- This video is on Farm Bill 2020 and we will learn why farmers are protesting against it. Farmers in Punjab and Haryana have been protesting against three bills:-
1. The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill 2020
2. The Farming Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020
3. The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020

Exactly
It appears that the mainstream media has forgotten how to research a story. This is such a lucid explanation. Thank you.
All r sold out media
this report adds to the information but not fully discuss all the aspects and scenarios. Why does it not explain how Mandi's and APMCs handle demand-supply fluctuations ? Why does it not discuss scenario of inflation due to monopoly of APMC middlemen? Hoarding can be done at APMC level also. It has been done if past. Why does it not highlight the fact that some of the middlemen in APMC and big farmers have nexus to manipulate prices ? Last but not the least why does it now highlight the fact that any MSP security cover by govt in case of excess produce results in wastage and loss of taxpayers money in buying it ??
Report gives partial truth which can also be counter-productive.
The mainstream media knows very well how to research a story, but since most of them are Leftists for whatever crazy reason, they are deliberately trying to present a very different picture, because they want India to remain poor and impoverished forever, because no one who's earning well will ever support their perverted idealogy which has proven to be a failure everywhere in the world.

The explanation is so unbiased that those who are pro-government, belive the bill is good for farmers and those who are anti understand why the bill is bad for farmers. It also says that the bill has it share of both good and bad, and a proper discussion would make it lot better for every party involved.
That is exactly the case. The bills are debatable. But the problem is every media house has picked teams in advance and will only speak in their teams favour. No one will tell you pros and cons in an unbiased manner.
Every one will do that but farmers are now beating police. Remember protest of 2013 . It was peaceful. Peaceful protest is necessary for any debate. Farmers are telling to repeal the bill but that's not possible. They should debate over it to make it more useful

I am from tamilnadu. I like this video quite useful. After celebrating 72 years republic day still farmers in my state are very poor and facing lots of troubles like cyclone , floods , insufficient water storage etc. State and central government will never provide enough money or cancel loans for affected farmers as so many years passed away. So my opinion is central government tried their best and let them do their work. Hope it may be successful for farmers in future. The whole problem is for small and poor farmers let their children's will help them in condition apply legal process after all they are working in IT field for foreign company.
Situations are same in every state.

@@RajwantKaur-yt5ge it failed because it was a small marketplace. You need a country wide open market to see it working. It's the same concept in Canada, US where many of those who supported the protestors do farming under similar business conditions

How many farmers would stand against corporate buyers? Corporates control governments. Do you think farmers will not be intimidated in the name of legal action? And guess, who is responsible for dispute resolution? Civil servants. Who are highly unapproachable and corrupt, in general.
@@sachin9292 Well the law provides legal protection for farmers who goes back on agreement . Not sure what else can be done ? Now the farmers should form a union to protect from corporate if they still don't have confidence

More than farmers middle class should have protested against the bills. Privatisation is not a problem. It’s unregulated privatisation with crony capitalism is a lethal combination. That’s more likely to happen.
Moron these bills stand to bring produce at a lower rate to us ; MSP inflates the price of crop for us to buy it at lower price. If you cannot understand research first.
@@powerslavenegi Exactly. Free market efficiencies are totally overlooked in this video. Moreover govt shd NEVER be in the business of fixing prices. Its time to bring more efficiency into agriculture
@@powerslavenegi You are misinformed. It's only the Central & State Govts. & it's agencies which are procuring crops at MSP rates(mostly wheat & rice) for Public Distribution System or maintenance of buffer reserves of these food items. An average Indian who purchases grains from market is purchasing at market rates and MSP has no bearing on that unless the Fair price shop owners & others are diverting the publicly procured supplies to private market!!
@@asisrout1988 I am very well aware of what I am saying ; the central and state agencies are cartels . Current government knows this and they know many poor and weak farmers are being exploited by these cartels that is why as first step they are simply saying that these farmers be allowed to sell directly to market. To Government's point there is no reason for farmers who sell to APMC or FCI at MSP price to panic for if they want to continue they can . However reason these protests are there in place is those running these cartels know in future the government will reform the system further and their corrupt gravy train will come to stop. Most agitations in this country are being funded by corrupt to stop reforms.
These protests are EXACTLY on same lines as protests from Mulayam Singh and COmmunists when first ATMs and IT came to India , they were against these and conducted many agitations and protests by spreading fear about job losses.
One correction here, government can't get out of the Agri business. They are bound to buy wheat and rice as per the Food security act. It's mandatory for them to provide wheat and rice to nearly 80 cr people in India via TPDS
You miss that this government is famous in amending all acts via ordinance
@@fishsauce7497 I think you are uneducated about this subject, so let me educate you. This government has done the maximum procurement, compared to all previous governments. Especially the procurement done last year, was bumper ! As well as because farmers were given 1.5x msp last year because of covid, the farmers benefitted both from the fact that all their produce was procured as well as they were given higher price. You should read more newspapers like Hindu and Indian express, you would understand how this procurements last year by govt. was the reason why Agriculture sector saw a boom last year, even though all other sectors were down because of covid.
@@kunalmandhare3144 To add on, just check on the tractor sales figures. They are growing over last year. YoY and MoM sales is altogether increasing. This clearly indicates that agriculture in the country is spiking up but for some illiterates, it would be a hard fact to digest.
@@fishsauce7497 In your face dude. The facts have been stated above. Just gather some courage and try to make sense in your statements. However, despite all the facts aforementioned, I am certain that your upcoming arguments will lack cogency.
@starlord the best guardian watch the video again you will understand... I don't see it as a bad ...if you want to do business with corp sect then its your choice do it you will be benefitted of course there are demands from those corps but as the narrator said you can't have everything you will have to leave something behind that is how IT companies works in short that is how Corp world works..and if you are that insecure and don't trust these corps then mandis are there you go and do your business as u were doing previously there is no compulsion..there is no saying that farmers will have to act according to the bills please someone correct me here cause as per my knowledge mandis are and will still be in a play...
But the actual point is nobody force any farmer to make a contract outside mandi market.
A farmer can choose if he want to sell in mandi or not. its farmers choice. Jai kisan Jai Bharath
Exactly my point...its totally upto farmers with whom they want to do business with its not a compulsion..i tried to explain this to one guy in one of the comments above but doesn't seem to get it ... according to him there will be competition..well reliance fresh and spencers markets are already there when there was no law wasn't this a competition there?
😂 you don't anything about government.
When private players will come in market market the establishment mandi system will collapse. Because government will not do any procurement...
the thing is that the private firms have good capital...hence they will offer better prices and soon APMC will die out leaving farmers at the mercy of private firms. hope this makes u understand.
@@triffleshows7174 the answer is convert APMC to co-op non profit farmer union managed and regulated by farmers, dictating
MSP and supply chain. once you have that farmers will be able to control private companies. if union sees a company mal practising .. ban that company. trust me competition of private company will pick up the goods, people needs to eat.

I wasn't able to get the idea about why the farmers are protesting so much no matter how much I researched. Thanks it's really informative
People don't want to pay more from their pocket for vegetables, but speak about farmers profit.
How can it happen.
Private companies will take care of the pricing for farmers.
Anyway farmers always have option to go to APMC mandi if they wish to.
Government is not forcing farmers to sell to any individual they can sell as they wish.
Farmers can already sell to private buyers and most of them never pay on time.
APMC will die after these laws because the contract farming will restrict them selling to anybody else, much like BSNL died off after Jio was given all of its infrastructure.
The public is being distracted by the media because if this happens the days of road side vendors selling fresh fruit, vegetables, juice, etc will all disappear and average people will be buying from large reliance superstores at Rs200/ kilo and paying Rs100 for tea from street vendors, and by then it will be too late.
@@TheHardeepu these laws aren’t per say bad but the advantages for the farmers provided are crippled by equal disadvantages arising from the law. At the end of the day tho I believe consumers don’t get to say what is best for farmer’s. I believe that if a farmer truly believed that they would be empowered by this law, their religious/political alliance wouldn’t come into the scenario
It's the news that has made it a 'religious' issue, and the same news channels seem to think that if anybody goes against anything the government does they're automatically anti BJP and in favour of Congress. This is where they're wrong, whoever is in power especially without a decent opposition to debate laws properly before their passed will create problems and this is the core reason. Criticising the seat in power doesnt mean you support the other. It's happened with Trump in the US and in the UK where one party when in power takes advantage of pushing through some very contentious laws. If you look at the parliament footage of the laws being passed you will see that is no way of passing such a big bill...

@@TheHardeepu how do u know APMC will die?
1. The farmers will before hand know in the contract how much price they are gonna get. If they fail and legal clause I not valid let's say because the farmers couldn't supply the aggred quality, then the farmers will still have the option of selling the crops to APMC.
2. You gave the example of BSNL, well to tell you the fact that BSNL was never ahead in the race, it was already lagging behind even before Jio came. It lacked because of the poor quality of network that they provided in comparison to the private players. If you blame jio for BSNL's loss then you are wrong because bsnl lost because if it's own incompetency.
3. We all have to agree that the farm laws are not perfect. But instead of demanding the laws to be annulled they should be amended , so that the farmers get max profit. We want the best for our farmers.

As a newbie, I referred 2 resources on this topic before reaching here...They are elaborate but couldn't understand ....This is simple and easily understandable

Sir,
I m in love with Ur accent,Voice & the way u explain everything so clearly....It's really admirable....So soothing to our ears...
From this overall explanation what I understood is
Middle class people will suffer alot
Definitely
Farmers and private companies are safe
Buyers will suffer alot
I don't get how farmers are still safe?
Sure about farmers bro?
Explained very well in clear manner and charming voice.
Thanks, Amit!, I too feel clarity on this topic as a common man looking from the consumer side.
Your clarity, your logical explanations and your voice are remarkable.
First time I am sharing a youtube video & friends we must share this kind of quality information.
You are a ray of hope in this information tug of war amongst Right , Center and Left. Thank you. (Coming from a RWnger)
My god! Brilliant explanation in the clearest of voices. I wish this channel hits the million club real soon
Well explained. Has actually given lot of clarity on what the fuss is about.
@@asaf5381 you need to understand how agrarian economy works to understand why they are protesting . You can follow case study of Bihar where iThis model has been applied and their farming has been devasted as a result
It is lot more than a fuss ... Lives are at stake
A Bains. Where is your proof it has been devastated? My family does farming in Bihar. The bill isn't perfect but we are working with it. I'm sure BJP will wind up amending portion of the bills to give better protection to all farmers.
@@asaf5381 bjp IT cell wala hai na tu....ive seen your comments elsewhere also, kitna milta hai Rs. 2 per comment !?! Chindi-chor.
@@PritishA82 it would be better if you would talk about facts rather than shattering your mouth on a person to whom you don't even know.
Sir,
Please make it availeble in HINDI as well, in order to convey this fact based understanding to a large number of people.
Please sir
Thank you so much for making it short and simple. Thanks to you ,now I have interest on this subject and will dig deeper into videos that explain vastly on this subject. I'm sharing this to all my friends as it's simpler to grasp.
Thank you for the fragmented and detailed view of the laws.
This man has got the most beautiful accent. Also sir i rarely find any content more concrete and concise than your's.
Thank you so much for this video sir. We'd really appreciate more such videos on current issues. Please keep them coming! Yours are way more informative than the other channels. 🙏
A big fan of You sir..... for doing without publicity, asking likes or shares... doing freely... we owe you big time sir
Yes, things are very much clear now. Thanks for the explanation with examples !!!!!!
Just wow. The voice, the way of explaining the system and along with an example. The visuals love to see more of the videos. Just keep it up.
Thanks a lot. Finally i understand what exactly is the farmer's bill. Greatly explained positive and negative aspects.👍👍
I searched these kinds of explanations for months, thank you, now I understood clearly, so gov was not wrong completely as that protesters said, that bills have some flaws it easily rectifiable instead of ban the law. 👍👍👍
Some flaws? A farmer has to live in the constant fear of being exploited by companies, a poor and a middle class family have to live in fear of not being able to feed their families. This is not rectifiable.
@@chaskramer2932 You are kinda of a person who looks for problems in solutions.
@@chaskramer2932 farmers were still getting exploited in APMC mandis as traders waited for the longest time so they could buy products from farmers at cheap rates(for perishable products) since earlier trading outside mandis was prohibited.
@@SSP03 so why not amend APMC act
@@damnburger7351 this actually failed in european countries how could they implement in our country
I really like the way your tone of speaking and how precisely you are teaching those things thanks a lot .
My understanding of these three bills is deeper now🙏
Just like modern History crash course...... Plzzzz upload Polity crash course 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
Excellent video with simple explanation. I don't know what I'm missing, but the benefits of these bills definitely seem to outweigh the risks. The genuine loss will be state revenues by way of mandis. There's the intrinsic reality, then there's politicking. Difficult to tell apart fact from fiction even for us, let alone the farmers. It is quite clear that BJP is really bad at communicating legislation to the public clearly.
