I've watched a BUNCH of study abroad videos and this is definitely the most informative/ realistic one I've seen. Like I'm not too stressed about packing I just want to know how to manage my finances and navigate the country LOL so THANK YOU!!!
Omg, yes, this definitely was the most helpful study abroad videos I have watched. Thankfully, I didn’t need to search too far to find this video. The financial tips you mentioned with the credit card and exchange rates as well as the SIM cards were some of the thing my mom mentioned before going abroad. You really confirmed what she said I needed to do. 😅 I’ll also keep the CityMaps on my phone, that seems like a very useful map going around the city.
YES!!! BE INDEPENDANT!!! The first time I went to Paris - with 5 girlfriends - everyone had to go everywhere together!!! It's ok to be independent and figure it out on your own!
Girl you are real one!!!! Whenever you look into studying abroad trips or ask someone they usually don't give the practical specifics (currency, phone plan, etc.), thank you so much!
The independent part is so important for just uni in general! I relied too much on my friends in my first year of uni. It wasn't until my 2nd year that i finally started doing things on my own, and it was amazing! You have so much more freedom on your own and you get to explore places that you really want to see. I've never understood ppl who go to uni but never take advantage of the freedom and individuality that they now have lmao

okay so my question is - did you call your phone company to unlock your phone for international call sim plan or an international sim card that you'd get in a different country
Yeah this was super helpful! You don’t really think about the everyday conveniences until you don’t have it. I have a question! You mentioned bringing a carry-on. My parents are telling to take a check in instead bc I’ll be gone in 5-6 months. But tbh bc I know there’s so much cobblestone streets and stairs. And I am planning to travel around before and after my exchange, idk if lugging a large suitcase is a smart idea. I was thinking of bring a big backpack as my carry on and a personal bag. Not sure if that’s going to be enough tho
it really depends on how minimalistic you can live! since you plan to travel a lot, i would steer clear of a HUGE suitcase. truly, if you bring 5 tops and 5 pairs of pants, you essentially have 25 different outfits (given they all are basics that match.) I think it's possible!!! you might just have to make some sacrifices when it comes to packing.
