Great deal on the Four Roses, and I got the same deal on the SW uncut at Costco so that’s a great price. My brother picked up a Widow Jane 10 yr for me in a total wine near St. Louis for $52, so excited because they go for $80 near me. Cheers!

Would have had a hard time leaving that Single Barrel Peerless on the shelf. Frugal typically nails it with their picks. $65 is a great price on the Smoke Wagon UCUF. Dude, you told me about those $49 Four Roses barrel strength, but seeing is believing! LOL! And you made it back to LP for the Sam Houston's! Can't wait to hear what you think about that one.

Hey! Great video per usual. Yeah QUINN and RUA are made at the same distillery. The RUA is actually pretty good, the Quinn, I'm safe to say, I am not a fan. I bought a bottle of it at the distillery because seems like a good cheap mixer, I regret not getting an RUA instead though just paying the extra money. I got mine from the distillery which is in Charlotte on a Distillery/Brewery run with the wife. If you ever want to know what is worth getting they do tours for $15 with a tasting at the end of 4 whiskeys and a vodka.

That was an absolute steal on the Four Roses. I've never heard of them being less than $100. When you go to the Cox Creek location of Four Roses they are $100. The Kentucky Owl is supposed to be excellent but it was overpriced at $170, their online store has it for $133.99. I would have grabbed the Michtners, That bottle is rarely seen below $200. Great find again on the Four Roses.

Damn Jim Beam SiB for $25 is excellent and it is a decent pour that is better than most sub 30 bottles.
The Calumet 16 is very good.
Those Four Roses SiB picks were 42 for years now fluctuates between 44-52.

Those Sam Houston’s really are a great pour and gem of a bottle. Nothing against calumet but hope to see more Sam Houston batches in the future. It’s been a few years now since the last one

I paid $160 about 6 months ago for 2023 M10 Rye. But $50 for that 4 Roses is nuts! Definitley miss-priced 😂
That Michters 10 Yr Rye would have been in my hands immediately. $199 is MSRP and that just doesn't happen. Even Total Wine throws those in the allocation raffles (but I believe you can randomly get them at the distillery in bundles).

Got to try some Calumet 16 just this past week. I enjoyed it. You can definitely taste the age, lots of oak, char, tobacco tannins, etc. Probably won't buy a bottle for myself at that $160 price, though.

Kentucky Owl is a tough one... The Takumi Edition (red label) fantastic! Worth $125 for it... The Confiscated I wouldn't pay more than $100. The Maighstir Edition (blue label) I tried at the KY Bourbon Festival and its good but $180 is a lot. I'd probably pay $140 myself... If you want to try KY Owl on the cheap the Wiseman is usually $50 or less and it pretty good.

Angels Envy isn't the best but I absolutely love store picks from them, 100% worth the buy at $85. Can't say I'd go out of my way for their yearly release since store picks are Cask Strength.
The Angels Envy Store Picks in South Carolina are $110 minimum so not sure if its worth that or not

Bourbon Hunter I had the chance to crack the top on that 2nd city distiller Noble Jones distilled in Augusta and it was pretty dang good. I believe I could drank it with a meal. just thought I would let you know from a Carolina guy to a Carolina guy.

@@Bourbon_Hunter Well not surprisgly its like if Bourbon and Scotch had a kid. The nose is very generic bourbon, and initially it just tastes like a fairly boring bourbon, but the finish has a distinct hint of scotch character, almost peat, maybe its the malt. I'm not sure exactly. But definitely leans toward scotch.

Stranahans Original is the best. The Blue Peak is like Original but Solera Finished. I went to distillery in September cause I live in Colorado. The Diamond Peak which is finished in tequila casks was gross. The best one is their 10 Year which is bout $119 and if you can find a Single Barrel it's good too. I would just get Original🥃

Man i got a text saying they had 1.75L of Eagle Rare at a local shop in Columbia. Drove over to pick one up and they were out... except they did have a 1.75L of Wellers Special Reserve for $50. Never grabbed a bottle so fast.

Over in Myrtle Beach and keep thinking about taking a drive up around the area of SC/NC. That kinda HUGE selection is insane!! Do they have tasting samples? Fantastic price on the 4R BS.

@Bourbon_Hunter Well it can be but recently a store had the 2023 Michter's Toasted Barrel Barrel Strength Rye out on the shelf at about 160. Blanton's SP for 90. Prices are going up. I'm buying almost as much scotch as bourbon. Out on the shelves were Springbank Local Barley 10 year and Longrow Red 15 year Pinot Noir if you.know where to look. Cheers!

the angels envy cash strength is better than the original. Go to the distillery sometime and get the 115 proof. So delicious. The store picks are just as good.

Makers only dunks 1 liter regulars and 750 cask strengths. I’ve been told 1 per pallet on the 1 liters and 1 per case on the cask. Just what I’ve been told from someone high up at Makers.

I've heard Makers has stopped allowing "slam dunks". The only time you can get one is if you do it yourself at the distillery.

Not true, the employees still do slam dunks randomly . If you visit the distillery you cannot do this as they don't even have deep enough vat's to allow this as it is a safety issue.

Heaven Door is not worth digging into . I have their cask strength and it’s boring, nothing special, typical celebrity alcohol. Angels envy is worth passing on too. Nothing worth spending your money. Templeton Rye is worth every penny don’t keep passing them up.

That Michter’s rye was honestly the most disappointing rye I’ve ever had for the amount of hype it had. It’s not even close to the same level as the 10yr bourbon. The only big boy rye I’d chase is OF SiB Rye.

I had an OF BS Rye a couple months ago... it tasted really hot and youthful, disappointing. And I drink a lot of high proof stuff ECBP, Stagg Jr etc.

That's the potato you're tasting, it gets the best of us. I for one have purchased 2 2XOs, at least one Spirits Direct, and I stared at a Calumet 15 for 20 minutes today. Full on tateritus.
