I just watched a few MA shows with Tim Yeung on drums. He's very good, of course, but then I hear Pete 'The Machine' Sandoval. That sound is what made this band great in the rhythm section. Like Dave Lombardo in Slayer. Their replacements may be more on the mark qua precision - but they just can't beat that frantic, urgent, classic, ear-splitting, pounding style these drummers have. Like a hurricane or chased by a horde of demons.
You can totally hear the difference in their performance. Even with "Nikki Dave" having an identity crisis, they sound amazing!!! Not sorry at all, Tim can't touch Pete!!! Tim is an amazing drummer, he just isn't Pete!!!

+6672rock Morbid Angel are inspired by HP Lovecraft. Read or listen to the audio book "The music of Erich Zann". It will change your outlook on Trey's guitar style. He is in my mind without a doubt the greatest death metal guitarist.
Chucks vocals on Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance were amazing although the albums themselves were rather boring compared to previous Death work. But I agree, Dave has killer vocals.

It's a matter of oppinion.. Some people (like me too) never get tired of ripping blasts and mindblowing shreds. In fact - the more, the better. Morbid Angel remain the true icons in what they do...
@DieByMyHand1 On big festivals, especially 3-day+ ones there is a higher "fatigue" factor than on plain concerts, which is further increased by the fact that there are more than 2 or 3 bands that one would smash one's face to. Also, crowd reaction in more famous countries can be dull just because they see tons and tons of good bands all the time and they are "spoiled". Hope that makes it clearer.
@Lincoln6Echo1 if you truly owned several morbid angel albums, you should already be able to tell the huge differences between each song, if youre familiar with death metal you can see tons of difference between the fast and slow parts of songs

I remember that Tom Araya uses to skip lyrics from songs from Hell Awaits back in the 90's. It seems some old school songs are too tough to keep up with. Slayer never playedsongs from that album live again.
