The AWB was a Scottish funk & R&B band that had a series of soul & disco hits between 74 & 80. That had some good songs such as "When Will You Be Mine", "Let's Go Around Again", "Cut The Cake", "A Love Of Your Own" etc. But the instrumental song "Pick Up The Pieces" in 1975 was their biggest hit.
@@tashajackson A lot of great musicians came from Scotland,Annie Lennox,Shirley Manson-Garbage,Ian Anderson-Jethro Tull,Donovan,Nazareth,Al Stewart,Gerry Rafferty,Bon Scott and the Young brothers from AC/DC were born in Scotland,David Byrne-Talking Heads,Jack Bruce-Cream,Mark Knopfler-Dire Straits and many more you should check them all out.Cheers.

This was a big disco hit at the clubs back in the '70s. It was a real floor filler, as were some of their other hits like 'Cut the Cake', and my favorite, 'Work to Do', which was a cover of the original by the Isley Brothers.
I didn't like a whole lot of the music that was produced and rode the charts during the disco era, but I love this! The is funk so silky smooth that even a lame white guy can get a groove on with it. These fellows, Tower of Power, and maybe another handful of others made music that rose above the genre they were born into.
That was a great reaction, Thank you. I hope you'll listen to some more AWB, because that instrumental was HOT, but they have some amazing songs with vocals. Like: "Love of Your Own", "School Boy Crush", "Cut the Cake", "Person To Person", "Work To Do". There are a few cool videos of them playing live on "Soul Train". I like to go back and watch. Much love to you and the channel.
Great reaction Tasha! I highly recommend AWB's - Work To Do and A Love of Your Own (both live at Montreux 1977). Make sure Hubby is with you for those!
Awesome band, saw them live when Angus rejoined them at Jazz Cafe in London way back in the day. But yeh, a lot of Michael Jackson's songs, and more than a few of Doobie Brothers were influenced by a Scot, the late Rod Temperton.. check him out. Oooh, and do look out for Chaz Jankel, he wrote and recorded Ai No Corrida before Quincey Jones had a hit with it.
Nowadays, the name of the band will set the sensitive ones off. However, this song is on my playlist with my Retro Songs that I can seat-dance to in my car when I need to stay awake.
Listen to these next: Cut the Cake, Cloudy, and Person to Person, from their Person to Person live album. These are so different and much better than their studio versions. Studio versions of these: School Boy Crush has such a fat bass you will gain 10 pounds! Let’s Go ‘Round Again Work to Do, a great Isley Brother’s song. The Jugglers, it is so funky! A Love of Your Own
You would be better served hearing the studio version of the song . You don't need a video to appreciate the music, and the studio recording of this is much cleaner
Everyone knows this song...they just don't know they know it! LOL
I don't know...T may not know this song lol
@@tashajackson lol...T doesn't count...he has proven he might have lived under a rock for a while 🤣

They were an awesome band. This song packed the dance floor back in the day. 🔥
They were??? They still are, just saw them in September 2022!!!!
James Brown's band the JBs covered this under the name AABB (Above Average Black Band) as a tip of the hat to AWB (who are Scottish,of all things).
That song really hits the spot. Great choice.
I saw that sign in the background. I Was a 77 grad! So many memories with this song!!!!

Fabulous song!! They were a great band! Loved your enjoyment of this. Tasha you always bring us your sweet, beautiful personality and so much joy!! 😊
You're so sweet Thanks Pa 💕
1977 Morgantown WV at the Coliseum AWB and I'm Wild Cherry....ahhh... GOOD TIMES... GOOD TIMES!!

Great reaction Tasha. I came back to join you in one more dance. Thank you.

Love your reaction to this one.
You were certainly vibing to that one! So was I since it's years since I've heard it. Enjoyed your reaction, thank you!
58 years old and I still dance to this song.
Much to the embarrassment of my teenage kids.

A love of your own, is the best a reaction to that song is requested
wOw! Tasha, we had forgotten all about these guys and this little number. Thanks for this little bit of yesterday. Love ya. Later. Peace.
Their other best song is "Work to Do." It's as funky as you wanna be.
It has to be said, there are few things cooler looking than a white guy playing the sax. 😎
A love of your own. Song is fire

PICK UP THE PIECES is the only song off that album that I don't listen to anymore.
You grooving lol
💃🏽😂
"Average White Band" is a clear case of false advertisement. One that you're happy to put up with, though.
You have to listen to Work to do
All the reactors are playing A LOVE OF YOUR OWN, but I think I'M THE ONE is better, same album.
On my playlist. Is that wrong?
The studio version is better
