The entire tree is just 70d focus slop, and when you finally get to the bottom to the Turan part, it's decent but it's so late in the game it's literally useless
By the time you get there Russia or Germany is already on the verge of capping and everyone is in the Allies so you can't do anything without it turning into a World Conquest.
Do you know where Turkey in Hoi4 is also infamous for? Randomly declaring war on the Soviet Union while being in the allies while Historical AI is ON. That has repeatedly ruined games for me! (AI allies or Soviets already eating rocks against the Axis deciding it's a better idea to fight each other as well.....)
It is honestly really annoying, I was doing everything I could to push into Italy as Allied Bulgaria, when all of a sudden some AI gremlin decides to open a second front right on my northern borders with the Soviets (I already capitulated Romania). I have to strat redeploy 75% of my army, losing northern Italy and got stuck in 'Mannerheim-mode' for 2 ingame years until my airforce clears up the opposition. I'm good with some 'operation unthinkable' action, but the Axis hadn't even capitulated yet.
I took my first long break from the game because of this and I've never gone back to Vanilla since either. I play on the hardest difficulty because of the brain dead AI at least in vanilla, so after a very long build up, finally holding back the germans at the gates of Moscow and preparing a counter-offensive, game instantly ruined by Turkey.
I remember going for the achievement for never losing a tile of land and for having only puppets as neighbors. My army, holding the Polish Border, Garrisoning every coastal tile in case of a stupid invasion, having an eastern army in case Japan somehow comes in, all for Turkey to do this to me multiple times.
There is also a "hidden" path where you go down the focus tree to reform the Ottoman Empire and get the civil war but instead of actually restoring the Sultan you can go down the reconfigure Turkish Foreign Policy path making everything you did for nothing and leaving the country in a limbo as the Provisional State of Anatolia.
The Turkish tree is stupid. It has some good focuses but by the time you there, everyone is guaranteed or WW2 has been going on for 3 years, there is next to no industrial focuses, everything is convoluted, and the most important parts of Turkiye during that time like the Kurdish resistance gets a bunch of button clicks. Turkiye, USA, and Japan are awful trees. Meanwhile, Paradox is giving us an entire South American trees for countries that had little to no influence in the war.
I like having focuses for minor nations even those that did nothing cuz I rather make my own history than copy paste what already happened. But seriously after the next dlcs they should rework some other nations including battle for bosphorus group
@@1mikeymouse1 Ha, that's pretty funny tbh. Not like the comment is intellectual property so it doesn't really matter I just hope the sentiment spreads, the Turkish tree is very rough.
I wish they just change it to the way that modders did years ago like “AGORA” or “Better Turkey” They don’t need to do anything just adapt it to vanilla
i was going for the ottoman achievement as turkey, didnt really read the event pop ups correctly so i was just casually locked out of the focus tree and had to start over lmao

1:50 ISP, if you are on historical the Soviets are hard coded to back down every time even though the Brits abandon you, as long as you keep standing up to the pressure without caving. But obviously that's only on historical, if you're on nonhistorical you better be praying to the RNG gods lol

I actually like the Turkey tree... It's wonderfully cheesy and outrageous towards the end. But I like playing super late games, unlike almost everyone else.
you should try to keep atatürk as head of the state and call him to the service. If you pick peace at home focus and switch inonü with sükrü saracoglu, atatürk will not die even though the game says he does. As for calling him to the service , just gurantee the independence of finland the moment world tension is 40 percent (you can only get that event on defensive wars). the rest is getting all the bonuses of factions without joining them while u are holding soviets around grozny supply hub, collecting war participation.
It's honestly kind of funny how bad Turkey is in the DLC. I'd say the DLC is definitely up there in the worse HOI4 DLC's. But Turkey probably to this day has the worse FT. Like the Balkan Pact must not have had any real testing done. As by the time you get to it. WW2 has usually started, and declaring on any nation at that point is a massive risk of them joining a faction dragging you into WW2 not ready.
Playing turkey is like being with your family during thanksgiving (For you non Americans/Canadians imagine christmas diner) It's filled with pointless pleasentries, there's lots of arguing, and at the end of it all you just want to nuke everything
Turkey combined with UK, Mexico, and the USA and Canada. Imagine the FOOD. They’ll have mini burgers on sticks, covered with spices ole gravy and cheese curds. They’ll call it Kaburtene.
With how big and convoluted it is, the Turkish focus tree should really hide the paths that have become inaccessible to you.

The Turkish focus tree is about as understandable as the Navy in hoi4
IDK man Navy seems less esoteric
The only thing that I can put out with the focus tree is the Ottoman Empire.
I understand it but i have played every single path
Yes
It doesn't help the fact that the mutual paths don't disappear like in other focus trees
