- This is my own personal LASERDISC rip of the live performance of Angel in St. Louis at the Checkerdome.
This was recorded on the second night. The 11/5 performance can be found on the second live disc aka disc 5 of the 2015 Deluxe issue of Tusk.
I boosted the audio.

I came to Fleetwood Mac rather late, but so glad I did. I love Stevie so much that I named my puppy Stevie Nicks. When I introduce her to strangers, to a person, they laugh and smile. Everybody loves Stevie!

Wow, now THIS is how I want to remember the chemistry of Buckingham-Nicks ! The way he cuddles up to her and they sing so well together here is magic.
Yes, however she wrote this song about Big Mick when they were having an affair and they were completely in love with each other. Its funny because everyone knows Stevie and Lindsay, however Stevie herself has stated on many occasions that Mick was the true love of her life.

This was the exact CLIMAX of Fleetwood Mac. Everything from this song was in the other direction. Stevie let go here like she has never done before. This is really the best song the group has ever done from the vantage point of stage performance. There will never be another like this.

Oh my goodness, the ballet bit at the end! I didn't know Stevie did ballet and she looks like a pure angel doing it. So so beautiful. What a little treat after seeing the wonderful performance. I love the bit where Lydnsey wraps his arm around her and you can see their joy emanating. I haven't seen much fleetwood mac before the dramas. So this was a real treat
When ever I watch this video I’m always completely in awe of it and when she lets go and just starts dancing which is adorable and then in the end she grabs the microphone and for a half of a second she turns her head to the left and it’s just the sweetest and funniest thing. I giggle every time weather I’m n a happy mood, melancholy mood and sometimes I’m not in a good mood at all but this video always puts me in just a little bit better mood. Thank you for all the great music and great concerts!♥️✌️

She has said in many interviews and on the website inherownwords.com things about Joe Walsh, Mick Fleetwood, and Don Henley so you might want to read these where she is quoted. Much more valuable than people like the London rag that came up with that gossip only to sell papers.

i think Angel carries the spirit of a special phase of fleetwood mac (70s to 80s). i love this happy (but at same time haunted) blues pop song for this elegant bass line, nice keyboards, killer vocals but, especially, i love it for their ability to have done everyting exhaustively produced to seems raw and simple. Angel is a masterpiece, in my modest opinion.

OMG I was 5 years old when this concert took place and by 1981 I was a Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood addict. This is pure magic. No auto tune, no machines just musicians, singer songwriters doing their thing at their best. Hauntingly beautiful. Chemistry like these five is once in a lifetime.

IMHO This is the best live clip of her. She looks so happy. I know there's a lot of conflict info out there about their on-and-off relationship. Some of it true, some maybe not. We don't know. On this night, during this concert, they were a couple in love. The way she looks at him at around 2:50 is the best. She always looked great, never better than on this night. Loved her little "buck-and-wing" dance, in those giant platform shoes.
Lindsay loves her so much here. He suffered big time. Glad he is happily married now.

Best Fleetwood Mac video ever.
This is the happiest I have ever seen her in any video. A lot of critics back then referred to her sulkiness onstage and if not that then at least she wasn't always this into it! If you notice on 1979 Sara (which I love man that contralto) she just walks away at the end of the song and she did that a lot well if she wasn't staggering or falling like in the mid 80's! LOL!

I am from St. Louis, but I have followed Stevie Nick's career because of HER! Her talents, her mysteries, her honesties, but mostly because of the way she is with her audience when she performs. She's the spark, the shiny diamond in that band. Stevie is the one and only. And I am so happy that she has finally been inducted into the Rock Hall on her own merit. 4-21-2019. Easter Sunday.

You're very welcome! I remember having an old copy of a copy x50 of this back in the 90s lol.. I was always so fascinated with this performance. From the minute she appears walking to the mic..at the start her adjusting and then that smile when the crowd starts to cheer.....to the very end. So glad this was documented.

Melanie Kaweck both Lindsey and Stevie have denied he physically abused her. The stuff in Mick’s book was fabricated - even Mick admitted it. I can’t speak for the other girlfriend but as for Carol Ann Harris, I’d take whatever she says with a grain of salt. Her book was awful and she was more coked up than Fleetwood and Stevie combined at that time.
Fact is: drugs were rampant in those days, I’m sure they all got a little aggressive towards each other back in the day. I’m not denying Lindsey did bad things, but let’s not single just one person out here...
On one occasion, Stevie attacked Lindsay when he first wanted to leave just before a tour started. I doubt these types of things are uncommon in the music world. Egos are inflated, times are stressful, so much depends on getting everything right, reputations are hard won and easily lost. The pressure must be huge.
👑 This exact show was my first concert! My uncle was a St. Louis DJ then and got us tix, so my aunt brought me along for my 11th birthday. Amazing grace! RIP Auntie Kathy! 🙏☃️🤍🎸

Jeremy; this is just the most PERFECT Video! I cant stop watching it! The crowd cheering and clapping along is perfect; dosnt drown out the music, but it lifts you up with them! But what amazes me is that this is during their TUSK tour, which did NOT go well, (lots of internal band conflict) and so this is a really rare moment of them really enjoying themselves on stage, and for Lindsey to do this, instead of his usual just glaring at Stevie; well, lucky you, St Louis! I havent seen Stevie enjoy singing like this since the early versions of Rhianon! And I think this is the only clip of her dancing like this on stage! Damn I miss the 70s!

I agree. I watch this video everyday. It is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. I only like this version of the song. I watched the video of Lindsey and Stevie working on this song and that was enjoyable also.
I was at that concert in 79. (Also in 75, 82, 90 and last weekend, 10-20-2018). I remember they were even more amazing than usual in the 79 concert...I've been to see/hear them five times now. I live about 40 miles west of St.Louis...every concert they have here sells out! We love them SO MUCH! Fleetwood Mac Fans are true and loyal in St. Louis! Stevie is the best! She is an amazing singer, songwriter, performer, all around wonderful, caring, giving human being, helping so many in need, through charities! She loves ballet as much as I do and I love her like a sister! God bless Stevie and all of FM, always!

That must have been so depressing to see the Oct 2018 concert with no Lindsey and basically a cover band in play especially since you saw all the great earlier concerts. I’d never pay to see them without Lindsey.

Lindsey was living with Carol Ann Harris at the time. Carol had been shocked when Lindsey chopped all his hair off before the Tusk tour but added makeup to the "look" and styled him in an expensive suit. Things were still strained at the point this concert footage was shot and would get worse as the tour went on. Look up the Tusk tour Australia incident. Lindsey drank before a performance, mocked Stevie as she sung and hurled his guitar at her. After they got off stage Christine McVie confronted Lindsey and hurled a drink in his face and told him not to do that to the Band or Stevie ever again! That's why I love Lindsey and Stevie singing together here. He was happy enough at the time with Carol and could stand for a brief moment in time close to Stevie and to blend his voice with her in a very beautiful and powerful way. Those voices are magic together. Carol Ann Harri's book Storms was a great read!
