My challenge is to rotate through my pantry better and use up all of those items that often go unnoticed. You’re doing a good job and it is hard to stick to cut certain faves out.
Tiffanie time are tough we are feeling a lot of stress over the prices God bless you all sweet Friend Cathy 🙏🏻✝️☮️📿🥰🥰🌺🌹💐💗💜❤️💙
Yes, we are too. Prices on everything are so daunting!
Hi Tiffanie how how you been it’s good to see you Hope you are enjoying your New House 🏡 Love you guys Love ❤️ Cathy 🙏🏻✝️☮️📿🥰🥰💐🌹🌺
I thought I was doing well with my challenge but had a couple of unexpected bills so it has razzled me but I am just giving grace and being thankful I had the $$ to take care of it. Now hitting reset and trying again!! Thanks for sharing!!
The unexpected bills really throw a wrench in our plans!
I'm partially participating. A local store had a few bargain each week starting right before thanksgiving through this Saturday actually. I stocked up on some staples and treats. Sometimes recklessly. I was straightening a shelving unit I use and I discovered I had accumulated 7 boxes of cereal. So for the foreseeable future my goal is no more stock ups unless the price is reduced to how sale prices were 4 years ago! At least for a little while anyway.
I love your glasses💗
Thank you!!
We're doing pretty good doing our low spend January. A few small expenses popped up but we're doing good with eating out way less than normal so that's saving us quite a bit of money just with that alone. Two more weeks to go!
We're doing No Spend January. The only exception we made is for my mother-in-law. Since Mat's dad died right before Christmas, we never bought Christmas gifts for ourselves. Also, their wedding anniversary just came up. So we paused our no spend rules for one day to take her out to eat and go shopping with her.
I think that was sweet that you made it a priority!
we are doing well with ours. We live in texas and we had a cold snap so i did spend for a space heater which in the long run will save money because we didnt run the big unit. other than that we are just using what we have until its a have to and buying intentionally. A broader goal for 2024 is to hone into what we actually enjoy eating and buy for those items and not just buying out of habit.
Smart plan! I love it.
Wednesday blessings to you, Will, Jackson, and Alice. Hope y'all are doing well and staying warm in this cold snap.
We're finding out where the house has leaky gaps, that's for sure! It's darn cold out there.
@SimpleWifeSimpleLife oh no. We have them too and try to stay out of the rooms that have them.
We got a little bit of snow but a TON of ice here in Oregon over the weekend/week so I haven’t been able to do my massive two-week grocery shopping that I normally do so we were forced to do a pantry challenge. I was able to make 14 meals out of what we had in the freezer and pantry, but did walk to the store for a few things to hold us over until the ice melts.
Amazing what can come from our pantry/freezers when we kind of lose track for a while
I’m doing a no spend January & then doing a pantry/freezer challenge trying to keep groceries in check this month!
Yes, that's what we're doing! I gave us a $50/week budget for fresh ingredients, fill in supplies, etc
@@SimpleWifeSimpleLife im not doing quite that extreme as $50 budget just isn’t realistic for my family. But instead of my normally 200-300 weekly trips I’m trying to keep it under $150 and use up what’s on hand before buying more.
I’m doing no buying baking mixes in January because I have tons of cake mixes and muffin mixes that I need to get rid of
We have quite a bit on hand as well. We like to bake a few times a week so having a variety is always fun!
I'm not actually. January is my stock up month. I find they have some of the best sales and clearances in the month of January, but that's just how I roll.
Hey, that works too!
May you please let me know what that contraption is up against the wall next to your husband in the 2:47 timestamp. Thank you.
If you are referring to the white square with the orange glow in the center, it's a gas heater.
@@lorieslater4372 oh it's a heater. Is that something that came with the house or just something you purchase as an extra for heat source? I've never seen one actually attached to a wall, usually the space heaters I see are just to put down on the floor. This is definitely safer.
@@marykoufalis7666 I am not the op so I cannot speak to whether it came with their house. But we have one in our basement that came with the house. It is gas fed and since it is on the wall opposite our gas furnace, it's fed from the same gas line. We did have to replace the original heater a few years ago but my husband was able to do it himself.
@marykoufalis7666 it came with the house! It's attached to the wall because the natural gas line comes into the house and is ran to that part of the house for the heater to be installed. It was so helpful when we had a streak of super cold weather for our area as our main heat source is electric and that bill is $$$$
@@SimpleWifeSimpleLife oh that's wonderful. Anyway we can save money as always a blessing. I'm glad it I was there to heat up your home and save some money.
