Ça fait plaisir de voir l'essor d'un youtuber Canadien-français! Ne serait-ce que pour ta prononciation d'Étienne de Blois et Isabelle de Valois!
Il faut bien représenter notre langue, même en anglais ✨
His name is William Rufus. Not whatever name you were using.
Hapsburg jaw because mommy says it's a strong jaw for a strong boy
OVERSIMPLIFIED LOL😂😂😂😂😂
Tis a sign of power that the king needs a servant to chew his food, of course!
I love this!
This is the main reason I got interested in HOTD and its universe. You get to think, theorize and "scheme" all the while relating things to real life happenings. It poses questions about power, morals, religion and even psychology without you having to worry about the moral repercussions because no one is actually getting hurt.
Love the video, great work!
Thanks!!
everybody is thinking weather they are team black or green, mostly black but I think that we actually should think probably about the small folk...innocent people who suffer and die while rich and powerful fight for what is rightfully theirs...
@@HK-gm8pe Is it "rightfully" theirs tho? I like to look at it in a morally-grey lense, if not a completely black one. I am kind of sick of the good-guy-who-has-to-do-bad-things narrative I want to see how far a person with too much power can go to get what they want and not necessarily deserve. But at the same time HOTD shows us a more humane interpretation of people in power, because people are choosing sides and liking characters! Idk, I might be looking too deep into it...
Another UA-camr pointed out another reason for Targaryen incestuous marriages. To keep all the dragon riders in the family. Jaehaerys and Alysanne had thirteen children, imagine if they had made marriage pacts with some of the top houses in Westeros and their children had had children. They could have had dragon riders in Lannisport, in the Riverlands, in the North, etc. A Targaryen civil war could have started a lot sooner.
This video is amazing and a great dissection of HOTD. I feel like despite politics being such an integral part of ASOIAF and its adaptations, it’s often quickly forgotten and an underrated discussion topic so I’m really glad to see a video like this.
Hey! Thanks a lot!!
I love your use of history here, since GRRM draws so much from early English history! It's also nice getting to see the "she-wolves" Matilda and Isabelle getting some attention outside of obscure BBC documentaries!
Also, something I don't hear often in regards to the looks of Alicent's children and the Hightower gene pool: the Hightowers actually have Valyrian traits, namely silver and light golden hair. It would be easier for Alicent's children to look Valyrian than any children Rhaenyra had with Harwin, since she already has similar phenotypical genes to the Targaryens.
Facts, House Hightower may be related to ancient Dragonlords of the "Great Empire of the Dawn"
And I though her OG hair style was supposed to be blonde as well, but the later concept art of her being a Brunette stuck more I guess.
I can’t believe you have less than 500 subscribers, the quality of these videos is STUNNING! You’re going to blow up any day. Thanks for the superior HotD content 🧡

Well done man, great job, congrats. 🇧🇷
Thanks for the video!
For English speakers - the man who challenged Matilda's claim to the English throne was called "Stephen" in English.
Stephen was the third son of Adele/Adela of Normandy. Both his birth order and the fact that he was claiming the throne through his mother's side should have weakened his claim; but men didn't want a woman on the throne, so they were fine with it. In HOTD a direct parallel would be Daeron being crowned over Aegon.
Really interesting!! Great content
Thank you!
Really well made video :)

That the thumbnail is shaded in more green than red should be all you need to know about the politics behind HoTD. Great symbolism, its the whole ass reason I clicked 👌

Aaaw thank you Michelle 😊
I like the irl examples you provide in contrast with HotD.

The 90% of internet is team black, I love to see another greenchad here.
Facts the Greens have swayed me over this season. Fire and Blood’s perspective of them was verrryy different though.
yuck , i wouldn't have any problem with the green if they weren't religious zealots and usurpers...
The internet is mostly gen Z woke feminists that’s why. Team black is about feminism. They’re liberals. Team green is about honor and tradition. They’re conservatives.
@@ThomasFoolery8 What’s the honor in usurping the named heir to the throne? Most of the honorable houses supports rhaenyra such as the starks, tullys and arryns. What a shitty take
@@ThomasFoolery8 That might've meant something if the writers actually understood what feminism is, which they don't. Feminism isn't women = good and men = bad. Just because Rhaenyra is a woman who wants a position of power, doesn't make her any more feminist than, say, Margaret Thatcher. What has Rhaenyra done for other women the entire season? That's right, nothing.
Love your analysis. That Florida ad ugh a good reminder why my state sucks.
A better comparison for the incest is the Egyptians who married brother and sisters. Habsburgs was other relatives that don't make the family tree look as confusing as the Ptolemaic dynasty for example.
Your french is great btw, where are you from?👀
ha ha thanks - French is my 1st language - I'm Canadian 🇨🇦
Yep grrm is a historic nerd
> Targaryens secretly thought of themselves as closer to gods
Well, not that secretly, Doctrine of Targaryen Exceptionalism was pretty public.
Are you French Canadian?
I am!
@@guihuppe j’ai reconnue l’accent, sinon ce que tu fait c vrm bon continue de meme .
Merciiii!
Viserys, good man, bad King.
Debatable if he was a good man either since he neglected his children from his second marriage and called rhaenyra his “only child” and allowed her to be spoiled and entitled and get away with actions that are considered crimes in Westeros simply because he loved his first wife more. No wonder the green kids are messed up and bitter and hate rhaenyra for receiving the love they never got.
Otto is the real goat. Daemon is straight MCU cringe
Otto has big balls. I mean he went two times to dragonstone without a dragon on his side and at least one one the opposing side. True Alpha.
The "Daemyra" legions will be onto you soon
Tyland Lannister >>>>>> Otto the virgin. Chad Tyland survives the Dance and did wonderfull for the greens, while Otto will die soon.
@@targaryen7029 Yeah ofc. Tyland is a gigachad. He was the main reason for maegor with teat's downfall. He's a honorary green so ofc I'm with him. As for Otto lets be real he failed cause of Aegon's impulsiveness. His strategy of caution was the right move. But Aegon decided to go with Criston who messed everything up even more.
I'm a Black supporter but I really enjoy Otto's character. His welding of political power is masterful.
Great video
Thank you 😊
