      So true, man. Almost always. Not to mention the client is more than likely ready to be done with the situation too. Tension everywhere. It’s definitely better to charge right through it like you’re on a mission… because you are. 😉 Thanks again, brother. I hope you have an awesome week! 👊👊👊💪💪💪

    I agree. I’m anti litigation. Write it up correct and it will pay out. It’s not about the money it’s about helping the client. I’m a PA and it’s the only way I work.

    We have been fighting with State Farm since April of 2021...Our roof has wind/hail damage and they originally wanted to do repairs on our already 21 yr old roof....so we did a repair and it didn't work out well. Now we have them approving the East side and they say to reuse shingles to repair the West side...They are adamant that repairs can be done but the age of the roof is the issue..but if not for the original wind damage we would need to do anything. So frustrating...our next step is a formal complaint with Utah's Dept of Insurance.

    Chad thanks for another great video, and for the shout-out! I work with contractors to get repairs paid for. Our goal is always a thorough estimate, in a timely manner, with as little post-build supplementing as possible. We want it all on the front end. I think a lot of PAs work with attorneys and maybe for larger claims or in certain regions (I am one of only a handful of PAs in my suburban/rural area) maybe that is needed. The scope of my advocacy for a policyholder comes down to a lot of the same things you talk about and have been talking about! The only difference is the policy and coverage stuff. I’d be lying if I said that policy and coverage don’t matter, but there is a ton of work that can be done from the contractor side of it and I am grateful for you taking the time to share your insights into that part of it, because it is so important. I can’t tell you how many clients have come to me after a contractor blew their claim over things like missing an inspection, failing to document damage, or just flat out lack of persistence. Every insurance restoration contractor can benefit from these lessons and the more that do, the less it is possible for contractors’ work to be systemically devalued the way it WOULD be if we all just took the carriers’ word for it. Keep up your yeomen’s work - we are all grateful!

    Hey Chad! I just came across your channel earlier this week, and man do I wish I had this a couple years ago when I first started in the estimating business. I did think of one thing that has been more of a struggle recently, and I’m not sure if you have too much experience with it, especially with it being more predominant lately. But some of the major insurance carriers ( Liberty Mutual/Safeco) have switched to Symbility for their estimating software. The company I work for, and many other GCs use XM8 as you are well aware. I was wondering if you could make a video that specifically directs on how to combat with the crazy lowball pricing that Symbility offers, and make it a point to use the XM8 pricing. If you’ve already touch on that in a previous video, please point me in that direction. Thank you!

      Thanks so much for watching and for the awesome comment, my friend. And yes! I do have something on that and I believe you’ll get a lot of value from it. I often talk about Symbility vs Xactimate. Definitely a challenge. But as you’ll see in this video it can be an advantage too. Here you go: What's Wrong With This Insurance Estimate? 10 | Xactimate From Symbility. ua-cam.com/video/DlPO4bB2ZTk/v-deo.html

    How do you feel about changing the labor code from DMO to RFG for roofing or DMO to SDG?

    Question. If a homeowner has signed with a contractor to replace a roof and after fighting with the insurance company for 10 months to get them to approve replacing the roof, can the insurance company just take upon themselves to have another roofing company to provide them with a bid and then use their bid as the amount they will pay to replace the roof if it comes in lower than your contractor's bid? That is exactly what the insurance company claims manager did. He said he thought the bid from our contractor was high. He submitted his bid using Xactimate. The claims manager had another roofing company provide him with a bid for what they would charge. Their bid was lower so he based the amount they will pay from their bid. He said if our contractor does not want to do it for that price then this roofing company, he got a bid from will. Is that even legal for an insurance company to do that? He said he is just getting competitive estimates. We have a signed contract already which we signed 10 months ago and knows that.

    Chad, Why cant a storm restoration contractor working an insurance claim for a homeowner put in the agreement, paid upon completion and let the homeowner collect the depreciation from the insurance company. I would really be grateful if you could answer this question for me Thanks!

    How do we find contractors like you to work with in our area?

  • @stewartcreekmore4329

    When you say sign them up are you talking about a contingency or contract? The reason i ask is because from what ive gathered a contract isnt valid unless it has an actual number, the roof costs x amount. If thats the case how would you have a number before the adjuster meeting?

    • @InsuranceRestorationTraining
      @InsuranceRestorationTraining  2 роки тому +1

      I’ve also heard that too. However, I’m coming up on 25 years in the industry and I’ve enforced plenty of contracts. Many people will say that it has to have a specific amount to be valid… but that’s for retail cash jobs, not insurance jobs. If you can’t have a contract without an actual number, that would mean that Servpro and Belfor would be out of business. And they’re the biggest insurance restoration organizations in the world. And again, these statements don’t matter at all to me because I’ve used my own version for over 20 years. I’ve made a lot of money. And no one once has ever stopped me. I’ve worked for attorneys, police officers and more. In multiple states across the country, including Florida and California. Take it for what it’s worth.
      You’ve been asking this question a couple of times now a couple of different ways. You know I have the contract in my course, along with a ton of other firepower. I know you haven’t signed up yet and you asked me if I would be a mentor. But the course has me talking for over 30 hours. I have a lot going on. I have a ten town tour coming up and I am adding to my course. I will try to help where I can… like with messages like this, but when it comes to one on one training or mentorship like you’re asking about, you can hire me to train you. There is a form on the site you can fill out for that. But the course… the contract is in the course as you know. I’m my opinion, you should sign up. You’re going the long route. IESCertified.com
      Anyway, thanks for watching brother and for the comment. Much love to you man. Talk soon. 🙏💖👊😉
