4:55 The Penitent Ones aren't precursors, just an early game narrative event chain. People don't like it because it spawns a bunch of (relatively weak) hostile fleets in various systems, impeding early exploration and expansion.
Really? I thought when you used the tooltip command on systems it told you what precursors you could get by surveying. (obviously not usable in Ironman)
@@mekamaniac5560 you **can** get, not will get. Even in Ironman, with the autopause, when you roll a precursor you can just kill the game in order to reload to the previous autosave, and you will get a different survey result.
@@burtblando8806 Which precursor you can get in any particular system is predetermined at game start, but actually finding it is an RNG roll. So, if you survey nothing but systems marked precursor 5 in the debug tooltip, you'll get the cybrex, eventually...
I have played mayne 25 games to get the Mediocre! Achievement, and failed. My admiral ALWAYS escapes the battle. And you only get 1 shot, because if he escapes the event is completed that permits the achievement. The fact you got it first time annoys about Stellaris to no end! Glad you got it, though!
I assumed Paradox had a little bit of code to force the RNG on precursors, because when the Zroni and Baol came out they were the two precursors I got in literally my first two games after the expansion launched. The same happened with cosmic storm, without trying to aim for them, I got both new precursors one after the other in the first two games with that expansion. Though as of yet, despite five full ironman games, I've yet to see the 'But it's cute' chain, so I may have to cheese it if it doesn't show up whilst I'm gathering the new ones added in Cosmic Archives next week
3:40 Don't know if it changed since, but a while ago it was linked to your position in the galaxy. And it was kinda fixed : if you played the same galaxy type with the same width, and spawned at the same location each time you'd get the same precursor Edit : for example, on the galaxy you were when you completed the other precursor ans got the relic, I believe I had the Convention at the polar opposite of your position (you were east/south east I was north west)
Speed running exploration achievements in an exploration game... I might be an odd fan out, but it strikes me as silly to get frustrated with the time it takes trying to bypass this particular component of Stellaris.
I'm so glad there isn't another DLC with achievements coming soon........
There could be more achievements…
Rip. Grand Archives is probably going to bring a lot of rng achivements. Good luck capturing every type of space fuana in the game!
@@Ep3o achievements seem to be getting easier. Hopefully we won't have any new precursor!
Mr president... There is another batch of achievements hitting the game
I have lit holy candles and are currently praying to the machine gods of paradox that you are blessed with good rng for the updates to come
Zroni spawn on habital worlds. So prioritizing scaning habital worlds would help. I think increasing habital worlds in game also helps. Happy hunting.
Picking an Origin that locks your Ascension out of Psychic helps as well ... because God forbid i would ever get them on non Hiveminds.
“And if you’re watching just to see me suffer” 😂

3:36 Precursors are not predetermined beforehand. The RNG roll is made when you complete survey of the celestial body

There was a time, a number of patches ago, where your precursor was determined by where in the galaxy you started.

That’s good to know thank u. Why won’t the devs give us the option to customize 💀
Finishing up your degree? Sooo...currently living on coffee and chocolate bars 24/7 ;-)
Good luck, mate!
Next Time on Stellaris RNG-- Will our Hero Ep3o Survive? Or Will his Mind Crack under the PRESSURE!

Wow didn’t realise how lucky I was!

Zroni? I had them once in 10 years
Huh, normally I check the achievements when a new dlc comes out, but I forgot to do that with cosmic storms.
Star that isn't connected is the unique system connected only by a wormhole. Not a precursor.
The only achievements I don't have now, because I don't have the DLC 😂
I don't think the cultists are attached to any precursor, it's just a random event to get a ship at the end.
Don't even buy it
Man, you are a legend in my eyes! Keep up!

I personally use the mod that gives me all of the precursors
Ep3o's # of achievements = O( x^e )
PDX's # of achievements = O( e^x )
got these a bit ago took like 7 hours to get all four.
Every system gets a precursor flag (that it could be found there), and those system are kinda grouped
Subbed to get you to 55K... might ubsub once you have all the achievements, but I'll ride along till then
I despise there's a mod killing Gurr..
Ep3o: Okey so I got the Galatron...... BUT I'M NOT DONE YET!
Ep3o removing fun from from stelaris since 04.02.2024

I am the first! Whoop!
not playing stellaris on steam. so i dont care.
F RNG - bad achievement design. They should be immersive and give reasons for amazing story driven playthroughs. Hashtag IMMERSION
Bad monitization design
