Washing Machine Banging During Spin Cycle: Cause and Fix Whirlpool Vertical Modular and Many Others

The failure of a part in the suspension rods in a vertical modular washing machine can lead to severe banging and even damage to the machine during the spin cycle. The good news is that is that it is relatively cheap and fixable for the home repair person.
