Thank you mate I appreciate it, it is running around 285hp 440nm I have an uprated panel air filter, a uprated clutch with lightened flywheel that’s the only performance modifications. I think the JB4 tuning boxes are amazing, I had a JB+ which is the jb4’s little brother basically and that completely transformed my car and they only cost around £160 I’d recommend one of them and then a few month after getting a real custom remap.

Thanks mate I appreciate it! I sure miss this car now. I had mine mapped by a company called performance centre in Sunderland, yes it’s safe for 285hp completely stock but me personally I’d get an upgraded panel filter and use 99momentum fuel for best possible stage 1 power gains👍😃

Got the 210 works and looking to get the stage 1 but can I ask did it actually improve your mileage ?? can’t imagine it as I always drive in sports mode with exhaust on lol
Nice mate! Yeh it actually made my MPG go up by about 2/3 which isn’t bad at all!! It’s due to the added torque you can change gear so much sooner n the car just pulls effortlessly!! Obviously if you’re in sport mode giving it beans 24-7 it probably won’t get any better🤔😂 but the remap is definitely worth getting done!!

Hey mate, on this video I hadn’t done too much to the car, but through my ownership I did quite a bit! Upgraded clutch+ lightened flywheel, induction kit, intercooler, sports CAT, custom exhaust system, lowered it, wheel spacers, short shifter, front and rear maxton design splitter kit, and probably a few more things that I’ve forgot😂 oh it was also stage 2 tuned to around 300hp! Amazing car absolutely loved it. For you, I’d recommend lowering it and getting some wheel spacers! Then a sports CAT and a remap, the remap completely transforms these cars!

Standard they’re not slow neither so it’s nice keeping it standard for a while then once you do remap it they’re a complete different car they’re actually scary at times😂

I’d recommend going to dervtech if they’re nearby from you! I just had a panel filter, I currently have a proram (ramair) panel filter and it’s great!! Sounds awesome too.
I have a Clubman Cooper S F54 so same engine but heard horror stories about engines dying due to remaps so never bothered. My warranty is about to end though. Guessing a remap makes a substantial difference and puts you in similar leagues to the Golf R?
Yes mate same engine, don’t be scared by them stories they’re a complete load of crap mate trust me, these engines are good for up to 350hp, I would recommend upgrading your spark plugs if you’re going to tune it. The remap completely transforms the car mate, golf R’s don’t stand a chance in rolling races mate. I’ve raced loads of standard golf R’s and gapped them, I raced a stage 1 S3 360hp it was neck n neck that was DSG! Check out my ‘random encounters’ video I have a few races on there, C43 AMG, 440hp BMW 535D and other cars. These minis are no joke once tuned!:) hahaha.

I have had an uprated clutch put in mate, as the standard one started slipping the tiniest bit so just got a new paddle clutch put in capable of 700nm so plenty of room for play! With these you either get lucky and the standard clutch doesn’t slip even at 500nm etc or you get unlucky and it slips at as little as 400nm....
Benbrun no problem!:) thanks for commenting, yes the clutch I got came with a single mass lightened flywheel 3.8kg lighter than the standard one, it really helps the engine rev a lot more freely, I’d highly recommend getting one even if the standard clutch isn’t slipping tbh.
Hey mate, I usually just hold mine at about 2k rpm then just release the handbrake n you shoot off you don’t bog or anything, these cars launch pretty well tbh!!

I’d recommend an upgraded cold air intake! The pro ram induction kit is very fairly priced and sounds awesome.

Did you notice a change in the engine/exhaust sound?
Yes I noticed a difference in the exhaust note, It made the exhaust note deeper and the pops louder after having the remap done.
