  • On Dragonstone, the Targaryens were the last remnants of the race of Valyrian dragonlords. During the Century of Blood following the Doom, the Targaryen family cemented itself on Dragonstone, culminating in Aegon the Conqueror in 27 BC, 75 years after the Doom. Before he did his conquesting, Aegon married his sisters, traveled Westeros, goofed on some people in Volantis, and more.

But however for the lords and peoples under the freehold in Westoros life probably wouldn't have been great as under the targaryens, they would have been simply viewed as a renewable resource not living breathing humans .The lords and kings of the continent would have been annihilated and i could go on and on about the atrocities that would have been committed in Westoros by the valyrians

    • @Bouchico
      @Bouchico 11 днів тому +1

      Bruv. It's politics. Of course her detractors would call her so. Also, since no one knew about the secret marriage of Rhaegar and Lyanna, on top of what the mad king did to the Starks, there was enough justification to overthrow the Targaryens. Given that the reason they came to power was because of their dragon force and they had none anymore, at this point, having said all that, it is normal thar their was a rebellion. It's not like rulers have a god-given right to rule. Maybe some did in the show, but they are few. So yeah, Rob Baratheon literally won the crown and is literally king. So yea, technically daenerys is a usurper for all of those reasons. Had the mad king had his way, there would be no more King's Landing and no more iron throne to rule.

      You mean my sources? I cited every quote I used, and all the other information about Aegon comes from the books. Any of my own guesses/predictions I believe I made pretty clear, unless there’s something specific you’re talking about.

      @@CrusaderChris apologies if this came across the wrong way. I didn’t want to listen to the video because of spoilers so I just wanted to know if you mentioned which books you got the info from that’s all, thanks for the reply!

      Ohhh, ok. I usually add spoiler warnings but I didn’t this time, so my bad. There aren’t any spoilers for the main ASOIAF books, but I use some footage that would spoil Game of Thrones if you haven’t seen the show. There are minor spoilers for House of the Dragon season 1, but this video doesn’t spoil anything major from the books or the shows. This is just a lore video for what Aegon was doing way before the books or HotD start. Thanks!

    A lot of people already wrote this but man, imagine that massive franchise money if they made quality more close to the story series or film. They could even create a separate pay wall and own platform for that and bring in more money that way. I know that I would subscribe at least. And just like GRRM did when he wrote the fire and blood, the show writers should consult with fan experts and learn how the characters should be portrayed. I love Peter but man they messed up Lord Tyrions characters so bad in last few seasons of GoT.

    It just is what it is. Dramond completely broke Poole. He hasn’t been the same since 2022. Wiggins from the championship has disappeared and Clay is definitely not a play the give a lot of money to. All that plus Wiseman being such a bad fit that they didn’t even try to develop and this is how you get here. It was a great run but like so many others it’s at its end.

      We learn in A Clash of Kings that it’s made from wood when Stannis is on Dragonstone. GRRM calls it a “massive slab of carved wood.” I was just guessing that it’s driftwood; it could be any type of wood. So maybe that other video was just theorizing that the HotD Painted Table is different somehow.
