    So this had nothing to do with ball joints or wheel bearings.

    Nice diagnosis on the bent spindle but no info on ball joints or bearings. I had a boss/shop owner back in the late 70's where we worked exclusively on the Datsun Z cars who would have come unglued to see one of us mechs toss that hubcap face down on the concrete like that....oh the memories!

      I didn't find anything wrong with the ball joints. I should change them and make a video about them

    So.....how do I check for worn ball joints or wheel bearings?

    • @daftpunk9050
      @daftpunk9050 2 роки тому +1

      for worn wheel bearing you wiggle the wheel up and down then turn 90 degrees and wiggle again to see if it moves. This works in many cases but it's not 100%. Sometimes the bad bearing is solid. You have to listen for the noise as you turn the wheel. You will hear a grinding sound. Gets louder when driving. For ball joints no idea.

    Use a torque wrench on your lug nuts. 95 to 110 lb.ft. normally.

    The title is very misleading, I came here looking for technical info and examples on how to test the ball joint and bearing to determine which part is causing it to fail the tyre shake test. Instead it was just loose bolts Nd a bent spind🤔

    Hi Pete, I was wondering if you can give me some advice. I was in an accident in which a driver hit my front passenger bumper and wheel. I was making a right turn onto a side street.The person was going down the shoulder of the road attempting to pass me. I was told by the autobody shop I need a spindle. The car is a Nissan Sentra 2002 GXE 1.8 liter engine, no ABS. The car has only 11,000 miles--that's why I got it repaired. The problem is getting a spindle for it ,so that the mechanic can fix the wheel. Txs. Jim from Newburgh, N.Y.

      When you hit the side of a wheel, lots of parts can get damaged and the spindle is one. The can get bent
