    I'm studying abroad in France with an ISEP Exchange program, so I'm explaining what the process was like for me! The research takes a long time, the applications are long (and can be expensive), and the visa process is nuts! But it is possible! Give yourself lots of time to figure it out! -

    it sounds like alot of work, but you are really lucky. I envy your independence. I know that you only show us what you want us to see, but I must say it's a wonderful experience seeing you mature to the independent girl you are now. I may never get to meet you in person, that's why I really appreciate your videos. It's the only way I can see you. :'-)

    Omg, I like your lipstick......I think the best way to be fluent in speaking a new language is to travel to the country and be friends with the native. I studied abroad in Mexico and Costa Rica and I can say now that I’m able to speak Spanish with no hesitation and fear.

    I always wanted to study abroad since the forth grade, its been a dream of mine to travel to Japan and study there. Mostly because I am a weeb and I would love to see their customs, learn their language, and get to just see Tokyo in general. I am not sure how I will even be able to do it nor do I fully understand how the whole system works for when you want to study abroad, like do you learn the language when you are there? because that seems somewhat like a necessity of some sorts especially if you were to head out with friends im supposing you would need to know the language at least a little bit. or even how long could you study abroad for, say you wish to go abroad for a whole 2-4 years would that even be possible?
    I am only a sophomore in high school now so I do have time to plan out my future and save up money for the program but I do really hope I get the chance to study abroad.😅

    • @kelst9381
      @kelst9381 4 роки тому

      You got this! I work in the field of study abroad and even though you're only a sophomore, that is a great time to plan for studying abroad! First of all - study abroad is any academic experience that you receive credit for abroad. Education abroad includes study abroad, but also includes volunteering abroad, internships abroad etc. There are tons of study abroad programs out there that range from a couple of weeks to doing your entire degree in a country. You can even study abroad in high school! Here are some options on how you can go abroad:
      #1 Go to college in Japan: You could actually just do your whole college experience in Japan. Here are some options www.topuniversities.com/blog/3-places-study-japan-english.
      #2 When you get to college, choose a study abroad program: Typically, when you study abroad through a U.S. university, you can go for as little as a few weeks up to a full academic year. Then, the credits that you earn abroad can transfer back to your home university in the U.S. What you can do now is research "best universities for study abroad" to find the most study abroad friendly schools. These schools will have the most options for you to go abroad and most financial support. Their study abroad office can help you plan! Just google your school of choice and "study abroad office" to get started once you're on campus. You can start planning as soon as freshman year to go abroad.
      #3 You can go outside of school: You won't earn any academic credit, but you can eventually teach English in Japan and get paid to live there! An example is the JET program. You need to graduate from college first, but you can apply to the program once you do. jetprogramusa.org/how-to-apply/
      #4 Don't want to wait? Study abroad in high school: You can go abroad as a high school student. You may need to talk to your school first if you want to go during the school year, or you can go during the summer. You can definitely go abroad again once you are in college, but it could be a great experience to get you used to being in a different country. There is actually a Japanimation - Anime and Manga program for high schoolers or language and culture. www.experiment.org/program/japan-japanimation-anime-manga-2/
      As you can see, there are many opportunities to go abroad - even multiple times! The earlier you plan the better. You can do research now as a high school student so that you are prepared for whenever you want to go abroad. Hope this helps!

    this is very late (im researching studying abroad as im starting my freshman year) but do you have any tips on choosing a language to learn? I took latin in high school (I regret it lmao) so need to starting taking classes in my chosen language asap

    • @dragonking5767
      @dragonking5767 5 років тому

      Emilee • hey Emilee I’m an upcoming freshman too but I’ve been researching this since high school and I can tell you that you should learn a language that you love based on the culture of where it’s from, and the possible usefulness in your future so for me I have been leanrning Spanish since 9th grade and i want to go to Spain in order to perfect my language skills that is not to say that i will not go to other countries (because i will since Europe is interconnected) but Spain is my main priority you may also choose based on your major or you can even take it easy your first time and go to a country that is your first language (for me that is English so an easy chill option would be London) so overall it all depends on what you want in a language, what you will use it for, and how often do you plan on using it because if you don’t use it you’ll lose it (like me with spanish😂)
      P.S once you do find the language of your dreams I would strongly recommend minoring in it, just a consideration

      I would say Spanish. Since Spanish is the most spoken language in the world after mandarin. And if you learn Spanish you will be able to understand Italian, French and Portuguese since they all come from Latin

    I am a senior in high school, and i’m planning on studying abroad in the UK in sophomore year of college for the entire year. I’ve looked at colleges i’m interested in and their studying abroad programs, and I don’t really understand how the ordeal works. They say they have schools affiliated with them, but i rly want to go to this one specific college (and it wasn’t mentioned on any of the college’s program websites). is it possible I could still get there??
