni completely changed, perhaps by a dark power of some mysterious Pokemon or other force, which resulted in fabulous wealth, tremendous power and a corrupted, black heart...
Because ash is in possession of what Giovanni claims is "the most powerful pikachu in existence". they pretty much have standing orders.
***** And that's the problem with the newer generations, what the fuck kind of name is Silver, for starters? And there's enough circumstantial evidence that makes Giovanni being Ash's father theory much better, now they totally ruin the mystery surrounding it by saying that some random ass kid is the true son. And it's also possible that Giovanni can father multiple children, a sign of male virility since ancient times. Additionally, this video, if you know how to read proper English, considers Ash's possible father, not Giovanni's possible sons!
