My California kingsnake escaped from his tank during thanksgiving and I didn’t find him until the first day in February, hunkered down in my room under stuffed animals, since it was still pretty cold in my house at least for him, we had given up hope finding him mostly because we have 4 dogs and 4 cats so my family figured he was eaten but I hadn’t seen any sign so I was hopeful that he somehow got outside or was hiding somewhere in the house. But I was so happy to see him I nearly cried I was so happy. So I’m glad you were able to find yours and to share that you shouldn’t give up hope, even with other animals in the house. Although our dogs were quite terrified of my adorable danger noodle
I sadly lost my corn snake around a year ago, sadly we were going to move about a week after she escaped, I’m so happy you and her were able to find yours, I like to think she got outside and lives a wonderful life, I also had at the time 3 dogs and 4 cats.

I put duct tape traps down for a week, and gave up. A month later I saw her head poking out of my little subwoofer on the floor, just a couple feet away from where she'd disappeared. I guess she liked the music I was playing!

One time I lost a snake that I had and we thought that he was gone because he was missing for like a mom so we gave up then one night my dad told my brother's to go to bed because they had bunk beds and shared a room in the snake was hanging above the doorway and my one brother was screaming cuz he didn't expect it to be there and the snake was hungry so he tried to strike but he didn't cuz we got him food we were so glad when we found him

Can you do an updated video on the false water cobras? I've seen other people who wear gloves and use a hook to handle them, but you just free handle them. There is so much conflicting information about how venomous they are/ their temperament so id love to see an updated video on what you have to say about them.

Yay for re-found pets!!! Asher escaped in the wildlife back room when I first got him and we ripped that room apart and couldn't find him I was so sad. Mary found him trapped in the sink in that room the next day, he was too little to get out of it. X'D
Lucas2394 yes, but they are both gen one fire types with single evolutions, and growlith and vulpix are both in the same egg group and can breed. Besides, naming the male Ninetails is weird because as a male it will probably stay smaller than the female, so naming it the evolved form of the female and it being smaller is a bit oxymoronic. Wow, this is my biggest nerd out yet :P
She mentions this in another video, but apparently, unlike mammals, reptiles don't actually have an issue with inbreeding. It seems to occur naturally in the wild quite frequently too.
Inbreeding snakes for a generation or two is alright, but if you inbred them too much you would eventually see issues start popping up just from the genetics degrading and not getting enough variables. Every generation would have its own tiny little mutations that it would pass on to the next, and eventually those would build up enough to cause problems. But for 2 or 3 generations there usually aren't any issues with inbreeding snakes.
I only recently came across your channel and I LOVE IT! Been watching like crazy. I've always had a fascination with snakes/ completely irrational fear of them. (Grew up in the Southwest: Snakes= BAD) But I've seen plenty of sweet beautiful snakes and I just love them. This video makes me SO EXCITED, not sure why as I have no plans to get a snake anytime soon. BUT! Still this is really cool! You're videos are so informative and helpful! This year I have 2 clutches from the same male true ghost (Hypo, Whiteside, Xanthic het patternless PossHet Albino) and two females one is a wild type the other female is a ghost (Whiteside and Xanthic het patternless and hypo PossHet Albino). what type of hypo are you working with are they Trumbower or Stillwater? I would be interested in one of your Albino Whiteside Xanthic(Het Hypo) when and if you hatch one out.

Can I ask, your snakes kept in the tubs on the racks, How do you heat them and give them the right lighting like in a vivarium? Also years ago my son had a small garter snake that escaped. I didn't fine it and a year went by and that next summer I found it basking on our rock wall in the garden. The amazing thing was, I live in england and our winters are very cold wet or snowy. I have know idea how it survived outside in horrible cold weather and still managed to grow loads too! I don't know how it got outside even. All I can think of is our cat got to it and took in out there. Unfortunatly it died a few days after bringing it back in. I think it must have adapted to the cooler out doors and coming back in was a shock to the system maybe.

I love how you give the snakes a good size rack... Most people don't give them any enjoyment all they give the snakes is a hide and a water dish. By the way i love your channel im getting a ball python soon hopefully from repticon!!!
If you don't mind spending the extra money, both together is definitely the best. The heat pad only heats the surface at the bottom of the tank on the warm side giving the snake some belly heat, and the heat lamp (you should use a ceramic heat emitter so it doesn't give off light) will warm the air and some of the surface.
I feel bad seeing how barren the green tree python set up is...is there any way you could provide some kind of enrichment in their cases? Maybe some fake leaves or other objects in there to make things more interesting Edit: Just to clarify - I'm a big fan of the channel & what they do. This was just a suggestion guys!
I don't think it would benefit the snakes really, the reason they add leaves is to the snakes to have somewhere to hide, these ones are climbers, so having somewhere to climb is more important, so if they had to add anything maybe a false log

Yay for re-found pets!!! Asher escaped in the wildlife back room when I first got him and we ripped that room apart and couldn't find him I was so sad. Mary found him trapped in the sink in that room the next day, he was too little to get out of it. X'D

Lucas2394 yes, but they are both gen one fire types with single evolutions, and growlith and vulpix are both in the same egg group and can breed. Besides, naming the male Ninetails is weird because as a male it will probably stay smaller than the female, so naming it the evolved form of the female and it being smaller is a bit oxymoronic.

They breed siblings with eachother. I don't think they really care about inbreeding.
evelyn the edgy all good I just figured breeders would want to keep track of blood lines so they wouldn't end up with 4 headed snakes.
She mentions this in another video, but apparently, unlike mammals, reptiles don't actually have an issue with inbreeding. It seems to occur naturally in the wild quite frequently too.

Inbreeding snakes for a generation or two is alright, but if you inbred them too much you would eventually see issues start popping up just from the genetics degrading and not getting enough variables. Every generation would have its own tiny little mutations that it would pass on to the next, and eventually those would build up enough to cause problems.
But for 2 or 3 generations there usually aren't any issues with inbreeding snakes.
I only recently came across your channel and I LOVE IT! Been watching like crazy. I've always had a fascination with snakes/ completely irrational fear of them. (Grew up in the Southwest: Snakes= BAD) But I've seen plenty of sweet beautiful snakes and I just love them. This video makes me SO EXCITED, not sure why as I have no plans to get a snake anytime soon. BUT! Still this is really cool! You're videos are so informative and helpful! Hopefully someday I'll get over my irrational fears and join the club!

This year I have 2 clutches from the same male true ghost (Hypo, Whiteside, Xanthic het patternless PossHet Albino) and two females one is a wild type the other female is a ghost (Whiteside and Xanthic het patternless and hypo PossHet Albino). what type of hypo are you working with are they Trumbower or Stillwater? I would be interested in one of your Albino Whiteside Xanthic(Het Hypo) when and if you hatch one out.

Also years ago my son had a small garter snake that escaped. I didn't fine it and a year went by and that next summer I found it basking on our rock wall in the garden. The amazing thing was, I live in england and our winters are very cold wet or snowy. I have know idea how it survived outside in horrible cold weather and still managed to grow loads too! I don't know how it got outside even. All I can think of is our cat got to it and took in out there. Unfortunatly it died a few days after bringing it back in. I think it must have adapted to the cooler out doors and coming back in was a shock to the system maybe.

Ginger Alex a heat pad is definetly more safe for the snake if it is a tank!
If you don't mind spending the extra money, both together is definitely the best. The heat pad only heats the surface at the bottom of the tank on the warm side giving the snake some belly heat, and the heat lamp (you should use a ceramic heat emitter so it doesn't give off light) will warm the air and some of the surface.

I feel bad seeing how barren the green tree python set up is...is there any way you could provide some kind of enrichment in their cases? Maybe some fake leaves or other objects in there to make things more interesting

I don't think it would benefit the snakes really, the reason they add leaves is to the snakes to have somewhere to hide, these ones are climbers, so having somewhere to climb is more important, so if they had to add anything maybe a false log
