- Recipe here: www.joyofbakin... Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make Peanut Butter Cookies. Americans love peanut butter in their cooking, their candy bars, in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and especially in Peanut Butter Cookies. Of course, that classic crisscross pattern make this cookie instantly recognizable. And that 'sweet and salty' flavor combination make them irresistible. There is even an ongoing debate about whether smooth or crunchy peanut butter make the best cookies. Some say that women and children prefer the smooth type, while men go for crunchy peanut butter.

Thanks for another great recipe. I am a retired professional baker and your recipes always turn out beautifully. I can’t say that about many baking blogs. I’ve followed their recipes and directions and had some trepidations while in the process and sure enough my instincts were correct. “Something’s wrong here” and sure enough, the recipe did not turn out right. Under-baked, did not rise, etc. you should know your own oven is so true. You really know your stuff. I love your site. There are so many wonderful recipes and directions. Thanks again!
I love your comment, thanks for the confirmation that she has the "right stuff".
You've said it. I've got some of the best recipes and tips on Joy's page. Love her sharing the way it needs to be done
I agree wholeheartedly. She has never failed me. Im so grateful I can rely on these recipes to bring happiness and full tummies. Take care.
And the lady is Canadian ❤️🇨🇦
@@mrob997where’s the recipe
she is truly the baking queen. So perfect, the way she explains her stuff---anyone can follow. I am quite fit in the kitchen but she still brings new tips and tricks.
I am obsessed with her baking. She is so pleasant, makes everything seem easy breezy. So much love in her kitchen.
I've always been impressed by the fact that you can say the numbers for everything off the top of your head!! :)
I tried this over the weekend and it was great. It's so yum, I've put it down in my recipe book. I can see myself making this for everyone during Xmas
These peanut butter cookies looks so delicious.I must try this recipe next week and i just love Stephanie when she gave a piece of that cookie to that cute dog. Thanks Stephanie for another great video.Greetings from your fellow Canadian.
Thanks for another delicious recipe. I loved peanut butter cookies growing up. I now make almond butter cookies the same way.
Just subscribed as a Brit really appreciate you measuring in grams and explaining the flour you are using many thanks
I love your technique. I use a potatoe masher that has a grid pattern. It was my mom's old masher I'm glad I kept it. Thanks Stephanie I'm gonna try your recipe.
Definitely making these Thankyou
Have been following your channel for years bcos you also share your expert advice so that viewers can ensure it turns out well when we try it personally - thats the purpose of watching a baking or cooking channel. Your are precise, unlike some channels that say 'one stick of butter' - we don't have butter in a stick in our country.
Mine either I am never sure what a stick of butter is
Thanks stephanie...will be making these today! ❤️ YUM
So glad you stated that these freeze well. Family of four only half of us love these. Thanks for another great video !
Thank you for touching on stabilizer vs. no stabilizer peanut butter. So often recipes calling for peanut butter leave me guessing, since I tend to keep the “natural” stuff in the house. These are a classic, in any case. :)
Hey Stephanie....that is EXACTLY how I like my cookies too, ie slightly crunchy on outside, soft on inside. That seems to please everyone! Thanks for sharing!
I will try this recipe on this weekend 😊
My momma made these every Christmas with all the other wonderful sweet treats she prepared. Thank you so much for sharing this dear one.
MommaFaye 🌺
Great. Will planned for the weekend
I’ve been wanting to make peanut butter cookies lately! And I always love the little clips of Baxter you guys put into your videos! He’s so adorable! 😻
Thank you so much for sharing🤗
First time making cookies and i am obsessed, thank you so much!
Thanks for uploading ma'am,I will give it a try as I always do with your recipes.
Hi. I love your videos. Just watched the peanut cookies . The reason for the crisscross on the cookies is for people with nut allergy to recognize them to have nuts in them .
You're so thorough and concise. I appreciate that. I'll give these a try as well. Thanks for sharing your talent.
These are delicious! They are tender, crisp, with just the right amount of sweetness and peanut butter flavour. My biggest fear when making peanut butter cookies is that they will turn out dry; however, that is not the case with these! Yet another great recipe from your channel! 🥰
Perfection itself..love peanut butter😄..pup was patiently waiting to help sample👍👍
I just love peanut butter cookies.... and I’ve been dying for them lately! I’ll have to break down and do it now! 😉😍
Hi,u are amazing and I love your recipes
Love Peannut butter and also the cookies. 😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤😉Your cookies are perfect and yummy.
Bravissima Stephanie 👏👏👏👏👏👏💋😍
I've recently started weighing all my ingredients and I thank you for giving me the "grams" conversion!
Superb. I'm going to try this for sure.
Loved your dog ❤️
It’s hard to find good PB cookie recipes! Many don’t have enough fat &/or PB in them. This recipe is very much like the one I discovered years ago & make every holiday season. It’s my fave cookie. Perhaps I shall try this recipe too! (In case anyone is wondering: the smooth Natural PB makes a heavenly cookie!) Thank you for another wonderful recipe Ms. Stephanie!
These are my favourite peanut butter cookies. Thankyou.
yas! craving some soft cookies rn! could you also make a chewy bagel recipe?
This is exactly the recipe my Mom and Gr-Mom taught me....even the use of a glass to define the size of the cookie....I haven't baked these in some time - your demonstration has encouraged me to give them a try once more....I use creamy Jiffy peanut butter - it's just my preference. And of course, I always serve these with milk for the kids or coffee for us grown-ups....I like the way you demonstrate, with the exact details....some people forget to include the ingredient's amount....or how the finished product should taste....Good work.
So cute with her doggo wanting a cookie :)
Love your tutorials ❤️ cute pup watching you bake 🐶🐾🐾💕
You explain how to bake so well and clear. Thant you
Thank you for these delicious cookies. ❤
How I love your cooking. Could you make cookies for diabetics? Thank you!
Yummy recipe 😋
Nice
Stephanie I ❤❤❤💕💕 peanut butter cookies i will be making this recipe this weekend 😄😄👌👌
During winter I enjoy making soft and chewy peanut butter cookie dough. But I like to bake them as a big cookie in my 12" cast iron skillet.
Now I have enough small skillets to make smaller skillet cookies. Each cookie gets perfectly crispy outside with the chewy center.
My dog loves peanut butter cookie day. Looks like your dog Baxter also enjoys homemade peanut butter cookies.
This is exactly the way I like my peanut butter cookies! Thanks!

Thank you can't wait to make these for my kids
I made a batch of these yesterday and everyone loved them and ate them ALL. I think the recipe is so easy I am making another batch today but this time a bit smaller in size (hoping they may last longer :-)) This will be one of my "go to" biscuit recipes from now on. Thanks for sharing it!
A video on how to recreate the giant Levain Bakery chocolate chip cookie would be terrific, but right now my mouth is watering for one of these yummy peanut butter cookies!💙
It would be nice to get a copy of Levain chocolate chip cookies
Thanks for one more yummy recipe will try this .
Thanks. For Share The Recipe.
I Love Peanut butter Cookies.
🤩🤩🤩
Thank you for sharing another great recipe .
Thanks Stephanie! I’ve always had success with your recipes, long before you started the videos. ....but I do love the videos, you always make me smile! 💗
Just made these - an absolute hit! Not sure they’ll last til tomorrow with the kids in my house! I weighed each one at 20g, making a perfect three bite size cookie, and sprinkled a few sesame seeds on a few of them. Yum and yum! Thanks again.
So, just as an fyi - they’re gone! And I’ve been asked to make more!
Luv u stephanie for ur lovely recipes🥰
I love anything peanut butter and I love peanut butter cookies 😍😍 these are fantastic. Stephanie can you show us how to make Reese’s Peanut Butter cups one day please ? 🙏🏼

Thank you very much for this recipe Stephanie!
These cookies must be delicious!😋
And by the way, it’s nice to see Baxter enjoying your baking 😍
My. Family. Love these. Peanut butter cookies.
Love you Joyof baking
Can you make videos Everyday
Just made a batch of your Peanut Butter cookies .They turned out really nice and taste yummy😋🇨🇦
Brilliant idea to use the glass to size the uncooked dough. Quite often biscuit dough is soft and messy to work with so the idea of using a glass to flatten the dough balls is really a great idea. Not sure I would add the sugar at the end though but I think I will give them a go.. 💐💐
So perfect, thanks Stephanie will probably be doing some this weekend. 👍👏👌💕❤
I have followed you for yrs and I just Love Love you! You are my go to person 😍
Nice cookie recipe
Great tutorial lots of good ideas.
I love this recipe
Wow.. My Favorite Cookies.
Yummy 😋 thank u Steph gonna try this soon 🙏🏿❤️👍😋 more cookies to bake👌
Definitely will try this. Thank you Stephanie! Cute dog😀
These looks so picture perfect ! *.*
Perfection!!!
Came out amazing!
I always sift the baking soda through a tea strainer to make sure there are no lumps. AND peanut butter cookies are THE best with a glass of cold milk!!
Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi can I store the dough altogether in one box instead of make them in a shape and keep it in a freezer for later baking.
Yes you could freeze the dough.
My husband's favorite cookies ❤❤ great recipe
Orange chiffon was a huge, huge! hit! Yum.
I like your style!
Nice cookies will make 1/2 the qty always wanted to make pnutbuttr cookies can I omit the egg coz some of my veg neighbours like eggless cookies
I always omit the egg whenever i can and use chia gel I make with chia seeds instead. I mix about 1 teaspoon chia seeds in with 6 teaspoons water; stir and let it sit for 10 minutes or so. It is a great binder and far better for you than eggs are. That is for sure.
These taste great..I reduced the 200g sugar (100g white/100g brown) to 120g (60g/60g) and they were perfect. Waaaay to sweet for me if using 200g. Thanks :)
i'm gonna bake cookies tomorrow !!! thank you :)
We just got a new stove and the first thing I baked was peanut butter stuffed cookies. My husband was very happy.
Made these this weekend with homemade peanut butter, adding chopped chocolate and peanuts. They were a hit among my family but were more fragile than I'd thought and a few of them had become crumbs before they reached my grandma's. So if you want to make these and travel, put them into a Tupperware container and carry it carefully in your hand instead of using a Ziplock bag.
Soo delicious yummy 😋
Those look delicious I’m going to try a little something different because of the diabetes.. I’ll have to let you know how it turns out..😋..Also the glass trick works with well with snickerdoodles.. I add a little flour in the sugar mix.. got to watch that blood sugar😋😋..
Just finished making them and they are delicious!!! Could you show us more cake recipes soon? (White/yellow cake) ❤️
Hi Stephanie! Can you please add in your recipes few keto cakes and biscuits etc.. using almond and coconut flour.
Thanks in advance
Thank you so much! Finally a sensible peanut butter cookie recipe. No ingredients that require a special trip to the grocery. I just love your channel Stephanie.⚜️
Your recipes are amazing ❤ keep uploading more , loved your raisen shortbread
I will try this recipe today. Question: is it ok to use margerine instead of butter?
Why not use coconut oil instead? Margarine is SO unhealthful. It is two molecules away from plastic.
Always delicious!! 👏👏👏😋😋😋
Thank you so much for sharing. May I ask is the temperature the same if I am using a convection oven? Thank you.
It depends on your oven. Newer ovens don’t require a correction and older ones do. Check your oven’s manual to see if a correction is required.
Yumm, I am so happy I discovered your channel, my husband and children are ecstatic, because they are reaping all the goodies. Thank you so much
These are my second favorite cookie (snickerdoodles first). Could I use almond butter instead? I love the traditional version but I am wondering if any nut butter would work.
I've made cookies with almond butter (it was a different recipe from this one) and it works. I prefer peanut butter, myself, because I think it has more flavor. Accordingly, when I made the almond butter cookies I added chocolate chips.
Wayne S yeah I figured I could and I found a recipe which was similar to this but the amount of flour was more. I think what I’m going to also do instead of vanilla extract is use almond extract(or maybe half and half) and I’m definitely adding chopped raw almonds. Thanks for the feedback. Chocolate chips sound good.
Thanks you😘
I made some peanut butter cookies but found it very difficult to do the Criss-Cross pattern with my Fork the batter was kind of loose if putting it in the refrigerator for a while will that allow me to do the Criss-Cross pattern easier does anyone know??? Than you
I absolutely love your pot stand in the background. Is it made for the pots or is like a plant stand?
It is a pot stand. It is made by Enclume.
Hi. Thank you for your recipe! Do you suggest that people could add some chocolate powder to this recipe? To do so, do we need to reduce the amount of flour? Thanks!
I've never tried it, but you could add some unsweetened cocoa powder. Just reduce the flour by an equal amount.
