Love this strategy! Another thing I like to do when things don’t work out the way I hoped is to ask myself “what is the lesson that can be learned from this less than desirable performance?” When the result is not what you’re going for, then it’s an opportunity to learn the causes for the bad performance and then figure out how to correct them or what training you can do to improve a previously unknown weakness you have.
Reflecting on my bad performance, learning from it and telling myself in order for me to make it pro in football I need to keep going and have better performances
You should do a video on cole palmer and how not thinking too much/anything at all (playing and preparing off instinct or auto pilot respectively), either by choice or by being stone-dumb, can be benificial to performance. For instance Vardy climbed the leagues by just enjoying his football and working hard without much thought
Long term goals are useless without short term goals, short term goals shows you that your making progress. It motivates you to keep going and once you reach that big goal it will be 10x more sweet. Thanks 🙏 👏
This is such an interesting account, bro. You can’t see my face or my name because I made this email specifically to watch UA-cam. But I wanted to say your videos are inexplicably incredible. You have unmatched wisdom, and seem to be able to talk about any topic regarding the mind with such thoroughness. Your content is aesthetically clean, it looks like you’ve taken pride in it, and it’s helped 10,000s of kids, I’m certain. Keep pushing, never stop.
I'm an U18 striker, what would be good A,B,C goals I could follow? I'm thinking A goal = 3 goals, B goal = 1 goal or 1 assist and C goal = having 3 on target shots , do you have any better examples?
it's up to you to decide, they're personal after all and everyone is motivated by different things. they don't always have to be outcome based as that can in some ways lead to too much self-imposed pressure.
@@SamMartinPeakPerformance Understood. Thanks very much and I really appreciate all of your videos. I believe your videos are the emphasizing the biggest factor to playing well of all sports and they have helped me a lot.
Stay present by creating focus triggers, such as repeating a simple mantra or focusing on your breathing to bring your mind back to the moment. If you catch yourself drifting, gently refocus on the task at hand by asking, “What’s my next move?” or by tuning into the game’s sensory details, like the ball or teammates' positions.
Hello, I have a problem. When it comes to match day my legs feel slow and sluggish and I don’t feel as athletic as I do when i have my training days. Do anyone know what I can do to get rid of this?
It sounds like match-day nerves or overthinking might be affecting your energy and movement. Try adding a consistent pre-game routine that includes light activation work and visualization to help your body and mind feel game-ready.
How else do you overcome bad performances? ⬇
resetting my mind and thinking of past success to make myself confident works very well for me

absolutely - need plenty of checkpoints along the way!
to me an example of a,b,c goals in track(100m) if you're confident:
A= Win the race
B= improve your personal record
C= Get a medal(top 3)

A goal 3 goals B goal 2 g/a C goal 1ga 3 shots on target is good but scoring is the main thing
Yo thanks so much. Do you have advice on how to not lose focus while on the field, like not drift away.

Sam how do I just lock in the flow state just focus on my goals and leave the attractive things on Earth and just focus on myself?
"attractive things on Earth" - make those unattractive and your goals actually attractive
