Trey Azagthoth rightly gets the props he deserves, but I think Richard Brunelle was underrated! He was a hell of a guitarist in those days and seriously shredded in this performance. Guess he was always going to be overshadowed by the genius of Azagthoth though, but dude deserves love :D

European Madness 1989! Truely a cruisade for power, glory and the whole dark side. I attended two shows and they changed my life for ever. Hail mighty MORBID ANGEL!

Ahhhhhhh the good ol days! When I was in junior high slamming to this with the buddies at lunch time! The faculty thought it was a gang fight. Lmao....

That's Nottingham, Rock City! I recognise the logo at the back, Holy crap, I wish I'd woken up and smelt the metal back then, I could have been there. Thanks for the vid. Kickass!
Really?? I opened up for him at the Ventura Theater in 1998 during their Formulas tour and he was cool as fuck. The most down to earth and humble dude I've ever met who's like a Metal Icon. Trey is the BEST live performer I've ever seen or been around. I could just stand there are watch him for hours. And that's without getting that feeling like: "I could blow this dude outta the water... Let me play up there..." You know?? I feel none of that. I just want to witness Metal Mastery Live
Yes it is the Bonus DVD from the Altars reissue. It has the full 1989 concert on it. The ULTIMATE Death Metal assault! You wont EVER find anything similar :)
Morbid Angel are one of them bands that live on a different Vibration.. I'm soo glad they got sent here, too our vibration. Now we can also listen to the universe's schitzo, tormented mind.
David, Trey, Richard, Pete, Erik, and all the others who contributed to MA are gods. I like David's voice back then. It had more of a screeching sound to it. I had once mistaked David's voice for Mike's voice when Mike worked with MA on the demos. Awesome vid!
Everyone talks about how back then there was Ozzy and Sabbath and Iron Maiden and whatnot with parents and pastors shunning their music, but it's strange how music like this isn't mentioned nearly as much. Just imagine giving your kid some money to buy a record in 1989 and they come back with this.

Death Metal at it's best and very proud to say that i was fuckin there. Awesome gig and evening. Old fart now at 41 but still love the same music. Will do till the day i pop my clogs.
@lightningchariot696 One some of the songs off this DVD there's hardly a moshpit -- they were so FAR ahead of their time, and their music was so unlike anything before that people had no idea how to react to it. Especially during "Bleed for the Devil," you see people standing, and staring, almost stunned by what they were listening to.
nothing more comforting then some old school death metal before bed time...sweet dreams...

Trey just got arrested for DUI 😮
After Richard was kicked out, I noticed a change in sound.
R.I.P.
I sent him my version of desolate ways just before he passed away, he said it was “pretty cool”. It was the highlight of my life.
What makes you believe Richard is underrated? Please explain.
3:16 at that moment, it’s like David just put a curse on everyone in the audience. It’s terrifying and it’s fucking awesome.
The way he walks back to the mic stand is pretty intimidating and rad at the same time! 🤘🏻
It's amazing how demonic his voice sounds without special effects. Maybe he had a deal with the devil!
