Great job you guys! Justin, you mentioned in your video that you weren't able to fully drill into the existing slab for one of the footings. How did you work around this with your hammer drill? Also, for those interested in building your design what would your estimated cost of materials be?
No permits! At least not where we live. PT works great too, just have to stain it to get that cedar color. We had to travel to a small town in TN to get all the cedar
THAT'S A BADASS PERGOLA! YOU COULD build another floor on top of it! Cedars is expensive. I'm just using pressure treated limber and staining it with cedar stain......
Who is ready to take on a DIY build like this!? Comment YES below!
Think that concrete needs sorting out first guys
Too much rapters - distraction
I built a pergola very similar to that a few years back! It took me a lot longer than a weekend though.
If Ted wasn’t in charge, it’d have taken us a month 😅
your adlibs are hilarious

Ted had a back up drill that finished it out!
For material alone it was about 3500-4000
@@justinandjessdiy thanks for the info! Looking forward to the next project!
You definitely can't go wrong with cedar. It's a little pricey but worth every penny. 👍🏻
You got that right
What size were your rafters? 2x6?
Do you have a link for the base (concrete to cedar) attachments?
Any cracking in the slab due to the stress concentration in the corners?
Great question, none that we have noticed so far
No permits required? I want one just like it. Went shopping to get an idea of the total cost but only saw PT wood.

Thanks for choosing our Hardware system to build, hope you guys like and enjoy.
Link for hardware? Would like to buy
HAHAHAHAH JOE BIDEN!!

cracks me up how you say PERGOLA. In Aus we say PER...... GOLA as in PER...GOALA.. like a goal in football.
That’s so funny! The “Pergoala” pronunciation cracks us up! 🤣
this is when I’m doing projects like this I got several drills lined up so I don’t overuse one
This video should of got a million views 😔
Lmaooo i laugh every time y’all edited the raptors in when he said rafter
I hoped someone would!
@@justinandjessdiywhere did you get the hardware from?
@@Ahalbina Yes, Ozco is the manufacture. It's on amazon, and got some at menards
@@justinandjessdiy thank you
Hi. With the cedar, did you stain the cedar and what did you use? How often do you have to re-stain?
no stain, just a poly seal
Great sharing.
Get rid of the inserts!
Can I get a price list? Wanting to do a bit smaller of one but I don’t have a high budget
Just depends on where you are and your lumber yard. We got quotes from 4 places ranging from 2k to almost 6k for the material
12:33 fireflies
I'm jealous I had to have my post 36" in the ground.
Yea gotta get below that frost line!
Love it! Looks great!
Thank you!!
thats why cordless drills are worthless. corded would have smoked that slab...
Ted went out and bought a corded one immediately afterwards 😂
This video is hilarious yet informative
That's the goal!
