I live in Clarksville and recognized where you were in the first 3 seconds of your video. before exit 40. I will be making the same trip'ish from Chattanooga in 2 weeks.
Now this is the kind of riding I like to do. About 2 hours in the saddle, fill the tank, get a drink and back at it. Of course, I absolutely *love* touring; Maxi-scooter, cruiser, Gold wing, whatever. Just plop your butt in the saddle and go. I rode from Tulsa to Denver by way of Topeka on a Shadow once. Most fun I've ever had with my clothes on.
Just bought a 95 Helix a couple days ago, today was my first 2 hour ride on it, two lane highway. I had a Reflex before this one, and the Reflex sucked compared to my Helix. The Helix is sooo much more comfortable and stable on the highways. I have owned-ridden many various makes, sizes of bike in my life, and i believe that my Helix is going to be my all time favorite. After 2 hours riding, i feel like getting right back on it !!
I was much the same way with mine. I have owned over 27 motorcycles and scooters over the last 3 decades (but never a Goldwing) and only my Royal Star Midnight Venture came even close to the long distance comfort of the Helix. The Burgman 400 rides about as smooth and is honestly even more stable. But it lacks the legroom and seat comfort of the Helix. And if you put a backrest on a Helix, my lands! All friggn day comfortable! CONGRATS on joining the Helix family! I WILLLLL have another one someday. ;-)
I'm buying one in a couple of days and plan to ride it back from Pennsylvania to Topeka. I'll have to rent a motel room, but it should still be a blast. Give me a touring machine and I'm in hog heaven.
@@kellyrayburn4093 I'm buying one in a couple days after I finally recovered from a back injury enough to ride again. I cant wait to get back on the road and just ride. Been wanting a Helix ever since I saw one.
Thank you. And thanks for viewing them. The Helix looks old. heck it IS old. lol But that is also the beauty of it. A 20 year old 20k mile scooter that rides smoother and is more comfortable on long rides than any new model made today. Just needs a 400cc engine is all. :-D Thanks again and have a blessed day.
I wonder if one could replace the CN 250 Engine with either a 400, or 500 CC Honda Engine and have it mate up with the CVT Transmission, and not have any mechanical issues ?
Oh goodness, you forgot the sunscreen, that's gonna hurt, lol! Beautiful ride back! I agree, it's not about the miles, it's about the hours in the seat! Ouch!
Well, I did not really forget the sunscreen. I chose not to bring it because I had my full mesh Harley jacket on going to the ride. And I had full intention of wearing it on the way back. But did I? Nooooooooooooooooooo. LOL Wont do that again! Yet one more reason to wear gloves and a jacket even in the summer: if you don't crash it will at least prevent sunburn! hahaha! Thanks for watching and yall have a wonderful week !!
On the interstate it does exactly as Shown in the video. Asked for as traffic anywhere else on 65 mile per hour Posted speed limit Roads even riding 2 up it never has had any issues.
@@coyote102076 And that's why I'd rather have a Burgman, or even that 300(ish) cc Kymco Downtown(?). The interstate highways in my region are posted 70 MPH, so you'd think everyone would be cruising along at 75 MPH - but, no, it's 80 to 85 MPH. If I lived far from the big roads, and only had to worry about doing 60 on the two-lane "55 MPH" highways (and less than that in some of the curves), a Helix would be great. Well... adequate, certainly ;-).
@@wesgregg6451 Yes if one was to travel the interstates often, I certainly would (and DID). I eventually ended up with a Honda Silverwing 600cc scoot and later on got a Burgman 400. Both are featured on my channel as well. ;-) Thanks for watching.
Sorry. UA-cam never notified me of your comment. There was no phone mount. I had a large velcro patch on the back of the phone, and the corresponding velcro patch stuck in the center of the handlebars. It never once even on rough gravel roads fell off.

Fun stuff my friend I love that area, it is very pretty there. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed week my friend.
Geez, what a small World we live in, you passed through Dover, Tennessee on your ride, and I actually live just South of Dover, Delaware.

Seen video on 7/21/19✔️
I to own 2006 model. Would not sell at any price. One of the best made scooter ever made as a production bike. 🛵

How well does it keep up with the traffic...?

What phone mount are you using?

Nice ride!
