Ok. I put SUGAR in the brine YES. But some of you maybe think I drink the brine?
The sugar just neutralizes the sour taste of the vinegar. It won't GET IN and SUCK into the watermelon 😂
Why are people so worried about the SUGAR 😅
I'm sorry but.... 🤷♀️ DO YOU DRINK THE BRINE?
If I'm wrong, I'm sorry 😞
I have made this recipe for years, except I do not use the salt and substitute crushed red pepper flakes for the chile flakes. I let it stew in the fridge for a few days before using. Those little baby watermelons you can buy are just the right amount to make a couple of nice sized jar fulls.
So refreshing recipe! Thanks for sharing!
Oh my paboritong pakwan sarap lantakan at gawing juice thanks for sharing this 💖

My mom made this after I sent her the recipe. This would be great for summer!
Wow favorite ko mga pickled pwede din pla watermelon..sarap
Looks good, but I'll omit the chilis when i make it.
I haven’t tried this recipe but on my own when I would buy an unsweet melon or watermelon from the market you know one that’s ripe just not sweet I would cut it up & pickle all the flesh of the watermelon & it absorbs so quickly like a sponge I can’t wait to try this recipe among some others I’ve seen on youtube.
That's a good idea too. I'll try that 😊
Not sure what you mean "ripe not sweet" but hope it was delicious
Ooohhh pwede pala Yun.... wanna try this soon
Very good

Super tamis 😋🥰
uy parang ang sarap neto. di pa ko nakakatikim. gayahin ko nga
How lonng will this keep in the fridge ?
About a week ☺️
Wow creative gusto ko ren yan sarap ng pakwan
I think you can do these in a vinegar way as not refrigerator pickled. Like the way you make apple cider vinegar. I hope I am correct?
Yes, you do that too. It will not spoil if you use pure vinegar, even without refrigeration. But maybe it would be too Sauer then?
@@inmypyjamas You and water bath this too for longer shelf life.
Hala pwede pala to? I wanna try!
Wow😃😃
wow i enjoyed watching thank you for sharing stay safe po,
Likewise, thanks 😊
Very nice☺️
Grabe sa pagka crunchy 😄 patikim nyan ha

Taob talaga pag ganyan 😂
I make my watermelon preserve right side up horizontal..
I made this and the only complaint I got was it was to sweet. I will use less sugar next time.
Yes, you can adjust the sweetness to your taste 😊
Sarap Nyan hehe salamat po sa idea ,magawa ngayon sobrang hot 🔥 keep safe po
Refreshing 😊
Pwd pala ma pickle ang watermelon. Ma try nga
Do you not have to boil the brine? I will have to try this recipe, thanks for sharing!
I used filtered water so I didn't boiled it. Maybe it's better to boil it if you want to store it longer.
If you boil water make sure to completely cool it down otherwise you will lose the crunch.
might want to use a little less salt ,,or try less then add more if you wanted too,, good video
First time i see this recipe
Hindi ko alam pwede pala ganyan sa melon ma I try ko nga eto soon.
Masarap sis... Tinatapon lang natin yung balat sayang.
Also i boil my liquid before i add it to the rinds, just till it comes to roll then off stove, LET IT COOL before adding liquid to rinds
Water melons are sweet already, our health ?😊
nice
Traduzione in italiano della ricetta?grazie ❤
Is this a drink? Or what do you use this for?
Snack

What it tastes like
It's like pickled cucumber but with a little bit of sweetness ☺️ and tastes much better 👍
For what is this used ?
You can eat it as snack or as a side dish
Why not peel it before slicing into smaller chunks?
Absolutely agree
Thanks for the tip 😊
I have a better grip if they're in chunks. I have weak fingers.
I love your it. I will follow the recipe you have giving. Thanks for sharing !
Watermelon syrup?
I didn't know watermelons could be done like this too.. how many weeks can it be stored?
I stored mine in the fridge and ate it after three months, and it was good. It was still crunchy, and the seasonings soaked in.
I going to ask the same question ❤so you read my mind❤
Whats the purpose of preserving it sissy, mas masarap ba sya pag pickled and preserved? Sorry havent tried it yet kc hahaha
Parang pickled papaya yan sya sis masarap pag nababad. Yung white part lang ang i pickle. Kesa itapon makakain pa.
That looked a lot more than one cup each?
Yeah, about 1 1/2 cup each.
What is the benefits of eating that ? Why putting a ton of sugar ans salt in it?
Why people eat chocolate or fatty burgers? What is the benefit of that? .....Exactly....
As always people can ADJUST the sugar or salt on their taste. Try the recipe and taste it for yourself... You'll know why ☺️
What’s their shelf life ?
I had leftover and I put in the fridge. I ate it 3 months later and it was still good. Just make sure to sterilize the jars 😉😊
Şarap naman nito

I normally wait a week or two,
where the hell can i find a watermelon like that??
Any watermelon that has thick rind will do 😊
Id rather have the liquid boiled. And i use pickeling spice. I sit them in closet or pantry for couple days, just say three yo be sure. .
Nice idea I'll do that this summer 😊
What kind of jars were those?
Those were jars from sausage and from a lady's choice mayonnaise
I love the shapes of them.ill have to look for some
Yeah I have many of those.... I think it's cute 😊
and I just threw the butter chicken sauce jars in the recycling bin after thinking bout using it for drinking glass..
Oh, it's a pity
But it is the worst part of watermelon to picle!
No chili flakes
Your knife skills make me nervous.
Noooo. You forgot the lime…….to make them stay crispy !
I'll try that next time. But after a week, it was still crispy without lime 😁😊
You're not simply chris some pictures is the friend of ctop😵😕⁉️
@Barabas-mi6cx ctop? I don't understand what you mean 🤷♀️
To clarify, my name is Christine, and I named my channel simply chris.
@@Barabas-mi6cx I just searched it... ok, it's time to change my channels name ✌️
That cant possibly be one cup. That looks like a whole small pot
It is 1 cup 😊
Sometimes it looks different with the camera.
Lost me when you put all that sugar in there. Yikes
Just skip the sugar if you don't want it. Or adjust as you like it 😊
@simplychris8393 ill do that. Thank you
Absolutely! Lacto-fermentation, without sugar is a healthy for the body.
@@noteplucker Back in the day I was unaware how much sugar in my foods. Today I will tell that myself too. 😅
Today, I'm a "unhealthy" sugar free person (I only use raw honey and mapel syrup) 😊
WOW - knife skills need some work.
Did you watch this video to see how to make the recipe or to see and and tell her about her skills 🤨
Don't need to take it seriously 😀😅🙂
It's not how to cut the watermelon. It's about how to cut the watermelon while filming 😅 sometimes it is hard where or how to position your hands while filming to be able to show it on the camera.
@@inmypyjamas Why are you showing cutting the watermelon if it's not about cutting the watermelon? Aren't completion of the steps in the process the reason for the video? If not, just show us diced rind and say "Do this". Safety should be #1. some of the knife technique is risky and just asking for someone to be cut. Sharp knives make all cutting tasks safer.
My point is... It is hard to show cutting a big watermelon in front of the camera while you have a tiny space to position the tripod. Try to put a camera in front of your face then cut a watermelon trying not to block the camera with your hands. Or put a camera on the same working space you are cutting and try not to make a shacky recording. And did you know that I have a problem with my fingers where I can't even open a bottle of water or even squeeze a lemon? Or that my fingers get stiff and I can't make a fist? Sometimes people just judge but don't know what really happens behind the scene.
You can use white vinegar also, or literally any vinegar, slices of pepper and red pepper flakes
You scare me with that knife breaking all knife laws😂
My mother used to tell me that. 😅
No worries, I'm using a knife since I was 5 years old. Yes, I have cooked since then, and nothing bad happened 😅
So you didn’t heat any of the brine? Interesting, never seen anyone do this before.. 👍🏾🫡💯
Nope, but I used filtered water ☺️
Grabe naman ang sarap naman Pwede Pala yu.
