I’ve been practicing the basic strokes daily for about an hour and a half for the last two weeks. At the same time I’ve been researching on UA-cam and the Internet trying to find someone that made sense to me, since I’ve been grouping the letters in my mind already and my hand seems to want to do that your way of grouping the letters into different categories makes it so much easier to think of it in your head. I appreciate this series I find doing brushstrokes to be very relaxing, but I am in bed doing a lot of the practice because I am in a wheelchair do you think that it will really make a difference if I don’t practice at the table? Will I not make progress if I don’t do the practice at the table?? Just wondering if you know. Sorry so long but I’ve really been inspired by you and have downloaded your sheets… Your kid is really really cute too!!

i definitely need to work on my lifting towards the bottom of my strokes

+Craftin Caly yes! It took me quite a while to pick that up. And when I am writing super fast, I tend to not lift soon enough, or the transition is just not the best. Go slow, even if you're shaky. It's better to build that muscle memory and increase your consistency than to worry about not being shaky in the beginning.

I would love it if you explained how to do the letter S. I don't think it was in the beginner series and I'm struggling with getting to grips with where to start and end. thank you

Hi Sharise (apologies if I've spent your name incorrectly),
enjoy all your videos till now. this one about joining the letters is extremely helpful too. thank you!
please could you do one about how to move forward once you're good with letters and joining words. what do you do from there and where do you go. meaning, what's next once you have learnt the letters, how does one move forward? thanks again!! cheers :)

+Prarthana Chinnappa Hi there! Aww, you just missed an extra "s" in my name. I know, tons of letter s's. :)
Next, start writing words! You can write nearly anything you want. My advice is to start with single words at a time. Maybe even try writing the same word over and over. Try different words that utilize different types of basic strokes so you are getting experience with various combinations. Then keep increasing the size of your words and the length of your sentences, and you can pretty much write anything. Another aspect to calligraphy and handlettering is flourishing, which I don't do much of at this time, but that would also be another step to take. Think of it as the icing on the cake ;)

    Hi Sharisse
Yes! I would love to have you write words, slowly so we can see where you lift and the connections. Are there any worksheets with words?
    Thank you

Hi Martha! These are the basic strokes for most lowercase letters. I'm currently sharing basic strokes for uppercase letters as well - have you seen those videos? I just posted them and I created a playlist as well so they can stay together. Hope that helps!
