@ Michael W And I was thinking that i hope CHRISTINE can keep it together that night. She was in the middle of an extreme emotional breakdown of her own and I dont think she performed after that.
She was going through a divorce herself at the same time with another band mate. It hit close to home for her. I’m not sure if her divorce was before or after Stevie and Lindsey’s breakup but she was married to someone else in the band. They both went through it
I've seen this performance before, and owned the album since '97. But seeing it now, older and wiser, I can't believe this performance. The tension, pain, even anger, is unreal. This has to be one of the greatest performances of all time. A renewed respect for Fleetwood Mac. As if they needed it.

I guess we all have our Lindsey or Stevie. This song makes me cry every time thinking about what could have been and what was. This is beautiful and haunting all the same.
I didn’t know this wasn’t the original version of the song until a few years ago. Everything about this one is perfect. Stevie’s voice is so pure and honest in the first two verses. Christine’s harmonies send chills down your spine. Then Lindsey’s solo just feels like he’s saying everything without saying anything at all. The weight this song carries is just... wow.
This is my very favorite song. And one of the best songs ever written. Takes me back way back.To a time that was so magic. I'm so sorry that times have changed. I could live that era forever And I miss all of you...God bless.....Leebone
I haven't heard this song in years. And I have been on youtube searching for over 1 hour now... I did remember this performance.. I really think that its one of there greatest songs.
The intensity of this performance, especially at the end, is due largely to the fact that Lindsay and Mick blocked this song from going on "Rumours." Instead, it was only the "B" side to the 45 of "Go Your Own Way," Lindsay's version of the breakup, which went on the album. Lindsay also blocked Stevie from performing the song on her solo albums. So here she's performing it for the first time in 20 years. She and Lindsay hadn't been on stage together in about 10 years (since Lindsay left the first time in 1987). And her love/hate feelings for Lindsay are as strong as ever. To this day, they still are, with Lindsay getting fired from the band again in 2019 (reportedly at Stevie's request). In one way, they're soul mates, but in another they're cell mates. They've been intimately entwined since 1973, but that intimacy has a dark side, which is why they have not been romantically involved since 1977 and while they do their best work together, they cannot do it for an extended length of time without driving each other to madness.
Absolutely right. They did block her from using it solo and from it going on Rumours. But here she is finally getting to sing it at Lindsey. I believe 100% the emotions they are showing during this song.
John McVie is such a great bassist. He's oblivious about what's going on around him, and continues to keep playing his bass,as he sways back and forth. He has always been so professional, and has such a passive persona. I hope every thing is well with him? I kept reading a few sad things about his health?
Dang Hippie You're so right about the sadness and beauty of this song. Every time I watched Stevie sing, and pouring her heart out, I just couldn't stop crying! I also left a comment about her and Lindsey, and the rest of the members? After she's finished, she takes a bow and looks up at the audience. Then, she graciously thanks them.
What a performance! Stevie singing directly to Lindsey at the end gets me every time. And it blows my mind that this stellar rendition has only 200K hits vs. Human League's Heart Like a Wheel with more than double...makes no sense, THIS is the far superior track! C'mopn people, give props where it's deserved. Fleetwood Mac brings it every time!
I think this song tells a long history in a few words. Notice how Lindsay stays in the dark until they both sing "Time cast a spell on me...". I'm sure there is a lot here we don't know about...and shouldn't. I love them both and don't care what they may or may not have done.
This gem over time became the wife's and my song. As different songs do for different couples. I think it was cemented though when after 10 years we spent a little time apart during which she asked if she could have our wedding album, Upon reflecting one day she found right at the very end i had written the song out. This song for me is a reminder of how love and passion are eternal like wedding vows or a promise. How that love will follow you down so to speak. I smile and cry and I love you Kelly. Was I just a fool......
for everything that has happened between Stevie and Lindsey, when their voices combine you know they were meant to do this together at the very least...perform...sing....write music ....Stevie's voice is incredible along with her writing and stage presence on top of it, but maybe Lindsey's voice gets overlooked ....AND they had Christine as well....ADD to these amazing voices the rhythm section of John McVie and Mick= SUPERGROUP

It takes some longer to love the right way and not take people for granted- to even know what true love is. She did love him- and he loved her back the same- I just think everything got in the way. Even to this day, they still say that the other is the love of their life. It's a shame they couldn't make it work. This is a haunting song. The way they were singing to each other is mesmerizing.
+theclassicgamer Not quite right. They each say the Stevie/Lindsay story will never be finished but he is happily married and she went on record saying that Joe Walsh (not Don Henle) was the love of her life. I still believe these two will always have something special between them. I actually feel Lindsay has the most feelings. Stevie has said he blames FM for their break up.
Oh, in interviews even now when talking about his life he mentions the photographer that became his wife, mother of his children as his "soulmate"... I'm sure he wants to mean it, for her sake, and I'm sure it sounds good to her-- but he's not fooling anyone but himself.
That’s the crazy thing about it. Because she is who she is, she knows he won’t be able to escape her. Whether it be in a hotel lobby or on the radio in the car, Stevie will show up. I love it. It’s the perfect f-u to an ex. Your gonna have to hear me on the radio the rest of your life and ha ha
My father told me this was one of the greatest love songs ever! He was a 100% right! Thnk u dad! Rip... Sleep easy old man...... And thank you for everything you did for me and you sacrifice for me and my brother's
When they start singing the song to each other, the way they can't take their eyes off each other, it's definitely powerful. You can't help but get chills, and you have to wonder what they were both thinking at that moment. Classic performance. Not just musically, but visually.
+ Jason Mucci Throughout the song she was always glancing for a peek for his reaction and never got it until the end when they sorta dueted. As they sang the lyrics they spoke in Body language and all, and break it off abruptly to end the song.
By far the best performance that I've ever witnessed by the Great Fleetwood Mac, the whole show was amazing but this performance stoled the night, I watch this DVD on a regular basis,RIP Christine you are the Songbird 🕊️
Does anybody else get misty eyed, and/or chills, when watching this powerful performance. Early in the song Lindsey stealing glances at Stevie while she sang, later in the song Stevie glancing at Lindsey... Then, the undeniable stare each share with one another. So powerful, coming from a place so real.
@@scotthockenberry3085 This was a show. i love this beautiful song. The arrangement was perfect. But this tormented love affair between Stevie and Lindsey? Get over it. The have.
The sheer, overwhelming emotion and power of Stevie's voice on display here is beyond incredible!! The fire in her eyes near the end of the song when she almost glares at Lindsey is almost too heartbreaking to watch. A masterful performance and once in a lifetime performance.
If you don't get goose bumps when Stevie & Lindsey trade verses at the end you are not human & spiritual...what brilliance & beauty they bring....you simply can not top this! Legendary! ;) The Mac 4 ~ Eva!
In this video, the way they look into each other's eyes, between 4:25 & 4:31, you can tell that there's still a love there that's shone through the ages & will never, ever die.
Lindsey Buckingham, if he can withstand this and Landslide in one show and not crumble into a blubbering mess, has to be the strongest willed man in the world.
The Mac at their best: emotional and raw. They had an uncanny ability to reach the deepest levels of the personal feelings we all share. I don't think they set out to do this, it just happened and they set it to record. Lucky for all of us.
Awesome song! I love this version of Silver Springs. I always end up bawling by the time the song is over. I don't know why. I'm not in a relationship with anyone. Some songs have that affect on me.
I could watch this day and night. Seriously, doesn't get any better than this! Stevie and Lindsey's love is still such a powerful and unmistakable bond. This video is proof positive of that! Love me some Fleetwood Mac!
I doubt anyone can get tired of hearing Stevie Nicks sing this song even after having heard it ten times without interruption. The more you hear it, the more you want to hear it. ❤Stevie Nicks❤
This was always the wife and my song. One time we were separated and she had contacted me and asked for our wedding book back. So I sent it off but on the back page I wrote, I’ll follow you down till the sound of my voice will haunt you. You’ll never get away from the sound of the man that loves you, over and over. She said she read it and cried and we reconciled. She’s the love of my life and this song epitomises the strength of that love. I love you Kell.
Music/poetry has a way of expressing feelings that standard communication can’t. To me, it’s a direction connection to God, which is why it is so powerful. You may feel different, but either way, I’m happy for you!
and I feel like Stevie's saying to Lindsey that this song is about you and that I won't ever let you forget it. Such raw emotion and honesty. The fact that they go through this emotional venting each night n tour is either cathartic or torture...still a phenomenal prerformace.
This version is to die for. Beats the original recording. For a band to do that 20 years after recording it is just astounding.
Yes I agree, love listening to this love version than the original

And don't forget Say Goodbye - I still cry at that one...
SHE wrote LANDSLIDE BEFORE they broke up
Yeah it's sad that real artist barely exist anymore, thank god for Adele
Perhaps the single most honest performance in history, the lost relationship between 2 people overtook the whole arena, powerful.
Does anyone else think this is the best Fleetwood performance of all time?
Absolutely 100% yes
Nah Fleetwood Mac Rihanna live 1976 best performance imo
I came here to say that! Stevie's having an exorcism@@NinjaSquirrel30
Stevie has said he blames FM for their break up.
mary88stella1 She said a lot of things on record. She also said Mick Fleetwood was one of the great loves of her life as well.
Oh, in interviews even now when talking about his life he mentions the photographer that became his wife, mother of his children as his "soulmate"... I'm sure he wants to mean it, for her sake, and I'm sure it sounds good to her-- but he's not fooling anyone but himself.
@@avadarlin25 - hence, now he's divorcing.
Stevie IS the love of his life...
Where do they say this?
I love the fact that she sings it right to his face!!! It's so satisfying. Of course her voice would haunt him. She's freaken Stevie Nicks ❤
Gilda Matias 🤣🤣🤣
@Malcolm Driver plus she also wrote Dreams which is the band’s only #1 single and another kiss off to Lindsey.
All true. But relationships are hard
EXACTLY!!
My father told me this was one of the greatest love songs ever! He was a 100% right! Thnk u dad! Rip... Sleep easy old man...... And thank you for everything you did for me and you sacrifice for me and my brother's
Im so sorry for your loss
Our dads know ❤
it's nice to know , even tho we are strangers, that our father's are up there enjoying music together. blessings, friend.
If you love someone but it just cant work, you will feel this song with every part of your soul. Goosebumps.
Absolutely unbelievable that Stevie was nearly 50 years old during this performance. Looks and sounds like she is still 27. Unreal.
Her hair was absolute perfection!
:D I've just commented the same
I saw her when she was 70, still sounds exactly the same and is absolutely the queen of rock and roll
I was in like 4th grade during this and I remember having a crush on her after watching this with my parents haha
Quite possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
what is so fucking crazy is that it takes a beautiful song like this to realize how bad u fuckd up.
+Dennis Cox yea really
@@denniscox4728Well spoken my friend 👍
AGREED."I WILL FOLLOW YOU DOWN TIL MY VOICE WILL HAUNT YOU". INDEED THEY WILL. POWERFUL.
She really did cast a spell on him. Stevie’s voice will literally haunt him forever.
The most telling thing is WHEN Stevie looks at Lindsey.
Every single time.
They fucked the shit out of each others faces after this show.
Agree 100%
@@scotthockenberry3085 This was a show. i love this beautiful song. The arrangement was perfect. But this tormented love affair between Stevie and Lindsey? Get over it. The have.
The sheer, overwhelming emotion and power of Stevie's voice on display here is beyond incredible!! The fire in her eyes near the end of the song when she almost glares at Lindsey is almost too heartbreaking to watch. A masterful performance and once in a lifetime performance.
Very well said!
Of the 653,792 views...probably 100,000 are me. You just never tire of watching this.
Then you have very good taste.
That means you have watched this non stop for 367.361111 days
I know I love it.
if no one is watching this video it means I, too, have died.
If you don't get goose bumps when Stevie & Lindsey trade verses at the end you are not human & spiritual...what brilliance & beauty they bring....you simply can not top this! Legendary! ;) The Mac 4 ~ Eva!
Damn, the way they look at each other, there are no words to describe it.
If I had to try to pick a word to describe it, I guess I'd have to say... Soulmates.
John Collins Yeah soulmates just about covers it.
In this video, the way they look into each other's eyes, between 4:25 & 4:31, you can tell that there's still a love there that's shone through the ages & will never, ever die.
Despite everything they went through, it is clear that they still mean a lot to each other.
I agree completely! :)
I feel Lindsey's quiet solo on his guitar was saying "I'm sorry"
That's a nice positive sentiment.
YES TOTALLY!!! Emotional
You can see the emotion in his face right before his solo.
Sorry for what? Why do you think he's at fault?
I agree!
Every day. I’m addicted to this song, this story, this band, this unending love. Help!!
This song pulls at the ole heart strings.
jwphx1962 well said
There's a whole lot of history between Stevie and Lindsay. Love, hate, and everything in between.
The chemistry between Stevie & Lindsey is off the charts here. It's beautiful.
Hear this, kids? This is how it's done.
The kids are alright. 😉
Lindsey Buckingham's playing is just so exquisite. He has got to be one of the most under rated guitarists ever...
I totally agree!!!
eville62 Right on, eville62!
Agree, he’s a badass.
@@erome31 That he is, for sure.😎🤘
People that know, he's not underrated at all.
Christine McVie is one of the most underrated musicians there ever was. What a voice.
Ron Zrebski And she’s gorgeous
I love her so much!
Absolutely hands down. This song very underrated too.
Christine mcvie is racist too!
@@hhhsss7432 ?
Awesome song! I love this version of Silver Springs. I always end up bawling by the time the song is over. I don't know why. I'm not in a relationship with anyone. Some songs have that affect on me.
A Perfect 10...gut wrenching to watch your lover sing this painful song. Christine McVie adds her stellar harmony to the trio.
I could watch this day and night. Seriously, doesn't get any better than this! Stevie and Lindsey's love is still such a powerful and unmistakable bond. This video is proof positive of that! Love me some Fleetwood Mac!
Yaay someone else caught it as well :) did not even see your comment when I left one almost like it haha
+Melissa Cottrell I totally agree....
+Weezer Me too! They do cast a spell on me!!
oh, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!
That focused stare between the two of them is what makes this version so perfect.
You may feel different, but either way, I’m happy for you!
cringe
😭💝🌷✨️
and I feel like Stevie's saying to Lindsey that this song is about you and that I won't ever let you forget it. Such raw emotion and honesty. The fact that they go through this emotional venting each night n tour is either cathartic or torture...still a phenomenal prerformace.
