Looking for easy modifications is completely different from looking for modifications for maximum power. This intake was designed with power in mind. It may take a few more minutes to install, but the end result is worth it, plus everything needed is included in the kit.
Will the maf sensor harness reach the new position? And also has the maf sensor couple have issues with cracking? I've see videos of this happening. I like this intake but I dont want to have to buy a new maf coupler every time the rubber starts cracking
Are you familiar with the configuration of the 2006-2011 Civic Si? Because of the design of the vehicle these "modifications" had to be done for us to provide large diameter piping and optimum routing for power gains. Do you want horsepower or just intake noise? The Skunk2 system is designed to help you make power. We've received huge amounts of feedback about how complete the kit is and how it really isn't very tough to install.
It may be more work than other intakes but OMG its worth it!!!! Skunk2 is amazing!!! This intake is crazy. I just installed it to my 07 Si sedan today. Added a hydro shield to the filter to protect it in a rainy day. Once you hit VTEC the sound is intoxicating!!!
I just put the kit in today, The ECU was a total pain to mount to their breacket, but it got it. Theres no way your gonna get all three of the battery bracket bolts without a lift. Also the filter hangs down lower than what they say on their site. everything else went pretty smooth though. It would have been nice if they included one more house to you didnt have to leave the stock metal hose It looks kinda bad just sitting there with 2 open ends. Other wise great kit. PWJDM fit better though
The shot of the reservoir BEING installed is how we designed the kit, the car had to be delivered back to the owner before we could shoot the dyno session. To finish the video, the car with the kevlar cover was shot on the dyno, that vehicle had a competitors intake on it when it arrived. The customer ditched it for ours. He had already relocated his battery and reservoir to use the OTHER intake. The location we place the reservoir is fine, you can still move it if you like, your choice...
I have a 2011 Civic Si. I just bought the Skunk2® - Alpha Series™ Swap Stainless Steel Race Headers, Skunk2® 413-05-6030 - MegaPower RR™ Exhaust System, Skunk2® 343-05-0100 - Cold Air Intake, and Skunk2® 519-05-1580 - Lowering Spring Kit. Will that be a pretty good start? Do you get decal stickers with the items when I receive them? Were should I go from here?
lol you guys make it look so easy, my car is still stuck on jackstands because the way you designed your radiator hose itll hit the shifter cables and i cant shift so now i gotta do some weird stuff w zipties to hold it out of the way
How often do you have to access your coolant reservoir? If that is your concern, just extend the overflow tank hose and put is in a place you like, easy! The hose is really inexpensive and available at all parts stores.
Serious buyer with some questions about this intake: 1. Did this video show EVERY single step of the installation or will there be tiny things here and there that is not shown. What I'm not too wanting to do is a. Play with the electric tape/grounding wires. 2. I have a flashpro, If I was to remove the MAF sensor then how would I delete it? Is it easy or do I have to unravel the electric tape 3. How does this intake VS. Rick Spec Intensity Coldair/short ram in POWER WIES. Thank you
I just ordered this for my car and am super excited but got a question. 3:15 shows mock up line ups with new battery tray, I've never drilled anything before. What size drill is being used ?
The '06-'11 Civic Si has a very compact engine bay and our goal was to make an efficient intake system for the vehicle for optimum power... tough to do with limited space. We've included everything you need in the kit to make it as easy as possible.
It's not. There are just a few things that get relocated. The goal is to maximize power. We've included everything you need in the kit to make it easy.
hey man i got my skunk2 cai when it first came out and it never turned the check engine light on might want to go back im sure you might of missed something vac hose would be my first guess GL
I noticed that during the "how to portion" that the coolant reservoir is mounted below the battery... However in the "dyno portion" the reservoir is back up by the radiator an the battery is not in sight.. More than likely relocated.. Did u have issues with the reservoir mounted so low?? I am a mechanic and also an owner of a 2010 Si and am Interested in your product but this concerns me.. Am I better off planning on relocating my battery and keeping the reservoir up top??
@skunk2dotcom I have a few question. Is normal to turn the check engine after installing the skunk2 intake? And how I can remove it? I have civic si 2008 Please answer Thanks.
Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.
but the question or concern is not how hard it is to access to it but that it doesnt seem to be in a proper location or level ,,, does it still serve its purpose well ?? im curious to know as well. thanks
Get your bread up. Why do this to not even get major gains without a flash pro. You're wasting your time adding 5hp when you need to go find a new job. :/
Congrats you just made the overflow reservoir pretty much inaccessible, good job. Why not relocate the battery down low by the subframe to get that giant weight lower on the front of the car.
1 Spectre Performance ABS Chrome 3 inch diameter Vacuum Adapter, 1 SP 3 in diameter 4 inch Chrome ABS tube, 1 SP 6.125 inch Cone Filter, 2 SP 3 inch Silicone Intake Couplers (with worm clamps). Sandwich it like throttle body - coupler - vacuum adapter - coupler - 4 inch tube - cone filter. If you need a MAF adapter then add 1 Spectre Performance 3 inch diameter MAF Adapter and 1 SP silicone coupler. Off the Oreillys shelf 1 Filter is $24, 2 Couplers are $20 bucks ($10 each, both include 2 clamps a piece), Vacuum adapter is $14. Thats around $60 to $70 dollars for a basic intake. The MAF Adapter is $15 and another coupler is another $10 so $80 to $90 for the more complex variant. Its an incredibly durable set up, but I will say it doesnt look the best. Sounds great, go from there if you want to flash to take full advantage.
Skunk2Racing Hey guys... I would really really love to buy this intake, but living in Cali...it seems a bit much of work to uninstall it to pass smog. I could be wrong. Is it carb legal yet or any plans to make it so? I hope...maybe
Thinking of getting this intake on my FA5 over the rick intensity but question Skunk2...so to utilize the map coupler , do u put the IAT sensor in one of the barbs on the upper intake pipe and put a breather filter on the valve cover, then splice the two wires coming from the IAT sensor to the MAF sensor correct?? And i have the J35 Throttle body, does the coupler for TB fit for this throttle body?? If i dont want to utilize the MAp coupler and still run map tune what are the problems ill have
what kind of maintenance is needed in this air system?? i bought 1 year ago a honda civis si 09 and i was wondering if i have to do some maintenance?? any filter or something like that??
Not Replace the Air Filter, but clean the filter element. You can use the K&N Filter charger/cleaner. Also, keep the plastic hoses happy by cleaning them with tire dressing. It helps keep the plastic conditioned under the heat under the hood.
Wrong, we simply didn't have enough time to shoot the car on the dyno before having to deliver it to the customer. Had nothing to do with "making the video sound good", they both have the same intake, lol!
Hey i just wanted to let everyone know that if you plan on doing this yourself its going to be a pain in the ass. I got this for christmas and put it on yesterday, and this video is not showing how much a pain in the ass it is! haha its a great product don't get me wrong, but this video makes it look way too easy putting it on. Great product though and sounds great! But it is a pain doing it all by yourself!
Honestly I don’t mind to relocate the battery and the other electronics but putting the coolant reservoir tank in a such lower position level than the factory one it’s don’t seems right to me!! In my opinion Coolant reservoir must be at the same height as the radiator cap …
Skunk2Racing I live in Cali...and I really really would love to purchase this intake but it is not smog legal. I don't know anyone who has installed this inake but it seems a bit much of work to uninstall to pass smog. Any plans to make it carb legal please? I hope
Much Cringe on drilling into the unirail for this. I know it won’t effect the structural integrity of the car BUT I just can’t justify doing it when there are kits out there that don’t require it. That being said good video!
I installed that intake in my car , but the check engine light came on. The middle part of the intake is too soft, the sensor doesn't stay put .can someone help me out please
All these people crying about the install did it today in a few hours with basic tools no lift or jack or anything fancy fairy easy job just take your time car feels great much better than my SRI
Cody Gamez yeah I actually had to adjust the bracket a bunch to get it to fit right and not hit my fender liner same with the filter definitely took me some trial and error
Supercharger283, okay I thought I must have done something wrong or missed a step. I have to say if the funnest thing about buying car parts is installing them, don't know why some of these guys want to complain about working on a car. Lol
Looking for easy modifications is completely different from looking for modifications for maximum power. This intake was designed with power in mind. It may take a few more minutes to install, but the end result is worth it, plus everything needed is included in the kit.

Link to the hydro shield?? Please
Hey I have to ask I just got a hydro shield myself, how did it hold up still no water in the intake?
Wow what a great video. Thanks guys. 2022 and still gold.
I just took my battery out and slapped this on and put my battery back. Y’all did the most lmao!
Should’ve made a video, guy
@@nikounderscore I have to repaint my bumper and lip so I’ll make a video taking it out and reinstalling.
Holy mother of complicated
Hell yeah, hardest part is tryin to mount up the battery tray 🤪

come in as a 4 door comes out a 2 door. weight reduction!
lmaoo i dident notice that
hahahahahahaha didn't notes that part
That's mad work for a cai
brooklynnsr5 RIGHT😂😭
Hondas and drum and bass. I love it.
lol what song is this?
If you ever need to re-install the stock intake, do u have to also re-install the original ECU and battery locations?
I have a 2011 Civic Si. I just bought the Skunk2® - Alpha Series™ Swap Stainless Steel Race Headers, Skunk2® 413-05-6030 - MegaPower RR™ Exhaust System, Skunk2® 343-05-0100 - Cold Air Intake, and Skunk2® 519-05-1580 - Lowering Spring Kit. Will that be a pretty good start? Do you get decal stickers with the items when I receive them? Were should I go from here?
so you guys installed the intake on an fa5 and in the end it turns into an fg2? how did u do that?
Very nice. Mine will be arriving today, I can't wait to install that and everything else that's waiting.
lol you guys make it look so easy, my car is still stuck on jackstands because the way you designed your radiator hose itll hit the shifter cables and i cant shift so now i gotta do some weird stuff w zipties to hold it out of the way
We would recommend reaching out to our technical support. Give us a call!
i got it in so it doesnt hit the shifter cables, it was just a massive pain in the ass lol

It comes with everything you need to install and really isn't very hard to install.
this intake is AWESOME

What do you do about the second air tube that's connected to the intake?
Molded polymer plastic for superior intake air insulation when compared to aluminum as well as for a smooth, continuous taper.
I can't wait to get one of these. Does it come with the Skunk2 radiator hose? And what size drill bit do you need?
Will Stacy comes with

I have a few question.

I have civic si 2008
Please answer
Thanks.

I have a question I got the skunk 2 Intake for my 2015 si the flow has to be upward or downward ?
I dnt own a honda or a car but man, these how to vids from skunk2 are fucking awesome
Any vids for the 2012 civic install? I need a video DIY so that I can understand on how to install it.
but the question or concern is not how hard it is to access to it but that it doesnt seem to be in a proper location or level ,,, does it still serve its purpose well ?? im curious to know as well.
thanks
Will any check engine light come on or need any flash pro for this mod ?? To prevent any lights on dash
looks pretty easy to me. with the right tools
Mean! This is some serious business.
i lost it at "drill hole in chassis"
overly complicated unless its your track day car honestly
Chris Procopio it really was an easy install even with drilling the hole
H1GhVoL7aGe seems like too much work for marginal gains in performance.
Its one of the only intakes that will run without Flashpro so to me who dont wanna drop 600 i didnt mind alittle extra work
Drilling a hole is too complicated? Cripes man... 10 minutes if you stop for a 5 minute coffee break.
Get your bread up. Why do this to not even get major gains without a flash pro. You're wasting your time adding 5hp when you need to go find a new job. :/
I have a Honda civic type r fn2 2007, the hose from the raditor to the engine is rubbing on the gearbox linkage..is there anyway around this???
Do you need to make configurations in the computer with an hondata or it will get configurate by is own?
Congrats you just made the overflow reservoir pretty much inaccessible, good job. Why not relocate the battery down low by the subframe to get that giant weight lower on the front of the car.
What happen if u don’t relocate the ground battery wire? Well this cause idle..

Actually now that I revisited the site, the intake hangs where it shows. The clamp was useless though it just slid right up when i tightened it.
I better see some magic numbers for all that work for an intake..
We'll try to gather some dyno results together and make a blog post.
Skunk2Racing
Hey guys...
I would really really love to buy this intake, but living in Cali...it seems a bit much of work to uninstall it to pass smog. I could be wrong.
Is it carb legal yet or any plans to make it so? I hope...maybe
You only have to drill one hole, it's really easy to do.
Thinking of getting this intake on my FA5 over the rick intensity but question Skunk2...so to utilize the map coupler , do u put the IAT sensor in one of the barbs on the upper intake pipe and put a breather filter on the valve cover, then splice the two wires coming from the IAT sensor to the MAF sensor correct??

what kind of maintenance is needed in this air system?? i bought 1 year ago a honda civis si 09 and i was wondering if i have to do some maintenance?? any filter or something like that??
+Virgilio Hinojosa Change out the filter? lol
+TheDarkshadow301 haha inhave no idea if i have to do something?
Hey skunk2 please make a video for the ex lx and dx r18a1 civic!!
Dude, i bought this car with the cold air intake already installed, could you please tell me if there is any kind of maintenance i should do it?
Clean the filter
replace the air filter
Not Replace the Air Filter, but clean the filter element. You can use the K&N Filter charger/cleaner. Also, keep the plastic hoses happy by cleaning them with tire dressing. It helps keep the plastic conditioned under the heat under the hood.
What are the specs on the filter? im looking to buy a hydroshield sleeve for it, but do not know the size of the filter, base, top, and how tall?
what happens to the intake hoses. there are three in the si, i only see two being replaced?
I have bought a used kit but i dont have the fuse boc locatirnis it possible to instal it with out it ??
OKAY SKUNK2 W THE TRAP BEAT lmao..
Does the front Bumper Bar need to be remove for the install?
Will this be the same for a FN2 Type R
does this Cold Air Intake have to only be for the SI?
clean set up.
Does this also come in a "short ram" version??
Do you guys have one out for the 13' yet?
So do I need to run flash pro after I instal
I want to switch from my Injen sri to this....I cant just imagine what it would sound like pair with my Skunk2 72mm TB and S2 intake manifold.
can you do this on a non si civic ?
What size hydroshield would fit this filter
Wrong, we simply didn't have enough time to shoot the car on the dyno before having to deliver it to the customer. Had nothing to do with "making the video sound good", they both have the same intake, lol!
i did my today follow this video and is not that hard to do it , it will take you some time but is not impossible.
wont it get wet n suck in water facing down like that?
+Josue Arroyo It will suck up water good sir.
Good video! Thanks :D
would it fit 05 rsx?if so how hp are we talking about?
Whats the song name on 2:13
Where can I find a hydro shield that fit this filter pls let me know
Hey i just wanted to let everyone know that if you plan on doing this yourself its going to be a pain in the ass. any for the 2012 civic si coupe?
Honestly I don’t mind to relocate the battery and the other electronics but putting the coolant reservoir tank in a such lower position level than the factory one it’s don’t seems right to me!! In my opinion Coolant reservoir must be at the same height as the radiator cap …
There should be a thread with dyno results versus a competitors intake on 8thCivic.com
Skunk2Racing I live in Cali...and I really really would love to purchase this intake but it is not smog legal. I don't know anyone who has installed this inake but it seems a bit much of work to uninstall to pass smog.
Any plans to make it carb legal please? I hope
I'm cool with my aem full 3inch intake
any dyno numbers?? or test against aem or injen?? @skunk2dotcom
i wanna do this but iam scared the check engine light is gonna come on lol
same
is this carb legal???
Need to put one in a 08 honda accord:)
Do u have fp?
Much Cringe on drilling into the unirail for this. I know it won’t effect the structural integrity of the car BUT I just can’t justify doing it when there are kits out there that don’t require it. That being said good video!
I installed that intake in my car , but the check engine light came on. The middle part of the intake is too soft, the sensor doesn't stay put .can someone help me out please
This looks so gd complicated. Im just gonna have someone put it on for me.
walmartninja it's super easy I could walk you through it
Call us! We aren't allowed enough characters to answer your questions clearly.
my 300zx twinturbo reservoir sits by the wheel
Damn this headache and price is not worth the little gains an intake gives u. And I thought I despised the power chamber install!
it only looks complicated bc they added all the relocation goodies
It went from a 4door si to a coupe lol
Lol i thought I was the only one who caught that too
All these people crying about the install did it today in a few hours with basic tools no lift or jack or anything fancy fairy easy job just take your time car feels great much better than my SRI
Supercharger283, did you have complications putting the bracket to the battery and connecting the air filter?
Cody Gamez yeah I actually had to adjust the bracket a bunch to get it to fit right and not hit my fender liner same with the filter definitely took me some trial and error
Supercharger283, okay I thought I must have done something wrong or missed a step. I have to say if the funnest thing about buying car parts is installing them, don't know why some of these guys want to complain about working on a car. Lol
Hybrid racing take is just better
If this is to complicated for you. Then you do not love your SI enough
No, its just the fact that there are so many intakes out there that dont require all this nonsense
Skunk 2 builds gr8 product but you guy should make product v8 powered cars to
If you reset your computer it wont. But as you're doing the install the computer will get reset anyways
RICER WITH MONEY!!!! NOTICE THE END OF THE VIDEO,, STILL A RICER!!!
this one has a lot of work,, and its ot carb legal..
No it is not.
