- Wasilla has a lot going for it. It has a lot of land for building, it's infrastructure is developing that enables the increase of local commerce, and most of the homes in the Valley are newer than what you can find in most of parts of Alaska. But there are some challenges facing Wasilla that are unique to it.

The zoning is something I'd like to look further into.
When they put in the Wasilla Parks Highway bypass the property values in Meadow Lakes and up the highway are going to increase.
Interesting about the zoning and infrastructure issues. I'm curious to see what happens over the years.
Yes!!! Everyone thinking of moving to Alaska please go to Wasilla. The Kenai Peninsula is a terrible area, don't move here ;)
Most of the "new business" to the valley is medical. Medical offices popping up all over the place! So if you are in this field and don't wanna live in the big city (Anchorage), Wasilla just might be the place. Bigger houses on bigger lots. The downside is that the other end of the spectrum is chain restaurants and box stores offering lots of low income jobs. Medical on one end, Target & Wal Mart on the other. Very little inbetween. But the Mat Su Valley is one of the fastest growing communities in the US.
Is mental health included in the medical opportunities there? Is Mat Su Valley growing faster than Flagler County, Florida?
@@karmathephoenix2474 45 years ago when I moved here there were about 17,000 people and now there about 120,000 people. We bought some land 20 years ago and the price has more than tripled. We have a few lots.
Please send a relocation guide Mr. Goceker. Thanking you in advance… Frederick J. Tanner.
What do tou see for Alaska seeing a succession? For Alaska being its own country?
its way to reliant on the mainland if it became its country it has no infrastructure or farming or anything besides drilling and logging for production meaning it would collapse economically. On top of the heavy federal government subsidies Alaska is not fit for that.
@@Marcus-yn4yh IF PLANNED RIGHT ALASKA CAN BE SELF RELIANT
@@mamabear1260 it could with significant investment possibly in the trillions of dollars and we need to create a gas manufacturing base because the crude oil is being shipped to China and refined then brought back to Alaska
