I ve seen it in many oldschool videos, they did something in the past that produced better quality sound, even in recordings from camers mics. I believe it was a combination of non scooped effects (eg more "organic" distortions that do not destroy the mids), non scooped and tighter amps than nowadays ridiculous multistage ones that amputate mid freqs and promote only bass and treble and, last but not least, probably more skillful people on the console itselves if the recoding is direct. All those instruments and technology of today have made things so sterile, the harmonics and overall instrument identity are missing.
Left Axe: Richard Brunelle Middle Bass and Voice of Hell: David Vincent Right Axe: Trey Azagthoth Battery: Pete Sandoval The unreachable epiphany of Death Metal
The funny thing about 3:30 is that on the 'Heretic' drum check, Pete Sandoval does the exact same thing to their producer.. "Pete, let me hear your kick drum, please"
I've seen them in Italy 4 times ... no one will reach this perfection and power ... dave vincent has the best voice in the scene. pete ... jeje, pete sandoval. trey comes directly from hell ...
Lol, it's cool how they improvised Trey's fuck-up and made it sound almost like they meant to do it. In fact, if I'd been there, I probably would've thought that's what happened. Too bad I wasn't born yet.
Morbid Angel are one of them bands that live on a different Vibration.. I'm soo glad they got sent here, too our vibration. Now we can also listen to the universe's schitzo, tormented mind.
All things considered, you have to understand that it's very hard for any one band to be as big NOW as Morbid were THEN. (< my grammar's horrible, lol) It hardly matters that there are acts out there now that have more stage presence or that Morbid isn't the 'ONE' anymore. Morbid's generation MADE them.
Maybe. Both bands have very talented people, like Trey, or like Pat O Brien, they both have their good and bad albums, and their own style. But yeah I consider that Morbid Angel is way more creative anyway imo. Btw Cannibal with Chris and Morbid with David (before Illud obviously) were really awesome.
Saw them live in 89 when Tony from Vital Remains paid them to play a show in Providence RI with them. Awesome fucking show! Saw newer Morbid a couple years ago and it wasn't the same. Satyricon and Suffication blew them off the stage. oh well. Great video! Maze of Torment was a favorite.
It's kinda cool that fans are just coming onto the stage, and leaping off, and Morbid Angel is just like, "Whatever". XD I guess when you're as crazy of a band as them, security is unnecessary.
I Am Morbid are doing a Covenant 30y Anniv. Tour right now. Saw them 4 days ago with Dave Vincent and Pete "The Feet" Sandoval playing all that epic shit from Altars of Madness to Dominate.
Lol yeah man...actually I was born then, in March of that year exactly. :) Which means I was a few months old when the gods of death metal were playing this. :D
I remember a deicide show-legion tour and a dude tried to get on stage and 1 of the hoffman.s kicked him right in the face nobody tried to get on stage after that
yep. that's what it sounds like. oh, well, that's the beauty of a LIVE show, you never know what's gonna happen. You could tell the drummer was a bit confused.
Trey has really, really improved since this video. He's a god now, but he wasn't that great back then... luckily he improved and became the death metal god he is today :D
Rock City, Nottingham, back when you could get "up close and personal" with the bands. Six foot crowd barrier these days and a strict "no crowd surfing" policy. Ah those were the days. #-)
Haha totally like what the fuck man!! flam!! urrrrgghhhhh!!!! legendary show they just dont make (like) em like this anymore but for me this shit wil never die proud to be old an out the loop! hail brothers an sisters across the world metal beers smokes and a lot of generally slacking off we know who we are!! \m/
Listen to the new album and this! You just can´t believe that such a good band can put out such a shit album after 8 years! Come one we want songs like this!
this may be the best Death Metal song ever written...
Best old school death metal album from the 80s, no claim from troo dmlers could change it something like consuming impulse by pestilence haha
Don't forget about left hand path though.
Looks like you're not familiar with Billy Joel's catalog... His songs easilly fills the top 5 spots of the gendra
totally agree!
It is.
This is amazing quality for being a 2006 upload for a 1989 video.

Middle Bass and Voice of Hell: David Vincent
Right Axe: Trey Azagthoth

The unreachable epiphany of Death Metal
Pete's "dude, WHAT. THE. FUCK." face was awesome.
David Vincent's voice used to sound like he was being spoken through by fallen angels. Now he sounds like a constipated Kermit the Frog.
i will never forgive myself missing that live :(
At least you can still watch it nowadays
12 years online and just about 95700 views. Shame on the community. It's a masterpiece.
RIP Richard brunelle
The funny thing about 3:30 is that on the 'Heretic' drum check, Pete Sandoval does the exact same thing to their producer.. "Pete, let me hear your kick drum, please"
They pranked Pete because he thought there was a drummer who played faster than him
I've seen them in Italy 4 times ...
no one will reach this perfection and power ...
dave vincent has the best voice in the scene.
pete ... jeje, pete sandoval.
trey comes directly from hell ...
Wow, the way trey made up for his mistake was amazing.
3:30 Hahahahaha I could see this part on and on, so funny
That's what you call a tight band
3:34 Pete looks: WTF Trey is doing?
I think Trey pausing for a second after his fuck up makes this version sound awesome.
Lol, it's cool how they improvised Trey's fuck-up and made it sound almost like they meant to do it.
In fact, if I'd been there, I probably would've thought that's what happened. Too bad I wasn't born yet.
What the hell are you talking about?
In this state David had the ULTIMATE, never to be improved Death Metal voice of all times, period.
Drummer salt @ 3:30
Best show ever. Amazing. I 💗 morbid
Morbid Angel are one of them bands that live on a different Vibration.. I'm soo glad they got sent here, too our vibration. Now we can also listen to the universe's schitzo, tormented mind.
3:31-3:42 Trey owned!!! That was some funny shit. Metal heads have their mistakes. At least he improvsed. But still.....Trey rules!!!
LONG LIVE DEATH METAL!!!
Trey messed up the riffs for a sec and tried to play it off as one of his badass solos, that is why Pete had that expression.
classic from probably the best death metal album of all time
I saw them in 1989 in NYC they played chapel of ghouls, maze of torment, lord of fevers and plagues.Fuckin awesome show sandoval is incredable
All things considered, you have to understand that it's very hard for any one band to be as big NOW as Morbid were THEN. (< my grammar's horrible, lol)

this kicks the shit out of justin bieber
Fuck yeah! The glory days of death metal, killer shredding Richard!!!
En ese entonces todo el pulico que tenian este tipo de bandas pioneras de Death Metal eran thrashers!!
Longer time since this video was uploaded than between the songs releas date and the upload
FUCK!!! I get goose bumbs just by hearing that distortion!!!
damn, those palm mutes sound incredible int he beginning... bone crushing in the flesh... i wish i was there
well, that's what i call good improvisation! Death fuckin' Metal, man!
1989, Two albums in my mind
Morbid Angel Altars of Madness
Bolthrower Realm Of Chaos.
Didn't realize ROC was out the same year, that album is absolutely crushing. Truly the good 'ol days.
Still heavier than most modern deathmetal bands...
His voice somehow reminds me of Jon Nödtveidt ^^
Great band, great song, great performance.
Morbid Angel, what else ?
Cannibal Corpse
Obituary > Cannibal Corpse.
Infamous Butcher Morbid Angel > Obituary > Cannibal Corpse. All good bands though.
@@cooldude123817 In terms of musical skill Morbid Angel> both those 2
Immolation over all.
Maybe. Both bands have very talented people, like Trey, or like Pat O Brien, they both have their good and bad albums, and their own style. But yeah I consider that Morbid Angel is way more creative anyway imo.
Btw Cannibal with Chris and Morbid with David (before Illud obviously) were really awesome.
awesome improv... good to learn now
love that riff at 3:00....
I wish I would of been around to see them to, :(. Thanks for uploading, Trey and David were fucking hot!
It's kinda cool that fans are just coming onto the stage, and leaping off, and Morbid Angel is just like, "Whatever". XD I guess when you're as crazy of a band as them, security is unnecessary.
ill be lucky if i ever see morbid angel live i wanna see them so bad
I Am Morbid are doing a Covenant 30y Anniv. Tour right now. Saw them 4 days ago with Dave Vincent and Pete "The Feet" Sandoval playing all that epic shit from Altars of Madness to Dominate.
Shame that Brunelle's guitar is in the background. Despite that, this live is one of the best dm lives in existence.
God I wish I could've been around to see them back then.
brillant ,classic Morbid
He's been in, out and is currently in jail for cocaine possession in Hillsborough county. He will be released 7/21/08.
3:30 man that's a skilled band 😂
As Knobbleboy said when he died at 98% in Bloodlust (Sorry for bringing up a dead meme) "DUDE WHAT THE FUCK?!?!"
@@WhoisVinnie oh hey
@0MorbidAngel0 one of the best death metal voacalists of all time
That was sick.
Lol yeah man...actually I was born then, in March of that year exactly. :) Which means I was a few months old when the gods of death metal were playing this. :D

Headbanging is of the CHAIN
I remember a deicide show-legion tour and a dude tried to get on stage and 1 of the hoffman.s kicked him right in the face nobody tried to get on stage after that
Amazing, what an energy!
yep. that's what it sounds like. oh, well, that's the beauty of a LIVE show, you never know what's gonna happen. You could tell the drummer was a bit confused.

I loled so hard
i was only a few months old when this concert happened....damn it i was born in the wrong year
Well, I was in first grade, but there still was no fucking way for me to go as a child.
¡Legendarios caray!
richard brunelle is a beast!
Trey has really, really improved since this video. He's a god now, but he wasn't that great back then... luckily he improved and became the death metal god he is today :D
Doubtful, Richard Brunelle hasn't played with Morbid Angel since 1991. That's 17 years ago.
Rock City, Nottingham, back when you could get "up close and personal" with the bands. Six foot crowd barrier these days and a strict "no crowd surfing" policy. Ah those were the days. #-)
Morbid Angel at his peak.
If a time machine is invented, I will be back there!
i think i was 5000 of the 45000 veiws
Esta bien perrón .👍
Amazed...
Goddamnit! I fucking love Vincent's old voice....why the fuck would he scrap it?????????
Full on fucking chaos! Makes me proud to be from Tampa. Even thought I was born in the wrong generation..
That's how he rolls.
tHIS iS tHE ma i GREW uP WITH

They play on the guitars in a fucking good way...
LOL at 3:30. That's awesome!!!

Damn straight!
Anyone know what Richard Brunelle is up to now a days? I know he was in Paths of Possession for a short while.
@VanTorment He played the riff one too many times, but then realized it and did some random shit to cover up his screwup, lol.
Hail morbib angel!
This is the BEST Fucking METAL !!! YEeaaa !
holy fuck!!! that was hilarious! but they came back in tight straight away LOLLLLLLL
Richard Brunelle
Yes ofcourse, but I just meant on this live version. it sounds better on the album.
Bummer, he should have cleaned up and started recording w/ MA.
add to that pestilence "testamony of the ancients"
Consuming impulse is no match for altars in terms of musicmanship haha
ok it's Vincent, my bad.
but he sounds a looks kinda different today.
well done at Trey he totally failed, and Pete Sandoval looks very confused :D
Great Death Metal forever!!
