man oh man, what an invention! whoever was responsible for designing the first loop pedal was really on to something. looping technology can open up so many doors for practicing/aspiring musicians trying to improve their craft. I can't wait to buy my RC3. I was considering the ditto, but the benefits of having an RC3 are obvious. I've nearly saved up enough spending money to buy one. it'll be so glorious (bit of a learning curve though). thanks for the video, Zumar. You sly ole devil.
thanks for this vid. just bought an rc3...waiting for it to arrive. nice to start learning how to use it before it shows up! nice playing by the way. good soulful sound..
Carl, you have a fantastic tutoring manor I completely understand your method and I can't play. I wish you would produce some complete beginners guitar lessons? Thanks Dave
Hard to imagine there was a time you first picked up a guitar ..loop lesson pedal use superb..guitar etc playing superbulous...(yeah it;s my made up word when something truly inspires me ..many thanks...i'm actually surfing to see if anyone shows where all the ports go to..more surfing i guess even Justin didn't show that one ..nor Marty..lol
Great Lesson ! I'll be entering the Looper world next week ,getting a Boss RC -3 .I don't know what world I've been in before this ,since this is all new to me .I do thought have a song that jumps up a octive about 3/4 the way through the song , so I quess I would have that part on memory ? And I wonder how hard it would be to get into the memory & push play while still playing ? Other than that this looping sounds great.
hi! this is the best demo/tutorial on this pedal I've seen (and I've seen a bunch because this is my first pedal and I had absolutely no idea how to use it). quick question though -- how do you save loops?
supranalto hi this is from the user manual . While playback is stopped, press the [WRITE] button. The display will indicate “ ” (wr). 2. Use the [ ] / [ ] buttons to specify the save- destination phrase memory. You can skip this step if you want to save to the currently selected phrase. You can’t select a phrase memory in which a phrase has already been saved. The maximum recording time is a total of approximately 3 hours for all phrases (including the phrase that has not been saved). If the phrase cannot be saved because there is insufficient free memory, the display will indicate “FL” alternately with the phrase memory number. In this case, delete unneeded phrases (p. 9) and then try the operation again. 3. Press the [WRITE] button once again; the phrase will be saved. If you decide not to save the phrase, press the [TAP TEMPO] button, the [RHYTHM ON/OFF] button, or the pedal. hope this helps.
Very nice tutorial! I'm sorta new to pedals and didn't quite grasp instantly how to operate them. However, if I lets say wanted to mute just a single "overdub" for a second, I'd need a looper with more tracks right?
this video is nice for people absolutely new to looping it seems like a tutorial on techniques instead of help w the pedal. for some reason my pedal wont record and i know for the c 1 ONE person made a video because they had the same problem in that it was in the wrong setting. getting out of the setting is a different process for this pedal surely ive tried and if anyone can help me with that thatd be awesome i wish there were more troubleshooting focused tutorials
Good morning, I'm not able to play audio / music on the loop station. After the proper recordings in your seats, appears on the FL display and the sound does not come out. Can you help me?
Hi. Great video though I'm slightly confused (it doesn't take much!). When you add the melody, then an octave higher, and then the base, you don't use individual taps on the pedal. How come? Have I missed something?
Darren Saunders once you've done the first record , which gives the length of the loop, you could tap just once adding all the overdubs you like but you should be able to don't make any noises between them...its as the pedal still recording for the full length adding your last phrase every time....
Darren Saunders Hi after laying down the first loop you only have to push the pedal again once and you can keep layering .I usually layer loops quickly but because I was explaining stuff I made some of the loops play back for awhile.
hello, I'm french so esxuse me if my english is not very good ! your lesson are very good ! I love it ! thank you because I buy the rc3 yesterday ! and I receive it I think wednesday 😀 but Can I have the tabs of your melody of the first song please ?
so everytime i want to add a layer i have to press the pedal to start recording the next layer and then press it again to stop the recording of that layer?
hi there, im trying to play the song layla using a boss rc3. so ive recorded the rhythm bit at the start and then soloed over the top. now i want to to turn the loop off but keep the same beat going so i can play the verse. how do i do that? thanks chris.
MrJammyeye not sure thats possible .you could laydown a drum beat the way I do at the end of my video. before laying down a rythem guitar part .the hold down the pedal for two seconds then loop another set of chords for a verse. or for the verse heavy palm mute the verse chords while singing to create fullness of sound the switch the loop back on for the guitar riff/chorus stuff. hope thats helpful.
Hi +zumar thanks forthe video, i have a question hope you can help me.. i can use a mic on the second input entry in this pedal to record voice too? thanks :D
Jonatan Jimenez ja_ yes you can I'm making a video about this next week using the rc1 but it has the same inputs. Ideally you would want to use 3 jack to jacks and an female xlr to to jack for the microphone. I will explain better in my upcoming video.
Zumar Guitar lessons ok, i wish/need use guitar and mic at the same time in the looper, because i want to buy one but i dont know what is better, rc3, rc20xl, rc1, nux, etc im waiting for. your opinion and the next video, thanks so much.
Jimmy Haley try jack to jack out of the beat buddy into input one of the looper. Play one bar of beat buddy then start the looper on the second bar on the first beat and make sure you finish looping on the last beat of a bar :) happy looping
Great stuff sir!!! I'm curious about looping in acoustic guitar but i have no idea. Can you teach me which guitar* and which looping pedal, i can used ??
You only have to hit the pedal once after the initial (tap start recording loop tap stop recording loop) but if you just leave the loop recording while talking you can get feedback from the bass strings. Hope that helps
Chris Johnson it does but they can be tricky to get them to play at the right speed. you can tap out the speed with an extension pedal though I believe.
Awesome video! Very well done! I'm going to purchase the Boss RC-3 Loop Station and this tutorial is awesome. I enjoy listening to you play! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! Please check out mine. I just recently started making them and I'm having a lot of fun. I know the loop pedal will help a lot!
Thanks for sharing. I like your style of playing. I use the BOSS RC-30. My music can be found on my channel if you want to check it out. I'd be keen to keep in touch. Cheers!

@@ZumarMusicI still do.
The 2/4 snare rule iIs fxng sweet.
There is an auto.timing trick that makes the layering easy. Ill post it under here.

That was a very useful lesson. I appreciate you!
Pretty one-man neat trick. Gotti getme some.

At around 4:03 the insert video of your foot is not timed well with the end effect stop and start. A little confusing.
Dude!, finally the video I was searching for. What is that second boss pedal your using?
Thanks it's the Boss FS5U extension pedal. Used for stopping (one press)
And deleting loops (two second press)

Any loop pedal works
Great Video! Can you use the FS5U with the RC1 or just the RC3?
Hi you can use the FS5U with the RC1 RC2 and RC3
Thank you! And what do you think is more useful? A RC1 with a FS5U or a Ditto looper X2, because of the stop function. Thanks :D
great tips, thanks! setting that first loop is always the hardest. btw you look like Torgo from Manos - The Hands of Fate :-)
Thank you Karl from OzTralia
Thank you :)
I have the Rc3 .
I only want mine for live shows
For bass drum sounds on my guitar etc.
Mumford n son kinda stuff I do
How was it recording when you weren't hitting the pedal?
You only have to hit the pedal once after the initial (tap start recording loop tap stop recording loop) but if you just leave the loop recording while talking you can get feedback from the bass strings. Hope that helps

Question? What other pedals are you using like delay or reverb?
Hi Stephen sorry for the late reply I believe I was using the inbuilt reverb and a small amount of the inbuilt chorus :)
+Zumar Guitar lessons awsome thanks
Hey Marty, great video thanks!! lmao!
hahahahah
Can I use this pedal on a micrphone to record my voice other than guitar? is there a way to loop both voice and guitar ?
You can use it for both but you need four cables 3 jack to jacks and an xlr to jack for the microphone.
WhAts that tune?
Thought it had drum beats in the pedal
Chris Johnson it does but they can be tricky to get them to play at the right speed. you can tap out the speed with an extension pedal though I believe.

@@ZumarMusic you can actually tap out the speed on the tempo button, really easy!
