- The 2024 Into Grenadier is built well. I had the chance to get my hands on it and I can tell you that it's definitely not a luxury vehicle but it seems to be built to last a while. There were no squeaks and barely any creaks. Hopefully the stay around for a while and sales are good enough to keep the Ineos Grenadier in production!

Wow a new retro style 4x4 that isn’t a EV. Atleast one company has a brain. These things are going to do pretty well and they are priced pretty reasonable for what you get

Ya they nailed it, and people are complaining about the price but if you wanted to go build that exact setup off of an old defender you’d be looking at spending double if not more. Ive personally never liked landrovers but I’d scoop this up tomorrow if I could
How is 80k priced well 😐 and it already looks out dated. The dash pops and cracks when they pushed on it.
Go start poking around a 80 grand tesla, ford, Chevy or dodge. More than just the dash will be creaking and popping lol. Pretty crazy a small manufacture can give you all of that value for 80k. Go try to price out what it would cost to resto an old defender to that level you might be touching cloth bud lol
@@ericb8867 Have you driven a new Ford lately? The ranger To be specific. Talk about shitty build quality and an interior that rattles after a few years. Then the f*cking transmission suddenly decides to not work. And that was nearly a 50k vehicle in 2020.
I went to the dealer to see it today. Honestly, I'm digging it. I'd definitely buy one, but not with these ridiculous dealer mark-ups.
I'll most likely stick with my original choice - 4RUNNER trd pro.

So having had two TRD Pro (5th Gens) let me tell you why I sold mine and kind of wrote off Toyota. First of all bad quality plastics and paints…. I had a cavalry blue and then an army green and the paints are far inferior say to a BMW type paint. Also the plastics on the rear bumper cover can be scratched with your fingernail. Also- don’t get me started on Toyota rust protection- truly terrible compared with German vehicles. This car is basically a BMW level paint and production - very reliable far better finishing than Toyota could dream of. Just my 10 cents and 10 years of Toyota ownership

If all else was equal, I'd really like to get the Grenadier. I loved the quality, the rugged look and the solid feel of it. Not sure how reliable that BMW power train will be, but straight 6s are solid. Not sure if I can swallow that 90K price though...

100% agree. The problem is that people are willing to pay these prices so the dealers keep marking it up
its small scale production they dont make hundreds of thousands a year like other manufactures. if they become more popular im sure it will become cheaper

@@timothyperry4559I specced a Defender 110 to about $83,000 before opting to go with the Ford Bronco Heritage which set me back $58,000 OTD. I previously had a 2006 Range Rover HSE which I bought certified preowned in 2007 and ran it for 135,000 miles which is why I was initially going to replace it with the Defender but I liked the look and off road capability of the Bronco more.
I saw a Grenadier in green pull up next to me at a light this past week and it looked really cool.
Problem is the market, all cars are stupid expensive now. Actually at 71K its surprisingly competitive for what you get while being a small boutique brand. Today its not hard to find vehicles like a TRD Pro Sequoia going for 90K

They gave us what we "off-roader" have been asking! I hope to get one down the road!
This, along with the Toyota Land Cruiser, are the only two SUVs I like. There's not BS, they're designed for an express purpose, and they do that purpose so well

I sure hope so. Where I live I'm starting to see them all the time. If sales are good I'm sure they'll keep giving we ask. Would be cool if you could get one that's barebones. Almost like a farm truck. But I'm not sure if their clientele would be interested in something like that or if they could even make it cheap enough.

That's what I'm saying. I love my LX but this thing comes with Triple lockers and it's got the same B58 (bmw engine) that Toyota chose to put into their Supra! So it can't be less reliable than a Supra lol.
I'm gonna wait to see how reliable this is before I think about getting it

When start ups (cough, Fisker) try and do everything new on their own, it’s a raging dumpster fire. Here? Get the best possible BMW powertrain & share some of their interior tech, and focus on the design of the rest. It’s a great thing.

The B58 is an extremely reliable powertrain. Not the BMW motors your dad grew up on
It is a B58 TU and he replaced the old electric water pump with a mechanical, have an oversized vacuum and power steering pumps. It also has been changed up to provide less HP and more torque, which should provide more longevity

What i don’t like is the small screen for reverse camera , the BMW gear handle, rear seats not comfortable , No middle armrest , no push button , There is no handle to help the driver get into the car, unlike the passenger next to him

Everything about is awesome… except the bmw goofy shifter. That kills both the retro and the off road vibe.
Throw in a manual transmission, along with a stick for shifting the transfer case.
The bmw engine makes me worry.

I think that it's the only company that can offer an engine in mass production that has a transmission that is capable of going along with it. To me it's one of the best engines they could've put in it.
It's the same engine as the new Supra. And so far... there isn't any issues with them at all!

Owned mine for 9 months now. Curse the dreadful centre screen (invisible in sunlight) and lack of speedometer in front. And don't get me started on the steering!

Sadly I do not think it would fit in my garage as the opening to the garage is a little small. The only thing i do not really like is that key and the shifter. The key just looks old and outdated and that shifter just does not fit the vehicle, not really sure what they were thinking with that. I would consider getting one if I felt safe parking it outside but sadly the converter thieves and such have ruined that.
You're right about the shifter and key. The key doesn't bother me too much, but the shifter is weird. It's probably the only option they had.
I don't think Ineos designed then shifter....

This is the Defender LAND ROVER should have given us, not the Uber luxury Chelsea Tractor they did. No difference to the Discovery or Range Rover, no working vehicle at all in their line up now. What I wanted was a single cab Ute with a chassis that I could fit a tray to, b it no we got a show boat of a vehicle for weekend warriors to drive up the motorway on and then drive in a mud puddle and think that is what 4WDs are for.

Other countries get it in diesel. America gets gasoline engines. If America only can have gasoline, should get LS crate motors instead of BMW.

Yup... That's one thing that they need to change when the new models come out. I get it if it's all they had. But it needs to get done.
They could have been way better, the built quality isn't that good and with a price you pay for them it should be ways better. There are problems with the cars that are so easy to fix and you wonder why it's a problem in the first place. It's fun to drive with and you can make a nice car of it but it's not worth the amount of money you need to pay for it
This one was 100k. Most of that was markup. I'm interested to where the company is going to go from here. These are more of a "flex" than anything
