You need to find a good local Louisville friend and just do a derby party at a locals house a bit away from or just outside of Churchill Downs. Half of the city is literally filled with derby parties on every single block in the city. You should also hit up Thunder Over Louisville one year.

They only go on Friday, Oaks day. But then oaks day got so crowded, all of the locals started going on Thursday for their big celebration. And that is called Thurby. I am a big shot in my company so I get to go on Wednesday. Lol. The block party around Churchhill downs on derby eve is nothing now. In the 1970s and 80s the whole area around Churchill Downs was a party all night long and the police have now closed that whole area down so you have to go to small street parties like he showed in this video .

I don't think I've ever had a Maker's that could be a favourite but I'm sure there's some bottles out there that are fantastic.
