Thank you so much for making this video!! I've always been interested in studying abroad ever since I was like 13 years old. I'm Dutch and I'm a freshman in college, studying Management Tourism so studying abroad is obviously talked about a lot. I'm for sure thinking about either studying abroad or doing an internship abroad in my third year of college and I can't wait. Everyone that has done it always talks so positive about it and that it changed their life and hell yes I'm ready for it
I literally cannot afford to study abroad, I don't qualify for scholarships and I don't even get financial aid which is really difficult. I have to drop a year of school to currently work two part time jobs that pay very little just to save up for two semesters worth of school here in the states and not even my parents help me. So, no it is not affordable for everyone because some people have to pay for their education out of pocket. Just food for thought. I mean it must be very wonderful to afford studying abroad but that is way out of my reach, sadly. =(
Hi there ! If studying in the US too expensive for you, I might be able to help you out. French universities do not cost a lot of money. I am Canadian, and I'm doing another degree for around 250euros PER YEAR. so if you are struggling, maybe look into that :)
95% of french universities are public and reputable (one of the rare private ones is Université catholique de Lille, HEC Paris). That means that 95% of universities cost the exact same in all of France regardless of the major that you are choosing. So wether it is in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Reims, Marseille etc, it's going to cost you about (250 euros) 300$USD MAX. You will have to add 250 euros for health insurance. Same costs wether you're in medical school, law school, business, economics, psychology, mathematics, humanities etc. Same fees in all cities. You will also need to apply for a student VISA that will cost you around 200$USD. You will have to justify that you are able to live with a minimum of 620 euros per month during your stay. My original plan was to live with 1000 euros/month. My family encountered financial problems during the first month that I have gotten here, and ever since I live with 600-650 euros/month. I also live in a popular city, so yes it is doable (but it's harder). Groceries here are not as expensive as in north America. phone plans/wifi either. the only annoying thing is finding an apartment, which I advise you to look into well in advance (NOT a month before moving in). My advice to you is to live with a minimum of 800 euros/month if you don't want to be deprived of the essentials. :)
I'm studying abroad in France this fall, and I've been researching a ton in preparation. I recently found your videos which are the most helpful study abroad videos I've found thus far! Thanks so much for posting these!
YAY this was so so helpful. I'm planning to study abroad in France in the fall quarter and have been stressing about the financial part of it. LOVE THIS & ALSO SO HAPPY YOU'RE HAPPYY!!
I a lot of people at my university actually study aboard during their sophomore year because depending on the program you are in, it's easier to get your gen ed. out of the way aboard rather than take major classes aboard (again depending on your major)
I'm applying to a bunch of film schools in England(Bradford, Leeds, Essex etc) and this is soo helpful just like all of the videos you made obout this. Thanks so much for them 💚
THIS VIDEO ROCKS. I'm planning on studying abroad ~next~ spring and I'm an Animal Ecology major which has a lot of biology requirements like Claire's major. Save up those gen eds/electives for abroad because it's very possible to do those! Also, if you find schools that offer biology classes, (this is what I have done) make sure that they can transfer over at the appropriate level that you want to bring back to your home school!
thank you so much im only 11 and my grades are good and im studying korean language so i can go abroud wjen im a junior so thanks this really helped me a lot!!
s/o the rose' in the background haha ilu tiffany. also yes this video! i just went on my first solo trip and now im like I NEED TO TRAVEL NOW.. i srsly wanna look into teaching english thank u for making videos like this that are like... YO DREAMS R POSSIBLE
Random, but can you tell us where you get your clothes, both in France and America? I just feel like in every video and insta you have the best sense of style/fashion!!
I have always wanted to study abroad but I didn't think it would be good for me academically or financially..I'm going to do my research so I could make this possible! Thank you for the tips/advice!
Hey!! I'm planning to go for a summer to the same school you went to. Aix-en-Provence. and I'm very undecided about if I want to stay ina. dorm of I should go for a home, staying with a family. I heard that's a good way to have a full experience and it will also save me some money in food. But some people say that some families have strict rules and ... I don't know, I don't know what to DO. What do you think from your experience?
Thanks so much!! I am trying to decide when/where to study (I'm an English major so the UK is looking optimal) and stressing about how I can afford it. I'm doing a short 10 day trip to France this summer on a program, and then I will make a final decision about a whole semester. But this makes me feel so much better about deciding to study abroad!
How much spending money do you recommend saving for a summer study abroad program in France? It'd be like 6 weeks long, and a homestay is strongly recommended so some meals are covered in tuition if you stay with a family the whole time.
I’m going to ASU online and I’m really thinking of doing study abroad next year. I’m looking into a year program where I can work and travel of course. I would want It to be affordable and have transfer credits.
Congrats on continuing your degree through all this craziness. Fingers crossed study abroad will be back in full swing by next year (It's slowly coming back but so modified, it may not be worth the cost at the moment).
I’m currently preparing to study abroad for 5 years and I’m more worried about the culture shock and the homesickness. Also I’m only 19 and I’ve never spent a substantial amount of time away from my parents or on my own in general. Do you have any tips for living on your own for the first time?
I really hope I have the opportunity to study abroad someday! I am only about to start high school, but I've been looking at study abroad programs like ASSE for high school students as opposed to college students. If I were to apply would you recommend a whole school year for someone in 10th or 11th grade or do you think from personal experience that a whole year would be too long for someone that young?
Hey guys, do you know any organization(s) that can help with loans to study a Masters program abroad as an international student (from Africa)? Would appreciate your feedback 👶
How did you like Barcelona? I'm considering studying there in the Spring(2018) I'm on the fence about the big city area but I'm also really interested in the location and learning Spanish!
+Elizabeth Hickson Azocar i hope you will have a good time:) if u travel in europe you will understand that there are much better countries to study than spain;p dont complain cause i warned you;p
i’m 12, why am i already planning out my whole life like i already planned that i’m gonna work really hard in school so i can get good grades and get a stable job so i can study abroad for University. Like....?
thats actually really good. dont be like me, im 17 and already 6 months away from university exams yet i still dont know where to go or what to do yet...
Not true, I tried to study abroad for almost 10 years in college and high school. I can't afford tuition, so I apply for scholarships. I never won any scholarship. I had an opportunity to work abroad at a animation studio in Japan last year, but didn't raise enough money. I just graduated from school and study abroad is out the window. No, study abroad is not affordable.
lol
I was literally in the middle of looking up flights to europe because I have crazy study abroad nostalgia
Kat Badly I'm booking my flight to France for a month study abroad.
Me too!
And I'm still in high school lol
U described my life 🤣 well guess what there were no chances of me going to France I manifested it and now I am in France 🇫🇷😎 I hope this can help u
Random: but you are literally GLOWING. You are so beautiful :*

JaejoongPrincess you know tuition is a lot cheaper than the us in most European countries? Plus the cost of living is a lot lower
