Ok. I now have an interest in a whole new style of playing!!! I have always loved the blues. Your playing sounds great!! And thank you for the tips on the half step notes Marcia.
Awesome, I love playing the blues as it fits into so many different songs from religious tunes to country music and blues itself. I can have a whole lot of fun with this as I play blues on guitar as well and panpipes. Thanks a lot for the info to save me looking it up or working it out over time. Sounds real cool.
On the third hole up, if you want to get really bluesy, three half step notes, going down, can be achieved by moving your finger half a step at a time over the hole. This can also, somewhat, be done with the highest note. I'm an experienced blues musician and I love that I have figured this out. You sound great! Michael
Lots of fun thank you !
Love it, good improves.
WOW! THAT IS SO INTERESTING! THANKS!
Thank You, that was very helpful!
I love it ! Thanks !!!
Very cool - thanks Kalani! I know what I'll be trying this weekend with my flutes.
Thank you!!!
Loved this video! Thank you, Kalani.
Most fun
what is that beautiful flute you are playing ? this was really fun!!!
Low E by Blue Star
Is the key of A best suited to play the blues scale on the Native American flute ? Great video. Your style of teaching is easy to follow. Thanks
The backing track key just needs to match the key of the flute: A flute and key of A for the music. The A flute ends up playing the C pentatonic scale, which is also the “blues” scale when played over A major.
I love this blues scale. What backing can I use on my keyboard with this. I play two native flutes Am and a small Cm. Thankyou
Any A major blues progression!
That third hole down seems to be unnecessary. Just a hole to constantly keep covered. Just put tape over it. Michael
Sorry but I don’t remember what the the numbers underneath the tabs mean
Scale degrees
The diagram is upright but you are holding your flute the opposite direction. Why do you do this? It's so disorienting.
