    Good installation video, except for the drilling and chamfering the windshield. Some people don't know a special drill bit is needed for acrylics and the need to use a backing piece (wood) to keep from shattering the acrylic or how to properly chamfer the holes. The video completely skips over that when the holes just magically appear. I work in plastics and know the importance of these steps.

      What type of drill bit is needed?

    • @ph0rd

      Back in the day before youtube there wouldn't be any video and unlike today, unless you had connections and know-how, you'd have to order it through your dealer and they'd install it.
      And you're right, some people doing it themselves will blow it due to the missing instructions, and end up buying another windshield, possibly from Puig, since I think you can get them pre-drilled & chamfered..and some people will still blow it despite knowing what needs to be done.
      Lol call me a cynic because it makes me wonder if omitting the details you mentioned from the video isn't just an oversight...

    Algo que sería útil de agregar es que muestren como perforar el parabrisas. Ya que es posible y fácil de rajar para quien no lo sabe correctamente. Muy útil sus aportes y gracias por tomarse el tiempo. Saludos desde Argentina!

    I've recently bought your touring screen with integrated visor for my 1250gs. I've managed to fit the touring screen no problem but have encountered issues with the mounting kit to attach the visor. The screws provided appear too large for the pre-drilled holes on the brackets, so there is no easy way to connect without deforming the plastic on the bracket. I think either ive been supplied with the wrong screws or the holes werent pre-drilled large enough in the factory. I've submitted a request for help through your website but to date have not had a response. Can you help to resolve please?

    I bought one for my Super Tenere (the one that doesn't require drilling). I can't seem to adjust it, I'm afraid I will break the platics with the force required. Is it normal that it's that hard to change the angle? Or do I need to loosen the flat heads on the sides (tried a bit, didn't seem to move either)? It"s all plastic, so I don't want to break it. Thanks.

    • @Speedytrip
      @Speedytrip 2 роки тому +4

      If anyone else is wondering, I found on a Versys forum to force it. It feels like your gonna break it, but you're not. They should though put this in the instructions as many seem to have the same impression, that they are going to break the plastic while trying to adjust it.

    I bought on amazon store the plug-in visor and I didn't get the plastic screw m6 inside... how can I fix it?

    • @ph0rd
      @ph0rd 10 місяців тому +1

      Mine arrives from Amazon today.. If missing I'll contact Amazon and/or the seller to get them sent over (they will no doubt want to avoid a deserved 1star review).
      While waiting, I'll hit the hardware store (L's or HD) for temporary M6 screws. Doubt they carry them in black nylon and that's fine since their black metric screws in the drawer bins don't rust and can be cut to size easily if exact length isn't available.
      If I ever get nylon screws from the seller, I'll swap them out.

    Agreed re the music. clear fitting instructions but what is the difference between the 2 mounting methods, i.e. pros/cons. Obviously fitting with screws are a bit more labor intensive and potentially more risky, so what is the benefit?

    • @PuigHiTechParts
      @PuigHiTechParts  6 років тому

      The clip-on visor is more easy to install and remove compared with the visor fixed with screws. On the contrary, this second one it is complete because of their fixation type.

      The clip on is way more expensive ($100ish while you can find the screw version for $65ish)

    I bought this product from a german online retail and Im really hoping it to work well with the buffeting. Unfortunately after drilling and mounting, when trying to adjust the visor, both springs inside the plastic parts have failed. You guys should have a look at it in order to improve the product. The plastic bits are not well engineered and the plastic quality is also not up to the price.

      Puig Hi-Tech Parts Today I had the chance to test it and as expected the screen and the spoiler work amazingly great even for a tall person like me. My Tiger 800 Its almost like a tourism motorcycle now. I appreciate your sugestion but I dont want to deal with shippings and returns. I will drill a small screw across the mechanism just to prevent it from moving. Regards.

      The visor that is fixed with screws is a little lighter but not significant, the difference is that if you do not want to always wear the visor put on then use the clip-on.
