Same. We need more musicians like Jeff who have honed their craft and still remain passionate enough to educate others. It’s a beautiful thing to just learn more about something we love instead of being scared away from it like many of us were. My piano teacher used to smack my fingers with a ruler every mistake, I was fucking terrified of something I loved. Still at 40 years old, every time I open a piano i’m reminded of Ms Beatrice & her bold choice to embrace chin hairs & smacking, over empathy & education. I’d love to know what her motivation was to teach kids because the woman loathed my knuckles and fingers ✌🏻rip babe I’m glad the world has more Jeff‘s now. Thanks Jeff!

The hospital had a tracheal tube down my throat, which I ripped out when I woke up from my medically induced coma. They said it was likely I could have voice damage. Your videos have helped already to help me regain what I had before. Thank you so much, Jeff.
I always struggle because I, a female, have a low alto/high tenor range and never manage to quite fit into one or the other when looking for warmups. This perfectly hit my tenor range, dipping into alto without stretching my chest voice at all. Great for my daily warmups, and some of your other videos work well if I'm looking to warm up and stretch my alto/high chest voice range. Thanks so much for this!!

This is not only a fantastic warm up but it also helped me realize I had been singing a bit flat since I was a kid!! I've shared this with friends and family. You're helping a lot of people with these videos unquestionably. I'll never be some great singer but you've helped me to improve a lot. I want to thank you very, very much!
Thank you very much for your kind words! I made the channel in the hopes that folks would be able to use their voices a bit better and enjoy singing that much more for it! Glad to hear that the exercises are serving you in that capacity. Enjoy! Thank you for watching! Jeff
I was in show choir in high school and since covid-19 pins I haven't really been taking care of my voice but I'm glad that they're wonderful people like him on this app so I'm able to keep my voice nice and perky
Sounds odd but one of the reasons why I love this channel so much is the sound of this piano. It sounds amazing! All other channels have these digital pianos. This one is inspiring to sing to.
Such a soothing warm up, Jeff. I find many vocal eases to be acrobatic and I lose the ability to stay on my breath but this is one of my favorites and as long as I don't push it really works very well for me. Thanks

Now that I have the command over my voice and can explore it myself, I find this video is EXACTLY the warm up range I need, thank you so much for putting out videos like this
This is very helpful Jeff. Thank you. My voice is a Baritone and I am a band director, however I love to sing. I have been looking for some simple things to start training my pitch better and this is perfect. It also gives me some different things to think about. Thank you for sharing.
I used to take private lessons as a teenager and this is my first day and video of attempting warm-ups after not having done any warm-ups in 25 years. I'm sad to discover how much I've lost but I will be viewing this and other vids by Jeff to try to bring my voice back to where it used to be! I will not be defeated! 😁
Thanks for trying out the video! Welcome back to singing! Keep me up to date on your re-entry! You'll find that there's lots to choose from here and I'm quite responsive! Best, Jeff
Jeff, I've been using this warmup and a bunch of your other videos for about a year now, and I can't thank you enough. I'm not a great singer, but I've made a ton of progress, and your videos have been more than instrumental in my growth as a singer. Thanks, man
I absolutely love your videos. So tremendously helpful and very clear. I get a thrill everytime I'm practicing. Do continue your excellent work and I'll have the pleasure to do my warm ups everyday. Your 'uu's are catmint for me. Have a nice day.🌻
You know a good teacher because they know when the student will feel unsure and know when to make eye contact to reassure them ha ha this video took me back to music lessons as a kid. Bless ❤
Thank you Jeff for this awesome alto warm up exercise. I just started in my church choir and this will help me with singing in the church. If you can't find your alto range, just play around with it till you find what is comfortable for you and stick to that if that helps. I am no expert but seen some comments is all. Thanks Jeff, you remind me of my choir teacher so many years ago i worked with at Indiana State University in Indiana USA. Awesome vocal techniques.
I am usually using this EVERDAY for my vocal practice and my endurance is only becoming much stronger. Jeff Rolka, you are a beast at your job sir! Keep the tenor videos coming! It would be my pleasure to recognize you when I become a SUPERSTAR! 💪🏽🎶👌🏾🎤🤙🏾
Jeff, I want to take the time to thank you. I’ve been singing for 20 years, mostly heavy stuff, and never took any singing classes. I’ve always been struggling with a few precise things, although I’ve developed tricks to hide them and managed to have a rewarding career. I’ve been trying for a long time to understand my flaws and learn techniques from coaches who were closer to my type of powerful voice and style, without much success. Then I found your exercices for tenors and everything fell into place. Every gig has been a breeze since then. You have changed the way I sing forever! From Montréal, merci beaucoup!
Thank you so much for sharing this with me! I am so happy to hear that the videos have helped so much! Keep enjoying the channel and great work with your singing! All the best! Jeff
Don't know for sure, i can sing things a countertenor does in full voice, usually i train myself with some women music, another male that could easily reach those notes when he was young is Andre Matos, from Angra, listen to Stand away, reaching horizons, Nothing to say and Carry on and you'll get it :).
Same problem I have! Its nice to have this video that actually goes low enough for me! I sing in two different choirs and one I sing with the Tenors and the other I sing alto and soprano 2. So this is a nice comfortable range for me when its tenor night 😉
So good to be back here warming up with you again buddy, honestly one of the bits which has made me feel like things might go back to some kind of normal. Stay safe and thank you for this, and the 15 minutes we spend together before every gig and rehearsal
Your methodology is amazing. Makes it easy and fun to learn and practice. I watch your videos every day and thank you so much for being such a vocal coach committed to the art of music. Greetings from Brazil.
You have such a calm speaking voice, i wish my mornings started with on of your "and"s lol Reminds me of high school as a beginner musician taking lessons. Thx for the warm up!
Hey, these are pretty awesome! Had a show rehearsal last night and felt like I completely blew a tire, so I'm glad I took the time to check you out. Thank you!
My voice will naturally go to the notes without force. I think that's what these exercises are designed to help people achieve. Natural resonance with the tone. It's all in my pallet with these frequencies. I see where this can be very helpful. It's very weird when you have natural resonance cause you feel that each note is in a uber close position on your top pallet.
I'm a female, contralto I believe ... and this is so much more comfortable for me to sing with than the alto video, though I can sing there ok too. Is this usual? I think in highschool I was typed as mezzo by one accompanist and alto by another for a school play. I always felt confused by that...
+Rosskay Determing fache (vocal range) takes time and can vary from day to day to some degree. It's worth noting as well that the differences between individual faches is really tiny and can depend more on the overall characteristics of a voice rather than the individual's overall range. Getting on to you question, though, no, this is not unusual. Not even accounting for individual differences there is a lot of overlap in the thyro arytenoid (chest voice) dominant singing voices of tenors, altos and mezzos. Worth noting as well, different schools of voice will assign fache designations differently, so the two different assessments by your accompanists may have been entirely accurate based upon their training. There's a lot of that sort of thing in vocal pedagogy unfortunately. I hope that helps! Jeff
+Jeff Rolka Wow! Thank you so much! I wish I would have done more with singing and had formal training, I always wanted to pursue and improve with singing. I would have loved to have you as a teacher back then too. I love your videos, thank you for posting them.

Jeff
you have a calming presence. it helps for relaxing my voice
Jeff
Warm Up - 0:48
I was in show choir in high school and since covid-19 pins I haven't really been taking care of my voice but I'm glad that they're wonderful people like him on this app so I'm able to keep my voice nice and perky
8:45 what did he say? I couldn’t hear because the piano it sounded like he was saying “ UE UE UE UE U E
You heard correctly!
Jeff
I use this almost everyday with the singing over the break warmup video for 1/2 hour hard rock warm up before going onstage. Works like a charm ✨
Hey man I started doing this everyday. I have been doing it for 2 weeks now. My voice has already improved so much. Subscribed and liked.
Brilliant! Thank you for watching and keep up the great work!!
Jeff
I am so happy to see this video crossed 1million views. helped me soo much! Thank you Jeff!!!
It did indeed! Very exciting!
Jeff
Jeff's warm-ups are useful and he looks like Chest Rockwell, which adds extra fun to using his videos.
Especially upside down in the reflection.
Sounds odd but one of the reasons why I love this channel so much is the sound of this piano. It sounds amazing! All other channels have these digital pianos. This one is inspiring to sing to.
Thank you so much for that. I try really hard to mic it up nicely, and it's good to hear that that is coming through.
Such a soothing warm up, Jeff. I find many vocal eases to be acrobatic and I lose the ability to stay on my breath but this is one of my favorites and as long as I don't push it really works very well for me. Thanks
If you like this, and enjoy more soothing warm ups, consider trying some of my 'gentle' warm ups!

Thank you for being here!
Jeff
I'm a trans masculine person who has been a singer since I was a kid. I was always put with the sopranos despite having a naturally deep voice. Now that I have the command over my voice and can explore it myself, I find this video is EXACTLY the warm up range I need, thank you so much for putting out videos like this
Idk why i chose to do this so late in the night
Omg same its 11pm now
These videos are definitely in the upper echelons of UA-cam based vocal teaching. Keep it up, man! Great stuff!
Thank you very much! I will! Thanks for watching!
Jeff
This is very helpful Jeff. Thank you. My voice is a Baritone and I am a band director, however I love to sing. I have been looking for some simple things to start training my pitch better and this is perfect. It also gives me some different things to think about.
Thank you for sharing.
Seriously this vocal warm up video has been the best for me too I swear
That was excellent, this is my warm up video for now.

Best,
Jeff
Thanks Jeff this has helped me improve to the point were I've been going back in my up and coming album and re-doing vocal tracks.
I’ve never commented before but your content for a few years has been a useful tool for me before almost every performance, I just wanna thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate it and am glad that the videos are serving you well! May they continue to do! Enjoy the channel!
Jeff
Lol bro I've been using this as my everyday warm up for like a few months. appreciate u Jeff
Awesome! Thank you for watching!
Jeff
I use this DAILY. It’s a great balance of challenging/easy. Thank you! -Elijah
Still warming up with this till this day!
Jeff, I've been using this warmup and a bunch of your other videos for about a year now, and I can't thank you enough. I'm not a great singer, but I've made a ton of progress, and your videos have been more than instrumental in my growth as a singer. Thanks, man
Awesome! Really glad to hear that they've helped!
You have the moves so nicely
This has become my favorite vocal warm up ever. I use it pretty much everyday, this and the falsetto one. Thank u Jeff, you're absolutely fabulous.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching and singing a-long!
Jeff
So I'm a bari-tenor and im tryna practice my tenor range and this video helps a lot thanks again
I do your warm up on a regular basis and it's absolutely great :-)
I am usually using this EVERDAY for my vocal practice and my endurance is only becoming much stronger. Jeff Rolka, you are a beast at your job sir! Keep the tenor videos coming! It would be my pleasure to recognize you when I become a SUPERSTAR! 💪🏽🎶👌🏾🎤🤙🏾
Help! I'm having a glottal attack!
😂😂😂
Jeff
when you can't find an alto warm up video that goes low enough :P
I have a male version of your problem... i can't find a high exercise that goes beyond the high C, and i can reach E in chest voice.
Are you like Leggero tenor?
Don't know for sure, i can sing things a countertenor does in full voice, usually i train myself with some women music, another male that could easily reach those notes when he was young is Andre Matos, from Angra, listen to Stand away, reaching horizons, Nothing to say and Carry on and you'll get it :).
Just what I thought! ;-) Have been looking for contralto-warm ups! ;-)
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! Break a leg!
Jeff

..brilliant! I use this warm up almost every day - keep up the great work!
Thank you! Will do!
Wonderful thank you! Pushing me through my break up and down and over again is an awesome warm up!
Your methodology is amazing. Makes it easy and fun to learn and practice. I watch your videos every day and thank you so much for being such a vocal coach committed to the art of music. Greetings from Brazil.
You have such a calm speaking voice, i wish my mornings started with on of your "and"s lol
Reminds me of high school as a beginner musician taking lessons. Thx for the warm up!
Incredible job, Jeff! I always use your videos before tracking vocals. Thank you for providing such great tools. - Steve
Fantastic! I'm glad to help!
All the best,
Jeff
Yep same, it's my ritual now!

Hey, these are pretty awesome! Had a show rehearsal last night and felt like I completely blew a tire, so I'm glad I took the time to check you out.
Thank you!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Jeff
My voice will naturally go to the notes without force. I think that's what these exercises are designed to help people achieve. Natural resonance with the tone. It's all in my pallet with these frequencies. I see where this can be very helpful. It's very weird when you have natural resonance cause you feel that each note is in a uber close position on your top pallet.
You have it exactly right.
Best,
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Should your hand be moving by itself when you feel the music? I don't think this is normal. I know this sounds absolutely crazy.
Great warmup! Thank you for your content, 5 years after and still so useful :)
+Rosskay You're very welcome! Thanks for your question and best of luck singing! Keep practicing and stay in touch!
Jeff
lol mee too
